I engaged James Shanor to represent me in a complicated real estate transaction. James is a very astute listener. He quickly brought himself up to date on a project with a 20 year history. He was a great help to me in constructing and executing a strategy that got us to a successful closing I will certainly use James and his firm in my future legal needs.

The factual basis for this complaint arises from Rebecca Pepin handling of case DR30319 and equally as important are prior cases based on information and a strong belief are ongoing cases of similar nature. Violating her duty as an attorney (Colorado Codes of Professional Conduct Rules 1.12, 1.13 ..1.13(d), 1.15, 2.3, 2.4, 3.1, 4.4, 5.1, 5.5, 5.7, 7.1, 7.4, 8.2) and by committing acts of moral turpitude, dishonestly and corruption of justice. This is not an isolated incidence. There should be NO mitigating factor in Rebecca Pepin lack of disciplinary record. Rebecca also a shareholder and partner has been practicing law 25 years when the misconduct occurred. Petitioner’s lack of prior record is not especially commendable. Petitioner had been practicing long enough to know that her conduct was wrong! Based on Rebecca Pepin long history of wrongdoings as provided herein, Rebecca Pepin suggest that she is capable of committing wrong doings in the future and will likely do so if not fully reprimanded. It is demanded that the review department order that Rebecca Pepin be disbarred from the practice of law in this State and Rebecca Pepin name be stricken from the roll of attorneys. The allegations here regarding Rebecca Pepin conduct are summarized as follows: 1. Numerous, Multiple and Repeated Instances of Unprofessional and Unethical Behavior. 2. Denied Due Process due to Willful Negligence 3. Honesty Requirement; Prohibition and Deception 4. Willfully harming and causing stress, anxiety to purposefully frustrate the court and harming our children ages 7 and 9 that will likely have very long term consequences. 5. Denying an ignoring the services of a mental disabled child and deceiving the court and making false declarations. 6. Fraudulent and Willful & Contrive Misrepresentations 7. Acted with oppression, malice and fraud. 8. Professional misconduct 9. Motivated by Bad Faith and or a Conscious Desire to Injure Mother 10. Made false declarations regarding police investigations 11. Encouraging lawsuits from Corrupt Motive or interest 12. Gross carelessness and negligence violating the oath of an attorney to faithfully discharge her duties to the best of her knowledge and ability involving moral turpitude as she did not act in the best interest of our children. Exhibits to follow Conclusion The State Bar is charged with the responsibility for protecting the public from problematic attorneys and adhering to the Best Interest of the Child C.R.S. 14-10-123.4. As part of this duty, the State Bar should ensure that the public has ready access to information about attorney misconduct so it can be make informed decisions about who to retain when seeking counsel. For these reasons and the future well-being of our children I submit this Complaint and ask that the Bar take action against Rebecca Pepin in the form of disbarment, and also make public the various acts of misconduct described herein. She discriminated against me in statement to the court failing to disclose the father's inability to complete his paper Any attorney that supports violating court orders is nothing but trouble.

Being a Texas resident dealing with an Estate and Trust issue in Colorado; finding an attorney was difficult. Anne was the first attorney who would speak with me and listen to my issue. I was at a loss. Found out through my work I had a benefit for a free one hour consultation with JBP. I was lucky enough to be appointed to Todd Brownell. I was very nervous and found that I was presented with calmness in their office. Started with the receptionist, she was nice and offered me water. Then Todd met with me and was very knowledgeable so I hired him. They have been with me from the beginning. I could email with small questions or big ones, they were very fast with response times and I always was able to get my questions answered. Did a great job of making me feel supported and calm about a very stressful and antagonistic case. I was really happy to have John's support and back up, helping me see past the bombastic language of the opposing counsel. The only reservation I had was that I was advised to cut my losses early and be conservative, when I probably could have taken a harder line and not given as much ground, but overall I was happy and would use this firm again.
