The worst experience with an attorney ever!! Gave us false advice - and then backed out on his words, even though 2 other people, including another attorney, were present on the conversation. We all heard the same thing. Because of his bad advise we lost a buyer, and took bunch of unnecessary actions. All in all, because of him we lost 70k.
Definitely do NOT recommend.

this guy was gift from God I honestly can say that the way he work in trial was amazing, his cross was on another level he do his job not because he getting pay for watching him fighting the case make you feel like it was him and not you on trial l you know as I always believe you can go to school and try to learn but honestly for u to be good and best at thing you do it has to be in you for example math you can't learn math is either you know numbers or you don't this guy fight as his life was dependent on it he watch every little detail he pay attention every single words been used or said I can give my guaranteed you can't loss with him been on your side and most important thing is he listen to you and do his own investigation on if you telling the truth or liying he was the person after listing to my case look dead in to my eyes and told me I believe you as I said in the beginning his gift from God because he truly is he saw what other ignore it or chose not to look at it it's crazy my whole life I wouldn't never thought that one day I be in this situation just based on greed but as I say God hasn't created a single soul who can knock you down when his holding on to you greed made people to destroy me but God send help to protect me I'm grateful that I chosen him to tell my side of the story. Let me just start off by saying for all the negative reviews left by people it’s far from the truth of what and who Varnum is.
I’ve been a client of Varnum now almost 5 years.
I have personally been in the office and spoke with the receptionist ladies, every time I feel welcomed like I am part of the family.
my children are adored and loved they get snacks and candy and drinks every time. They love going to Varnum when Daddy has to talk or see his Attorneys.

Jon always answers my calls, texts, and emails, he protects me and my family. Best Attorney in America.
Anything I need he does it for my family, he is a true Lawyer who after being 30 plus years with the firm shows what Varnum is really all about and their values and what they stand for.
Varnum isn’t ripping clients off, that’s unethical, Varnum isn’t about doing unethical practices.

If I could put zero I would, Tina with the smoker voice was so rude, threatening and unprofessional to say the least. At first she was very kind but as soon as I told her I didn’t have the $800 she requested she threatened me with foreclosure and then some. What type of people hire someone this ridiculous 😂 and then to top it off she hung up on me twice! She was so rude to me but as soon as I was rude back she had an issue with me. Apparently they do agreements over the phone too? I wasn’t told that I was agreeing to something over the phone. I’m not 11 😭😂 save your money time and peace, instead of dealing with these people who don’t want to do a job but smoke a pack of cigs. She always so refused to put her boss on the phone which is crazy to me considering she’s the damn receptionist 😂

Alan Soven receives a zero-star rating from me. He represented me in a false domestic violence accusation by my ex-wife. Despite having a strong case with witnesses and 911 tapes in my favor, Soven persuaded me to accept a plea deal for 1 year of probation with adjudication withheld, claiming it was the best option to avoid a potential 5-year sentence if found guilty at trial. However, Soven failed to inform me that my record couldn’t be expunged or sealed due to the nature of the charges in Florida. Had I received proper legal advice, I would have opted for a trial instead of accepting the plea deal. Soven’s incompetence has led me to caution against engaging him for any legal matters. He should stick to ambulance chasing cases.

