I hired Drewes Law for a family to family, as-is real estate transaction so therefore a much more expensive realtor was not needed. I hired them based on the other great Google reviews and it was a great decision!
They explained the process in detail and answered all of my questions up front, then got going on the process while always keeping me in the loop. We were working through a family member who was Attorney-in-fact/Power of Attorney for my grandmother, which slightly complicated things in my opinion but it was never an issue for the Drewes team.
Toward the end there was an issue with the county rejecting some filings, to which Drewes Law reached out to me immediately to let me know, but also let me know they re-reviewed everything and told me they were confident there was no reason for the rejection. They called my county the next business day to which the county recognized the mistake and that it indeed should not have been rejected (mistake due to being down workers/having new workers due to Covid). The County immediately approved and I was sent the Deed a few days later. Excellent work and thoroughness by the Drewes Law Team!
David, Annie and Jonathan were fantastic to work with and I would recommend them to anyone needing Real Estate law representation.
Thanks Drewes Law team for helping us purchase this little piece of paradise that my family and I will continue to enjoy for years to come!

I first met attorney Jennifer Thompson when she was working out of the Meeker County Attorneys office as a prosecutor. She was assigned to a (TPR) Termination of Parental Rights case I was involved in. I had previously been married to the mother of the child in the case, and the biological father in that case was the mother's first husband. The child (was not) my biological child. I independently petitioned the Court, and was allowed into the case as a Joiner in what the Court ultimately deemed was in the best interest of the child. Jennifer, representing Meeker County did not oppose my petition. During the process I became a foster parent to the child. That case was successfully prosecuted by Jennifer which concluded with both biological parents rights being terminated and positioned me to successfully, swiftly, and seamlessly navigate through the adoption process for (my daughter).
A short time later, Jennifer started her own private practice. Once I became aware of that I immediately hired her to file a private (TPR) Termination of Parental rights case involving my biological child with the same mother. Again, Jennifer's skills and abilities were on display and resulted in a successful conclusion at the District Court, and the mothers rights were terminated. That case has now moved to the Appellate Court, and I just received Jennifer's responsive brief to the Appeal.
In short, her attention to detail, technical skills, and remarkable understanding of the (TPR) process, statutes, and supportive case law are outstanding. Her ability to articulate and translate them into a firm foundational argument are impressive. I have complete confidence in Jennifer, and that she will prevail at the Appellate level as well.
I highly recommend Jennifer Thompson to anyone who is attempting to do what is in the best interest of a child.

I appreciated how Ron educated me on the dissolution process. I appreciated that he understood my desire to come up with the most fair, cost effective legal dissolution possible. He was accessible as a person. He has an excellent paralegal who is timely and attentive in her assistance.

He is very honest and knowledgeable not like the others that i contacted that day. He took the time to walk me through my case (a very minor traffic incident) and explained me why it is not worth to retain any lawyer for that matter. I found Matthew through a Google search that led me to a referral site. Not knowing a darn thing about finding lawyers I put in my information and Matthew was the first one to respond; my request was answered in about 20 minutes. From the very first phone call and until my issues were completely resolved he has maintained an excellent level of professionalism, fast responses, and an understanding of my specific needs. Even after resolution he has kept himself very available to answer any question that I've had. My case was resolved as best as possibly could be expected, and even before we knew the answers I was left feeling safer and in more control. Matthew kept me educated as to what was going on and why, and provided a great action plan for me to follow to best resolve the case. I would definitely recommend his services again - and did. I do not and will never regret my decision of having Mathew Thomas Martin represent me as my Attorney concerning a criminal case charged against me for what I beleive was a false accusation.
According to the District Court, my offence level was Misdemeanor, and the Charge was Disorderly Conduct-Offensive/Abusive/Noisy/Obscene tending reasonably to arouse alarm, anger or resentment in others. Charged for the maltreatment of a vulnerable adult for what I believe is completely not true. The report I received from the Police, coupled with the pictures, and complainant witness story did not truely tally with what I believe happened. I wondered how I could come out of the unfaithful charge knowing I had no way to prove them wrong. I contacted my Attorney Matthew Martin and explained the inccident in great detail. He believed me, I trusted him, and we moved forward. He allayed my fears and gave me confidence stating that his investigations and follow-up of my case will be thorough and without baise. However, he prepared my heart saying that the case was a serious and daisy one, but not to be too worried but be cheerful. He worked very hard and tirelessly, making phone calls, collecting materials such as photos from police, 911 call, and creditable statements from various sources. His investigation was thorough and we went to court four times. He argued my case with professional skills and expertise that brought about a successful end result.
I am a happy man today, and very grateful that he was used by God to bring me out of a problem that would have otherwise brought me unimaginable hardship, sorrows and unecessary sufferings.

