If I could give him no stars I would. We paid him $500 for nothing. We sent him all the paperwork he needed in June. We asked if there was anything else we needed to do and he said no. Then in August we sent sent emails and never hear back. Finally after leaving a few voice mails he left a message saying nothing has been done and thank you for reminding me about it. After all of that he couldn't get the case re-opened. Find someone else to hire. He is worthless.

When I requested to see video evidence from the state he said “we don’t want to upset the state.” For 6 months I asked him to meet and discuss the case, once he finally agreed to a date, he cancelled the day before saying “things are very fluid around here. It’s difficult for me to be at a specificplace at a certain time.” I said “you mean like here tomorrow at the time we agreed on?” He said “yes, I’m glad you understand.” Then hung up. He will lie and tell you anything to get you off his back. Every day in court begins with someone firing him. I took an open plea to avoid him dragging my case out any longer.

My husband and I did an extensive search for an immigration attorney, we found Anna through a good recommendation but from the beginning she did not give me a good impression, she made an appointment with us for more than an hour and a half and she just went in circles the whole time, never getting a concrete answer, it does not seem like she has any knowledge of the subject and knows 100% of what she is talking about, after that appointment she charged us $300 for just talking more than necessary, she told us that if we wanted to be in charge of our process for my husband's green card she would charge a fee of $5000 (which my husband paid the next day) Mrs. Anna never sent a receipt that she had received the $5000 fee, she never said anything, after 1 month I contacted her to see if she had received the money and there was an option to start the process and she did not answer the phone or the emails that my husband and I sent her, we called her daily and nothing happened, a month went by until one day she finally responded giving an excuse that she was not a lawyer. Without any professional ethics, she said she had a client in jail and another client in the hospital (I don’t understand why she’s so busy), why is she seeing new clients??? Then she apologized and asked for a second chance (which I never agreed to), but my husband trusted her and gave her a second chance. Then I insisted on being able to have an appointment with her to see if we could finally start the process, she finally agreed but gave us a super random appointment because she said she was very busy, we got to her office and again she just went in circles, she never showed confidence in herself and she never showed that she was a good professional that we could trust, at the appointment she said that she was going to send us a link to open an account with immigration and a letter to go to some medical exams. Then 3 weeks went by and I never sent anything, for 1 week I've been trying to talk to her and again she doesn't answer the phone or emails, we tried to give all our trust to this lady who says she is very PROFESSIONAL but it doesn't seem like it, the truth is I'm very disappointed that she didn't take us seriously and we waited for her until the end, my husband and I decided to start the process with another lawyer who does have the time available for our case and we just want our money back. I don't recommend her at all!!!!!! I hope people like her aren't willing to have new clients and play with people's time, I never felt supported by her. I hope she gives us our money back because she simply did NOTHING!!! Bad experience with this person

Mary is not a good lawyer, she doesn't return phone calls or e-mails, she seemed to put me and my divorce on her back burner through the whole process. She told me she would finish up additional paperwork which she did not do, and doesn't even return my calls when I leave messages to ask about it. Also gave me misinformation when writing up my decree that caused me to have to change my name back to my maiden name when I DID NOT want to do. I would not recommend her to my worst enemy for any kind of legal aid or even advice.

I would not recommend this attorney. At first, I thought Erica was polite, compassionate, and professional. I had hired her to assist me in modifying child support and child custody arrangement from a divorce 6 years prior. She thoroughly explained the process and my options. She sent a proposal to modify the arrangements based upon his life circumstances (significant wage increase, living thousands of miles away). His response included inaccurate information and personal correspondence that was incomplete. Upon receiving this response from my ex-husband, I provided her with a set of documents to counter, which she stated she had submitted. Upon losing a portion of the case, I spoke to her afterward and said I was surprised the judge ruled that way given the provided documentation. She replied, "Me too." I then received a thousand dollar bill from her 2 months later that she did not inform me of, which I requested an itemized list. I received the list that did not include the response. Afterward, I requested the files and found out that she had lied and failed to submit a counter.

I was a client of Matt Menge. I was very disappointed with his lack of assertiveness in representing me. He seemed more concerned about the other party's feelings and interests. I asked him to pursue a financial matter pertaining to my case and he refused. I asked him not to attend mediation and he did which cost me an extra $500. I dismissed Matt as my attorney long before the case was settled as he did not represent me well.