Would rate Zero stars but that is not possible. So 1 Star =Zero stars.
Bad legal advise and Alan Soven does not have a grip on the law. Let me explain, he advised me to accept a plea bargain from the State prosecutor and advised me not to go to trial with a good defense with evidence that I was inocente. He wanted me to accept the plea bargain since it’s less work for him. He did this by instilling fear into me that I would loose the case and go to prison. He assured me that he would simply expunge my record afterward I complied with the conditions of the bargain. He was UNAWARE and uneducated of the the age old law in place, which I later found out, did not allow for me to be able to seal or expunge my record as I had erroneously been lead to believe by the so called attorney, Alan Soven. When I asked him what he was going to do for me, he told me that there was nothing for him to do. Of coarse there isn’t anything to do because he misrepresented to me the law. I would have NEVER accepted the plea bargain if I knew what Alan Soven led me to believe was true... but was not. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Undertaking corruption in a municipality is a daunting task. It was attorney Sovens total commitment and fierce determination that enabled a multimillion-dollar code enforcement scheme to be uncovered and terminated. Enlisting the FBI and going up against a prominent Florida Law Firm not only did Allen succeed but he sacrificed. Because of his aggressive prosecution of my case his office was burned in an arson fire in attempt to silence him and prevent further action on his part. Without his dedication millions of dollars worth of properties would have been seized and no one would be the wiser. My deepest thanks always go to his work and to his work ethic.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of working with Michael Finley on a legal matter regarding visitation rights and child support with my daughter. Initially, I was hopeful as he appeared attentive during our initial interview. However, once he received the retainer fee, the level of service plummeted drastically.
Communication was virtually nonexistent after the initial meeting. I found myself unable to reach him when I had questions or concerns about my case. This lack of responsiveness resulted in a missed court date, which had serious consequences for my case.
Furthermore, Michael Finley failed to advise me adequately about potential legal ramifications, such as the possibility of being held responsible for the opposing party's attorney fees. I was blindsided by unexpected fees and expenses that were not disclosed upfront.
What's most egregious is that Michael Finley violated our agreement regarding the retainer fee. We had agreed that he would notify me if the retainer was about to run out, so I could make an informed decision about continuing his services. However, I was shocked to receive a bill for $25,000, far exceeding what we had initially discussed. The agreement that he had written had been worded to favor his interest. He took advantage of my lack of legalese.
Overall, my experience with Michael Finley was extremely disappointing and frustrating. I felt misled, ignored, and taken advantage of. I would strongly advise anyone considering his services to proceed with caution and ensure that all agreements are documented in writing.
While I cannot recommend Michael Finley based on my experience, I must emphasize that my intention is not to threaten or defame him in any way. Rather, I hope that my feedback serves as a cautionary tale for others and encourages Michael Finley to reconsider his practices and prioritize the needs of his clients in the future.

This attorney is the most unprofessional attorney we have ever encountered. He yells and belittles his clients, not to mention he hangs up on you as a client if he feels you challenge him. We have been working with him for 6 months with no resolution to our case at all. He is non responsive and does not follow up. We have had to track him down to find out the status of our case. His behavior is very unprofessional and we have encountered this multiple times since we hired him.

He was so clear and neat on his advice and explanations but most of all it his generosity what amazed me the most as he spent all the necessary time to make sure I was clear about my situation. I signed a contract with Garrick to be represented back in December 2018. Upon payment of the retainer, I rarely heard back from Garrick on the status of my case. I had to proactively reach out to him for information instead of him keeping me updated.
I felt scammed since there almost was no representation of my case. 16 months later I still don't know where I stand and I'm now out the retainer payment. I hope he doesn't represent all of his clients this way.
I wouldn't recommend Garrick to any friends or family that is looking for a lawyer in the DFW area.

My ex and I split up and I tried to work out things and be amicable, but you know some people everything fight. That's what this was a fight. Unlike the 2 other reviews for me, John was a bulldog. He made sure I got the agreement I wanted and nothing that I did not. He kept me informed, emailed me consistently, and scheduled appointments around my schedule. Then when my ex refused to pay child support he fought in court to ensure I did. After the judge revoked his visitation I was sued by his parents for grandparents rights. I was angry and of course sad because I felt wronged by his family. After fighting that John was honest with me that we were going to win, but did I want that, for my child? Did I want my bitterness to impact his life? Those aren't his words of course they're mine, but he made me realize that my inlaws weren't the problem, my ex was and they did kick him out of their house when they found out he was using which was my issue all along. So I called my mother-in-law, we cried, and we worked it out. Most lawyers may not have been so blunt, but it saved my relationship with them. Although my ex is not around I am still close to my inlaws, even since I've remarried. He was on top of it for me and I'd hire him again if the need arose.

I would never recommend Owen Seitel as Entertainment Attorney. While he give fantastic advice on the initial formation of a company and the traditional dues and don't he's has trouble with listening. I had the feeling that since I'm not an attorney he feels he knows all the answers and all I'm good for is questions. Owen Seitel replies very quickly with an uninformed decision. Without truly listening to your situation, he goes on a rambling binge that covers useless topics. And guess why that is TERRIBLE for you... yup, you guessed it, you'll be charged $395/hour to listen to him talk about a host of issues that do NOT pertain to your current situation. e.g. Owen SeiteI sent me two long detailed emails informing me to send him my LLC operating agreements so he can then obtain my Federal I.D. # and establish separate bank accounts. He told me the bank accounts should be separate so that the funds wouldn't " bleed into " one another. What frustrated me is that I ALREADY formed two separate bank accounts and had he LISTENED to me he wouldn't have spent his time/my money typing an unnecessary email. He then sent me another email asking me to authorize payment for minute books but had he been listening I already HAVE minute books for both companies. I had to Donald Trump (YOU'RE FIRED) Mr. Seitel and search for another Attorney who knows how to listen before replying. I hope you found this information useful.

