Chris has been our Attorney since 2002, for various issues. Some were very challenging cases and most recently about a land dispute. I was in an accident where I suffered many injuries and had a long, challenging recovery.
While I was hospitalized my friend kept telling me I needed a lawyer. I did not want to get involved with a lawsuit. I thought the defendant’s insurance would take care of everything and all would work out.
My friend was persistent that I call his friend Jim Leonick and talk about the accident. I finally agreed.
Jim came to the hospital. Within a few minutes of speaking with him, I knew I needed his help.
After signing on with Jim, I was able to direct everything accident related his way. Any questions or concerns I had through the process was answered with just a quick friendly call to his office. I was able to completely focus on healing and physical therapy, worry free.
I honestly don’t know what I would have done without him. Jim and his staff are extremely professional and personable. It felt like I had a friend supporting me that knew exactly what he was doing.
I cannot speak more highly of Leonick law. I will confidently recommend Leonick law to anyone.

Not only does Ben help get your loved ones on Medicaid, more importantly he is able to protect their assets and money as well. Ben set up trusts for my Mom and was able to protect 60% of her life savings from the nursing home she now has to be in long term. Ben was great to work with. I spoke with Brandon regarding a problem I was having with my mother's Social Security/Medicare. He did an excellent job explaining the various items and how I could fix them. When our mom passed, we contacted Bill. He had set up a trust for our parents. But they went to another attorney after that who revised the trust and left it in a real mess. Bill helped us navigate that and other legal tasks that needed to be addressed. He was kind and straightforward, guiding us to do what we could on our own and stepping in as we needed or wanted. After our father suffered a severe stroke, his life changed dramatically. Paying for his newly-needed care was a big challenge. My brother and I started looking into acquiring Medicaid benefits, which was an incredibly difficult task. We soon realized that we needed an attorney that specializes in elder care to help us with this process.
There are hundreds of elder care attorneys in the greater Miami area. We searched for reviews of different firms, but noticed that most of the recommendations were coming from other lawyers and colleagues. We wanted real-world recommendations from actual families, with stories similar to ours. We called Assisted Living facilities in the area and spoke to their managers. Several of them recommended Jason Neufeld with the firm Elder Needs Law.
We decided to work with Jason and his staff. Jason and his staff are extremely efficient. They are very knowledgeable, caring, and responsive. They have answered all of our questions, (special thanks to Tracy Meli) and guided us through this process. Choosing Elder Needs Law was definitely a good decision for us.
The Medicaid application process is very complicated, confusing and time-consuming. We could have NEVER navigated through these many processes by ourselves. Our mother has since declined medically, and now both our parents have been approved by Medicaid, thanks to Elder Needs Law.
Our anxiety about how we can afford their care is gone and we can sleep at night. We highly recommend Elder Needs Law.

In 2021, it became very apparent I needed a Massachusetts estate planning attorney and family law firm to help with multiple matters. Being from out of state, I knew no lawyers in the Berkshires not to mention an arduous selection process searching for an experienced lawyer and firm.
I narrowed my search to attorneys and firms in central and south Berkshire County. With little knowledge, I first contacted Berkshire Law group. My husband and I had gone to Greg Nussbickel in 2017 to write up our Will and Trust. When my husband passed in 2024 I called Greg to look over and make amendments on my existing Trust to make sure my children would avoid probate. We had two telephone encounters, first one to go over what amendments needed to be done and second one to read over those amendments and to change what needed to be changed. WOW! I just don’t have the words to express how grateful I am that Attorney Marcus Sermons agreed to take on the lawsuits brought against me as the executor of my brother’s estate. I live in NH and my brother lived in Florida. Unfortunately, my brother’s biological and estranged child flew into Florida within 24 hrs of his death believing she was entitled to everything… regardless of his will and final wishes. Her deceitful and aggressive actions only added more sadness and trauma to the loss of my brother.
I could say Attorney Sermons gave me 110% or 150% or 200% … but it was more than that.
• First, he took on the case which was already messy from two previous attorneys… and I had been warned by a paralegal friend that no attorney would care to wade into a small, yet complicated estate lawsuit
• Attorney Sermons’ calm, supportive demeanor brought me to tears immediately as I felt heard for the first time in more than a year
• Attorney Sermons not only threw me a life raft, when I was too terrified to get in, he jumped into the water with me! What attorney does that?
• He went above and beyond. He was available, heard me, was kind, and extremely patient as he worked to clarify the misinformation given to me by the two previous attorneys.
I wish my brother had retained Attorney Marcus Sermons to create his will and final wishes. I wish I had found Attorney Marcus Sermons first, as I believe his expertise would have saved me from much of the pain and anguish I endured of having to navigate the hostility of a greedy spoiled child

Turns out, I needed so much more information and helps to set up my life care needs, not just my death wishes. I learned so much but the staff is so helpful. Atty. James Frederick answered a question for me on Avvo and after several phone consultations, I hired him to assist with my father's small estate proceeding in Michigan. I don't live in Michigan, so my case needed special attention and constant contact at points. Over the course of 4 years (due to the nature of the case), Atty. Frederick was always available to me by phone, email, and also at one point readily agreed to travel 2 hours away to a hearing for the estate with minimal fuss. I was wary of handling the process remotely when my case started, but I can tell you that it was handled honestly, professionally, and for what I thought was a reasonable rate. If you are in the Livonia area (or anywhere in Michigan), and need any service that Atty. Frederick provides, you can not go wrong in at least speaking to him about it.
