Jeffery A Grace responded to my inquiry but had no knowledge of my situation which I provided via email. He seemed not interested in investigating the situation in question. He had invested time in what my My MetLegal policy covered, which he stated was an initial consult not representation. Therefore, he could bill for the 18 minute 33 second phone call and follow-up email which was void of legal consult. He knew enough about my legal obligations to counter my statements but not enough to give legal advise without an investigation to which he never gave me a cost estimate. I would not be interested in any follow-up from this firm based on this review. I would request you not offer any estimate nor reach back out to me.

After searching, speaking, and reviewing lawyers in the local area of Joliet Illinois; I was having a hard time getting someone to commit to my case, which was a minor case with a potential to be moderate. I finally found the best lawyer in the Joliet area Desiree Berg. She was very patient with me, she helped with my anxiety and fear, she gave me advice and recommendations, and guide me through the full process. As long as she is still a lawyer, she will be my lawyer for life. If you are located in the Joliet area, please consider reaching out to her before speaking with any other lawyer in the local area.

2 guys investment LLC, owned by Mr. Hrina, does NOT care who they sell or rent homes to. Currently, there is a home in Struthers Ohio, that has a mother dog and 8 pups locked in the basement and no one lives there. Apparently, Mr. Hrina is selling this on land contract to a man who owns the dogs. These animals are being neglected and Hrina does nothing about it. As a "reputable" attorney, you would think he would pay the back taxes on this property and make sure things like "abandoned dogs" doesn't happen in one of his homes!!!! I applied for the Human Resources Assistant position with Stinson, LLP in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in August 2024. I was called the next day after applying via their online job application on their website. My initial telephone interview was with Chelsea L. Clennan, Director of Human Resources for Stinson, LLP, who's located in their Wichita, Kansas office. Chelsea was immediately complimenting me, telling me that any employer would be lucky to have me, that my skillsets are perfect for the role, that they would move quick for me in the recruitment process, they would make same-day job offers if needed-- immediately raising red flags for me that she was not a genuine person. She immediately moved me on to the second and final stage of the hiring process: the final interview with the hiring manager, the HR manager of the Minneapolis office-- both of whom reported to Chelsea. My suspicions of Chelsea would prove correct when, all the sudden, after letting her know after my final interview on Friday afternoon that I did have another offer, which I'd received the day prior, Chelsea responded to my email quickly, letting me know her and her hiring team would meet on Monday. In her email to me, which I've attached, she even told me her team considered me a top candidate. Monday came and went-- nothing, crickets. Tuesday, I received the attached screen shot email, letting me know they'd meet later that day. I replied, thanked her for keeping me in the loop, even further expressing my gratitude for keeping in touch with me and making me feel respected and valued. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday -- absolute radio silence from Chelsea L. Clennan. I sent a polite follow up email Friday afternoon-- again, I had been ghosted. Not a single reply or word from Chelsea or her team ever since -- despite her shtick of "you're a top candidate" and "we move quickly." I shudder to think how Stinson, LLP employees -- whether in Minneapolis or Kansas -- are treated if Chelsea treated a job applicant -- me -- with what I felt like was pure garbage and disrespect. Personally, I do not recommend Stinson as a place to work based on my experience as a job candidate and how I feel I was treated. When people like the human resources director show you their true colors-- believe them.

I walked in alone to a hearing riddled with anxiety and uncertainty, with no legal representation. Not knowing what was going to be my outcome, especially over a situation that should not have even been brought to a level where court would have been involved, I requested a court appointed attorney. I have never lucked out so much in my entire life than I did that day. Stinson Law firm just so happened to be providing pro bono work that morning and took my case. The two attorneys I worked with not only helped me feel validated in my disbelief that I was even there, but also were the most knowledgeable powerhouse of representation I could have ever asked for. If I were to sum it all up in 3 reasons why I would recommend them to anyone, it would be: Top notch negotiation skills, an unmatched knowledge of the law surrounding my scenario, and for being the most personable, down to earth people, to have the pleasure of working with.

This attorney held on to my case for (5) years and dropped it, she had all of the information she needed to win. This attorney lost photos, medical records and videos (she said) she kept asking me to ask doctors to replace medical reports, I had to pay for my own medical care and I'm still going to the doctor for my injuries. I believe she went to court without me and lost my case, I don't know if she was bought out and walked with the money or not, I do know, she's not to be trusted with anyone's case, she gets a thumbs down from me.

Nan handled my disability case back in 2003, and I just recommended her to a friend of mine. She won my case for Severe Rheumatoid, and I gotta say, she's one of the best attorneys that I've ever met. She took my case and rode it to the finish line. The woman was always on the ball. I had another lawyer before I switched to Nan. That lawyer did nothing at all for me. I'd get paperwork in the mail from Social Security that I had no idea what to do with. I'd call the lawyer to asks questions, but he was never in and would never call me back. Nan, on the other hand, called me every couple of weeks, just to check on me. I really appreciate the time she took with me. At a time when it felt like no one cared, having her call just to check on me realm meant alot. I can't recommend Nan enough!

Navigating a divorce is a complex process, and finding the right attorney is crucial. Unfortunately, your experience with the attorney you hired did not meet your expectations. Despite seeking clarification and guidance, you were left feeling uninformed and unsupported. The attorney failed to sign essential paperwork and did not fulfill promises made at the end of your case, leaving you with unresolved issues and potential legal consequences. It is important to address these matters promptly by seeking a second opinion and documenting all communication. This experience highlights the importance of transparency and professionalism in legal services…. Please do not hire this attorney. It does not waste your headache or a waste of your money.

