In 2013 my wife was in a car accident and had injured her ankle while jamming on the brake. The other driver was from out of state and received the ticket for turning in front of my wife. We went to the hospital that day and they advised to follow up once the swelling went down. The injury progressed over the next few months and hospital bills began to add up. The other drivers insurance company said that they would cover the initial emergency room visit, however did not feel that this injury was that severe. Over the next few months the Achilles tendon got worse and she eventually needed surgery when all other braces and shots did not work. Fielding so many calls from the hospital and doctors that wanted their money and dealing with an insurance company that did not want to pay was life altering. We contacted Dr. Ramos's firm and had a consult with Brian Calandra and Dr. Ramos. They reviewed all of our paperwork and were so kind and helpful in that initial visit that we decided to go with their firm. Over the next year we could not have asked for better representation. Their para-legals would contact us weekly keeping us up to date on the case and helping us gather the paperwork that was needed. Every two to three weeks either Brian or Dr. Ramos would call us to see how my wife was doing and answer any questions that we have. Dr. Ramos reached out to a specialist in Denver to have a second opinion on the loss of mobility that my wife had after the surgery. They found a company to make her a brace and kept in contact to see how her medical appointments were progressing. When we got to mediation both Brian and Dr. Ramos were with us. We were nervous as we had never filed a suit against anyone in our lives, but they assured us that they would be the people to battle the insurance company. At the beginning the insurance company had offered us $80,000 to settle, once Dr. Ramos firm was hired. This would not have even covered the medical bills. Dr. Ramos and Brian fought so hard for us, even having a digital model made up so that the insurance company could be shown how the damage occurred. The medical knowledge of Dr. Ramos was invaluable and I know that without his expertise in the medical field and Brian's tenacious attitude in fighting this big company we would be so far in debt that we would never be able to get out. They realized a settlement for us of $585,000, a huge difference in what was originally offered to us. There is no way that we could have realized something like this without this unbelievable law firm. From the receptionist that greets you at the front counter to the other attorneys that helped and especially Brian Calandra and Dr. Ramos, you will not ever need another law firm. I would recommend this firm to any family member, friend, or person that I find that has had an injury due to a motor vehicle accident. Thank you Dr. Ramos for providing my wife the care, both medically and emotionally. And thank you to everyone at your firm for everything that you did for Kathy and I. We are forever in your debt....

On account of an issue that I had with an FCRA regulated party I was frustrated and knew that my rights had been violated; I needed an attorney that could handle this claim. After finding that Matthew Osborne specialized in FCRA related litigation I was able to get an appointment within a few days. After a quick consultation Matthew was able to spell out what encroachments I was dealing with and how he could help. After paying a small retainer fee, a demand for my case was sent out and after a usual interval of time results were gathered. While all cases are different Matthew was expecting this to drag out into a year and he was able to get a settlement in just under four months; phenomenal work. If your rights have been violated under the FCRA or in any other areas that Matthew represents look no further.

The only thing more devastating than being injured in a car accident was my experience with the Ramos injury firm.
On Dec 26, 2012, I was on my way home from work as a massage therapist and was in an accident caused by another driver who was not paying attention. After the accident, my body was messed up from head to toe. I had whiplash, my vision was blurred, my jaw was out, a rib was out, my neck and back ached, my right ankle, knee and hip were impacted greatly from the force of the collision. I attempted to work through it, but my job was too physical and I was in too much pain to do that job or even stand for an 8 hour shift at a temp agency. This accident affected my entire life! I thought Atty Ramos was the right one to help me get a fair settlement for all I went through. He referred me to a doctor whose solution was to give me steroid injections (instead of actually helping me heal). The office staff were nice, but I was assigned to Atty Jim Colgan. My first sense was that this atty was not going to help me, so I requested to be assigned to a female attorney. I was ignored and after a second conversation with the atty, I again requested another atty. I was brushed off and at the third time I made the request I was more adamant because I knew atty Colgan was not interested in helping me win my case. Again, I was denied and told that 'nobody had ever demanded a different attorney", they refused to change my atty, and I was stuck with atty Colgan who kept making mistakes on paperwork he refused to correct. His attitude toward me was belligerent. He said I lived in Longmont when the accident happened (I lived in Denver). He put that I worked for a company I never worked for. He also stated I was out of work for only a month, when in fact I had been out of work over 6 months. At mediation he told me that I would only have a 10 percent chance of winning my case in court (even though the other driver was at fault and ticketed!) They brought up and old chiropractor's opinion that I wouldn't be able to do massage again after a prior accident even though I was actually doing massage for 9 months already when this recent accident occurred. AT mediation, I spoke with Ramos on the phone and he promised that if I settled there he would not charge me his usual fee and just split the balance with me at the end. I felt dejected that he was unwilling to help me in court, and felt I had no choice but to agree to their low settlement offer. I agreed to his deal as we had a witness in the room. In the end, when I went to collect the final check (I ended up with about 2,300 which did not cover lost wages or future care), I discovered that he did not keep his word and did not split the balance in half as promised. The manager, Brian Calendra spoke to me on the phone and threatened that we could take it to a judge if I had a problem with it. I was told I should be happy with what I got and that they never drop their fee. (I should be happy he didn't keep his word?) I was angry because I knew he wouldn't do what he promised in the mediation. I feel they didn't want to help me in court from the get go and now I will tell everyone I know not to go there. I am actually surprised at all the good reviews and wonder why I was treated so poorly by the Ramos injury firm. I believe it is because I am on the lower income scale and my injuries didn't seem to matter to them. (As a therapist, I only worked part time hours, but made about 50.00 an hour with tips. Now I work 40+ hours at a job in another field.) ALSO, my colleague who did acupuncture on me was sent a check for 800.00, even though she billed them for 2,100.00. I thought that was interesting that they didn't even ask her if she would reduce her fees. She had to contact them to let them know that was unacceptable.
After this experience, I would never recommend this firm or anyone who works for them to anyone.