I had a one hour consultation with Obi Chukwu to have him review a joint petition for divorce that my wife and I had drafted. He had a lot of great suggestions as to how I could improve the language in the joint petition. I called A LOT of different lawyers, law offices and law organizations to try to find the best lawyer to help with the I-130 immigration process I was going to begin. Obi was by far the most responsive, accessible and honest attorney I found. His price was also fair. Before I hired Willow my divorce was never-ending and a complete nightmare. I was almost 3 years into it and being taken advantage financially and custody wise. How could I describe the acrimony of my divorce? Hmmm? Maybe as a dumpster fire, wrapped in a train wreck, placed inside an asteroid hurtling towards Earth. In other words, everything about my divorce was nightmarish aside from my dealings with Willow Anderson.

J. Dudley kindly helped me resolve a case involving supposed 'damage' to an Avis rental car at DLH airport, and he was efficient, professional and timely in his response. Although I am sure it was a minor case for him, monetarily, it was a major headache and financial set-back for me when I received a claim after returning a rental car that there were 'scratches', which included a large, unreasonable bill for repair, LOU and administrative fees regardless of the fact I had photos of the car upon return showing no damages that I had caused, and an eye-witness who also verified in writing that there was no damage to car. Avis customer service dept. would not help me as they claimed that car was independently owned, of which I was never forewarned by Avis or Priceline, and only later learned that company had terrible BBB ratings and multiple complaints by clients for claims of supposed damage to cars after return. I had no leverage to deal with the rental car owner, but J. Dudley resolved the matter in 1 week and the claim was cancelled, which was a huge relief for me. I had felt powerless against a huge rental car company who unscrupulously tacked on various large fees for supposed scratches after car had already been returned undamaged to Avis airport parking lot, and was very grateful for Mr. Dudley very quickly eliminating this claim. I also appreciated that he has a sense of humor, acts human, and treats his clients with respect and concern.

My husband and I have been seeking for the right advice on our complicated and very disturbing case for the parenting time and the child support matter for my 11 year old son. The final order that we've received recently has quiet a few errors and an unexpected order from the judge for my summer parenting time with my son, that we both were extremely dismayed due to the time and enormous financial pressure imposed on us after a long and seemingly very biased procedures with the court. After talking to dozens of laywers including superlaywers in Minnesota, out of desperation, I looked at AVVO site one more time, and Mr. Whelpley caught my eyes with his 40 years of experiences in various fields of expertise. I called him hoping that he would be different from all the other laywers who gave me the same brief advice.
Mr. Whelpley, not only gave us the entirely different approach from all other lawyers, but also was more than willling to listen to me and talk to me way longer than I usually expect from lawyers in general for an initial consulation. He did not push me timewise nor was reluctant to give me the poignant reality check on the judge(s) in a very calming way and on how I should proceed when facing a difficult situations with a judge. His advise was very wise, calming, and also very 'strategic'.
His military background also helped us a lot due to the unique situation that we are in as a military family, which was completely ignored by the court.
Mr. Whelpley was the only lawyer who was more than willing to listen to you and give you the new perspective on your case WITHOUT hurrying you to "finish-the-phone-call-and-hire-the-lawyer(me)-immediately-if-you-want-to-talk-more" kind of way.

Jim Whelpley is a very good Bankruptcy Attorney. It is definitely his calling! During the process of my filing Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, there was a point where I was feeling very sad and over-whelmed and I started to cry. Jim gave me a book to read that listed the names of people throughout history and their lives who had filed bankruptcy (many of these people were people we admire even today!). That book made me feel a lot better!
I also appreciated Jim's sense of humor. He has kind of a dry sense of humor (sort of like Johnny Carson) which is very funny and very often helped to lighten the mood.
Jim has definitely found his "niche" as a Bankruptcy Attorney, and I am grateful for his expertise in helping me find a peaceful life!

In 2012, my husband and I were in a bad car accident that landed us in a level-1 trauma center in Minneapolis. Only a few hours after arriving I received a call from my nephew, a prominent lawyer in Philadelphia (PA), who instructed me not to speak with any lawyers until he found me "the best" in the Cities -- and he was true to his word. John Dornik came highly recommended and has certainly lived up to his reputation. Not only did John prove himself to be a deft negotiator with a masterful grasp of injury law, he is a warm and compassionate human being who never thought twice about making himself available to help us navigate the endless medical and disability forms, or to simply offer a word of encouragement or advice. It is no understatement to say that I'm not sure what we would have done without him!
And when it came to negotiating the settlement, he made sure we understood the process and that he had a clear idea of our goals. With the insurance company, he was firm and reasoned.

I hired Gabriel to help with a Workmen's Comp. case. He was very professional, easy to get a hold of, and returned phone calls quickly. He had a lot of knowledge in the process, and what I should or should not do with my current employer.
