I went to John Mesirow in 2011 when working with the driver’s insurance company to settle my personal injury case became difficult. It was my first time going through a settlement process in the midst of recovering from knee surgery as a result of the car accident and preparing to move abroad. At our first and only meeting before I left the US, he put me at ease with his sincerity and kindness and won my trust. He was patient and generous with his time, thoroughly explaining the settlement process to me. I knew that he would represent me with integrity and utmost professionalism. Throughout this difficult process, he and Cory were tremendously responsive to any queries I had and always kept me updated on how my case was progressing despite the 11 hours difference, the poor Skype connections and at times, no internet. I feel truly fortunate indeed to have John represent me. Were it not for him, my personal injury case would not have had such a positive outcome.

I am a Artistic Director, Dancer and Choreographer for local and international artists. I was referred to Mr. Mesirow by a family member after having a lawyer that seemed to not respond to phone calls and required me to do a lot of leg work myself even in my condition after a head on car collision from someone who fell asleep behind the wheel. I received an amazing settlement this year 2014 and all the bills were handled professionally and my check came two days after he made this settlement in which he spent quite a bit of time making sure it was good for someone with my professional back ground as well as covering the possibilities of the injuries affecting me in the future. I would recommend Mr. Mesirow to anyone who needs a lawyer who is professional, personable, knowledgable in many aspects of his profession and simply just there for you. Thank you Mr. Mesirow.

I came to Mesirow and Stravitz after being “doored” on my bicycle in DC in 2013. When the medical bills started rolling in, it was virtually impossible to reach the driver’s insurance company to claim compensation. This was my first time going through a claims/settlement process and John walked me through everything with paramount clarity, transparency, and patience. Although my case wasn’t the most expensive, John and his team were incredibly responsive and attentive to my questions throughout the entire process. I have nothing but praise for these guys! I was struck by a car while riding my bike in D.C. several years ago and was facing large medical, dental, and ambulance bills. Although the driver conceded absolute fault, his insurance company was giving me the run around. I was referred to John by another attorney and member of WABA (Washington Bicycle Association) who was also hit by a car while cycling. As a bike commuter himself, John was sympathetic to my situation and made sure my bike was replaced quickly and my medical needs were fully tended to. He and his partner were always available, quick to reply to emails or phone messages, and good at keeping me informed as things progressed. They were both professional, yet very laid back and easy to talk with. As many others have said, John Mesirow must be the nicest lawyer in Washington; he really does care about his clients and develops great working relationships with them. He even kept tabs on me when I had to move across the country during a major medical illness. Despite many delays on my end, John made sure my case was handled carefully and settled very fairly in the end. I would refer all of my friends and family to Mesirow and Stravitz without hesitation. They are easy to work with and they will work hard for you because they really care.

If you ever need an attorney, this is the firm. John handled my accident case. He was great to work with, he was tough with the insurance company, and he did not back down when they low balled their first offer. John was also understanding. He was always available and he was sympathetic, tough, and my overall experience was a very positive one, given the circumstances. I received a fair settlement, thanks to John!

When I got in a car accident a couple of years ago, I was not sure where to go or what to do as far as seeking out an attorney. He also helped get me a lucrative outcome and dealt with all the hospital bills, medical bills, and phone calls with the insurance company so all I had to do was sit back and get better.