I've gotten 2 warrants over his service. They (him and his secretaries)play with people's lives like it's a joke or a game. I called his office for one week straight and got a text saying everything is good until July. So I assumed that meant court dates. My mailing address on my initial app said general delivery!! no secretary noticed that while Mailing me any court documents!!! Bc they have not mailed me a single one stating when we have court!!! I also got a warrant over not signing a rule 42 paper. All I had to do was sign A paper!!! No sorry for having to sit in jail for that either so I'm not sorry this review is staying on Your record the way you gotten my record up there as well!!! If I could write a legal secretary a review I would as well. I do not recommend Justin or his team or any affiliates now or in the future. If he works like he does now on cases you'll never win. I realize hes a court appointed and is not gonna work nose to the grindstone but c'mon. What do you do all day besides go to court and not call ppl back.??? You played with my life and my freedom too many times and now I get to get my say! And what I'm saying is the honest to god truth so help me God. Is his lack of work ethic and diligence have anything to do with my lawsuit against this towns bias PD?? I believe so but can't prove it. Well here u go Justin take one for the blue team. And take a gander at my go fund me ppl. Bc how can a group of minorities that only make up about 4% of the population (native Americans) be so overly represented on busted newspaper!!??? ( I don't trust the data from the arrest records cities own hands it's dirty and I'll prove it!! In a sample study of just a mere 100. Natives made up 35% of busted newspaper!!! That is abnormally high and my sample studies on my FB prove this. Caucasians make up 86% of the population and their not targeted the way Native Americans are targeted. That's why they back the blue! I have data from the US census, cato.org, busted newspaper, national registry of exonerations on my FB that proves this towns pd racially profiles and targets native Americans. Help me win my case and be more diligent and fair and I'll come back to my review and state what happened. And leave more stars. Thank you for you help thus far. It hasn't been much and you know it

Arrogant and inadequate. Per ND Supreme Court, Attorney Criag fails to adequately brief appellate issues: Landis v. State 2024ND17 (Actual & Legal innocence, Judicial Error, Prosecutorial misconduct issues not briefed at all- Makes a person wonder if Craig endorses intoxicated drivers hurting/killing people as Landis was hit by an intoxicated driver that died but charged, tried, and somehow convicted of Negligent Homicide even as the sober driver not committing a crime) Craig did, however, adequately brief trial court's error of granting summary judgment regarding Ineffective assist. of counsel issue Unfortunately, the ND Sup. Court rendered a decision contrary to well-established State and Federal laws. Lavallie v. State 2019ND119 Inadequately briefed I.A.C claim.

For someone who is supposed to be the voice of victims, I have never spoken to, heard from his office ( unless I call them) , no updates, no arrests and now that my abuser is in a different state my case, my family being repeatedly disrespected and violated with no act or resolution, and complete lack of any empathy have been an absolutely unacceptable!!! Victims should be helped instead of being told they don't matter now that he is no longer living here but is still violating his PO on multiple occasions. ND needs to do better and THIS is NOT how you should ever treat a victim. I'm tired of being silent and someone needs to speak up for those who have already given up because clearly Josh Traiser will NOT!!!!

Can I give negative stars? I just watched this judge deny a military member the right to accept an assignment leaving the state of ND in a child custody case, when neither the plaintiff or defendant is a resident of the state. He was definitely not equipped to hear this case. Military personnel beware!!! Plus, I found it super disrespectful that the Judge took part in the questioning and asked the mother if her career was more important than the dad having access to his kid. I guess the judge wasn't worried about her being able to take care of her kid...who needs a job right?... Or the fact that the dad just started visiting his kid 4.5 months ago, missing a year of his life and refusing to provide child support. This judge and the dad have something in common...

Garbage judge. He gave probation to a woman who molested her own child. The details of the case are horrifying, but she got credit for time served—which was only 315 days!

Been a year this month since we filed paperwork to press charges against someone. Keep getting the same excuse it's in my stack of papers to review. Never can get a return phone call never can get a straight answer. I guess I'll just have to eat the $16,500 that I had stolen.

Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?

Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