But when it came time to schedule the hearing for my ex’s third contempt charge for non-payment of child support, Mr. Thibault vanished. No response at all to many many texts, calls, and emails. Mr. Thibault was recommended to me at a time when life was very stressful. My first surprise was that he met with me on a Saturday and from that moment he repeatedly assured me that everything would be fine. He was right. Mr. Thibault also worked with me and around my schedule, and not always on his. I've had lawyers in my past, and until meeting Mr. Thibault, had an opinion that this profession lacked warmth and a personalization of an individuals circumstance. I think what makes a lawyer a great lawyer is in having social skills, a sense of strength, and confidence. I hired this attorney in 2015 to handle a debt dispute. He requested a large retainer (upfront) and did nothing to earn it. He did as little as possible and I waited for results that never came. Ultimately, I had to hire another attorney. I am a elderly lady and every penny counts.

Back in 2010 I was arrested for possession of marijuana. I was called to court, showed up the first time and didn't go back after. I had a warrant out for my arrest and moved to California in 2011. Between then and now, my family in Texas had received many letters and phone calls from the bail bonds threatening to take my family's property etc. Just recently, I decided to take care of this issue. I called Mr. Finkel because he had dealt with a case with my family years back. I was expecting the worst, time in jail and/or a large fine because of additional prior charges. From California, I paid a low, flat rate fee to have Mr. Finkel look at the case and see what he could do for me. He made sure to stay in touch when any new information arose and kept me informed as needed. Initially, Mr. Finkel told me that I would most likely have to turn myself in and do close to 30 days in jail. After sharing more information about a potential bias in my arrest, I heard from Mr. Finkel, in less than a week, stating that the case had been dropped, completely. I am extremely pleased with his services, especially services done long distance. I can't thank him enough!

I hired Ben Scales after consulting with him. Soon as i paid him money Mr Sclaes didnt do anything for me that he promised. Never filed a single motion. Ignored my phone calls and emails. Was hard to get ahold of him. Once i got indicted by the grand jury my court case moved to Seperior Court , then he tells me his job is complete and that If i wante to keep him i would owe $ 5000 fee again. Honeslty this man almost jeopardized my case. I sued him Mr. Scales and he showed up to court and claimed i was trying to get him to participate in a fraud. I couldnt believe the things he said on why he never filed a single motion. Lies.

Got busted with pot at music festival and this guy got my charges dismissed with very little penalty. If I hadn't initially confessed to the crime he could got me off the hook without any charge. Mrs. Snodgrass represented me in my custody case, in which I ultimately gained full custody of my children (which is rare for a father in WV). She was always available discuss issues as they arose and she never gave up on my case. Overall, she was very responsive and diligent. Mrs. Snodgrass was the guardian in my custody hearing. A guardian is suppose to be there for the children and do what is in their best interest and this was not the case. Mrs. Snodgrass barely talked with my children, came to court unprepared, and overlooked my children's concerns (both are teenagers) she basically just talked in circles in court. There was suspected violence by the other parent and it was never investigated (which was one of her jobs). Things had been very trying and I was so overwhelmed and frustrated. I was connected with Rubin and things started to look up. He was very helpful and honest. I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of at all. Every time I reached out to him with a question or concern he replied promptly. In my personal opinion, he's a great attorney. Mr. Rubin did not act in my best interests regarding my case. I had a difficult time reaching him. He is unorganized and does not have the office staff to fully support him. He didn't work my case the way I wanted and instead took too long to finalize my case. I ended up going with another attorney who finished it much quicker.

I hired Mr. Widner as my attorney recently when I was fighting for custody of my son during a messy divorce. Mr. Widner was affordable and consulted with me countless times throughout the process. His senior paralegal, Mrs. Adams, was phenomenal. She was very responsive and reassuring because she could relate to my situation. I contacted Mark for a case of mine that was very similar to a case he had in the past. Long story short, Mark was out of town and could not take my case. However, he gave a lot of free advice that helped me to handle it myself. I used the case law established by his previous case to push for what I wanted - and I got it.
Additionally, there was a very painful personal loss involved in our case. Mark, while traveling, took time to introduce me to other people experiencing similar grief. He was very kind and considerate. I was really moved by his actions, he had no idea who I was and is a very busy man.
If you want a proven winner who also has a heart - this guy.