Stay away from Rauser & Associates! Waste of your time and definitely your money. Took my money then asked about my income. After all this the kept my return for almost a month. After keeping 25% of it for doing nothing. The only reason I am leaving a bad review is because I called another law firm, and the first thing they asked about was my income and told me I made too much. That they couldn't help me and wouldn't waste my time. So if you have any other options I would not use this company. I wouldn't have given them a star but I couldn't leave the review unless I gave them one.

We had an unfortunate experience with Ms. Elisabeth Kovac today, who was seated next to us on a flight from London to Vienna (OS456). As someone who represents a law firm, we expected a level of professionalism and respect, but sadly, Ms. Kovac’s behavior was anything but. Shortly after we took our seats in 9B and 9C (she sat in 9A), she openly complained about us in German via text, describing us as “two 150kg people that smell like sweat.”. My husband and I were appalled by this unkind and shocking comment—especially since my husband’s weight is half of what she claimed, and I have a medical condition that has led to weight gain. None of us smelled, as we had just showered in the Plaza Premium Lounge before the flight. These were blatant exaggerations. Ms. Kovac even attempted to sneakily take a picture of us twice(!), only to awkwardly angle her camera away when she realized my husband had noticed. When confronted, she offered no apology at all. And yes, we have proof of her actions. This experience was deeply disappointing, particularly coming from someone who should be accustomed to dealing with a diverse range of people of different skin colors, body types, and genders in her profession. Such behavior is not only rude but also unprofessional for a lawyer who, I hope, treats her clients with more respect than she showed us. Perhaps in the future, Ms. Kovac might consider flying business class if sitting next to other passengers is so bothersome to her. I sincerely hope this review serves as a wake-up call for better conduct in the future.

What a Copyright Lawyer Can Do for You

A copyright lawyer specializes in helping individuals and businesses protect their creative works by navigating the complexities of copyright law. They assist with registering copyrights, enforcing rights against infringement, drafting licensing agreements, and advising on the fair use of copyrighted material. Whether you're an author, artist, musician, software developer, or content creator, a copyright lawyer can help ensure your intellectual property is legally protected and monetized appropriately.

When Should I Hire a Copyright Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a copyright lawyer in the following situations:

  • Registering a copyright: While copyright protection exists upon the creation of an original work, registering your copyright with the U.S. Copyright Office provides legal advantages, such as the ability to file a lawsuit for infringement and eligibility for statutory damages and attorney's fees.
  • Enforcing your rights: If someone is using your work without permission, a lawyer can help you enforce your rights by sending cease and desist letters, negotiating settlements, or filing infringement lawsuits.
  • Defending against infringement claims: If you're accused of infringing someone else's copyright, a lawyer can defend you by assessing the validity of the claim and representing you in negotiations or court proceedings.
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts: When creating licensing agreements, work-for-hire agreements, or transferring ownership of a copyright, a lawyer can ensure the terms are legally sound and protect your interests.
  • Fair use assessment: If you plan to use copyrighted material under the fair use doctrine, a lawyer can evaluate the risks and advise on compliance to prevent potential legal issues.
  • International copyright concerns: If you need to protect your work internationally, a lawyer can guide you through the process of securing rights in other countries and navigating international treaties.

What Does a Copyright Lawyer Do?

A copyright lawyer provides a range of legal services related to the creation, protection, and enforcement of copyrighted works:

  • Copyright registration: Assist in preparing and filing applications with the U.S. Copyright Office, ensuring all legal requirements are met for successful registration.
  • Legal advice on protection strategies: Offer guidance on how to safeguard your work, including the best practices for documentation and disclosure.
  • Drafting and negotiating agreements: Prepare contracts such as licensing agreements, assignments, and work-for-hire agreements to monetize your work while protecting your rights.
  • Enforcement actions: Take legal steps against infringers, including sending cease and desist letters, negotiating settlements, and litigating infringement cases.
  • Defense against infringement claims: Represent you if accused of infringement, developing defense strategies and handling negotiations or court proceedings.
  • Fair use evaluation: Analyze whether your intended use of copyrighted material qualifies as fair use under the law, reducing the risk of infringement.
  • International protection: Advise on securing copyright protection abroad and complying with international intellectual property laws and treaties.

How Are Copyright Lawyers Paid?

Copyright lawyers typically charge for their services in the following ways:

  • Hourly rate: Many lawyers bill by the hour, with rates ranging from $200 to $600 or more, depending on experience and location.
  • Flat fee: For straightforward tasks like filing a copyright application or drafting a simple contract, some lawyers offer flat fees, which provide cost predictability.
  • Retainer: For ongoing services, a lawyer may require a retainer - a lump sum deposited in advance - against which hourly fees are charged.
  • Contingency fee: In some infringement cases, especially those involving significant damages, a lawyer may work on a contingency basis, receiving a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or judgment.

It's important to discuss payment arrangements upfront to understand the total cost and billing practices.

How Much Does a Copyright Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a copyright lawyer varies based on the complexity of your needs:

  • Copyright registration: Legal fees for preparing and filing a copyright application typically range from $250 to $1,000, plus U.S. Copyright Office filing fees (which are $45 to $85 per application as of 2024).
