There is no finer family law attorney than Kevin Taylor. He fights for me EVERY TIME. He fights for me when I want to give up. Rarely does he ever not answer my calls, and his team are so responsive. If you have lost hope, call Kevin. He's smart and funny as hell, more than that he will NEVER blow smoke. He's as real as they come. You're not done yet, call this man. Let him fight for you. We love you Kevin, see you soon!

Wish I could say something good about this attorney or the experience I had with him, but unfortunately I can't. I won't go into everything on here, but this attorney will promise you the moon and stars and not deliver. He will lie to your face, has no accountability, a very grandiose opinion of himself. My ex was in contempt for almost 2 yrs and thank goodness for his attorney that made my ex do what he was supposed to do out of the divorce decree and made things right. Pretty sad when the other person's attorney indirectly did the right thing for me and mine did nothing of what he promised to do. I'm so thankful my friend and I recorded everything, kept texts and emails. So, we had proof for the Bar Association to investigate this attorney.

The firm does not care about morals or ethics. I used Taylor Stein as my attorney for a couple of years and he did nothing to advance my case. He let the opposing counsel continuously set court dates for us then cancel them. The firm’s secretaries are no better, I have been talking to Amy for months concerning my money back due to no services being given, she will lie and even just not respond to you. I have contacted the BAR and KSWO to let people know how this firm operates. Your money will be “in the final stages of being refunded” for months. CROOKS!

I have bee. Calling my attorney for days and can nor get them to call me back. I am currently in treatment out of state had court in witch the judge and DA as well as my attorney knowing I wasn't going to be there for my court and was faxed all the paper work showing where I am I'm treatment and because his secretary's not paying attrition or him one caused a warrant t o be put outfox my arrest. When I called with my counselor she tried to say we didn't fax all the paper work in but once she went ro his office and found we had stared to crawl dead backwards about it and said she would tell my attorney and contact the courts in which never happend. The courts told me my attorney would ha e to come and have it lifted but will not return my calls nor have the warrant lifted due to his mistake so I don't have anything good to say about the man.

Jesus wept. John 11:35 Gilmartin is ethically and morally bankrupt IMHO. He was worried about paper on the floor in a picture, but was careless with a could care less attitude about child psychological abuse and child neglect. Child that had oozing wounds on scalp from neglect of counter-parenting custodial parent. Tried to blame me for counter-parenting custodial parents neglect. Child abuser by association and in my opinion should be in prison. Then he has the gall to talk about freedom and the loss of rights on Facebook. Disgusting person that only cares about $$$. Child Psychological Abuse by the criminally insane is not in the best interest of a child. https://youtu.be/brNuwQNN3q4?si=zT_ckoVLfjOBVDQj Children who are alienated and fiercely defend their abusive parent often do so due to complex psychological dynamics. This behavior can stem from a variety of factors, including: ‼️ Trauma Bonding: Children may develop a strong bond with an abusive parent due to the cyclical nature of abuse, wherein moments of kindness or normalcy are interspersed with abusive behavior. This can create a sense of loyalty and attachment to the abusive parent. ‼️ Manipulation and Coercion: Abusive parents often manipulate and coerce their children into defending them, either through direct emotional manipulation or by instilling fear of consequences if they speak out against the abuse. ‼️ Self-Preservation: Children may defend their abusive parent as a means of self-preservation, especially if they fear retaliation or abandonment if they speak out against them. ‼️ Psychological Defense Mechanisms: Children may employ psychological defense mechanisms such as denial, rationalization, or dissociation to cope with the cognitive dissonance of loving someone who harms them. ‼️ Identity and Belonging: Children may identify strongly with the abusive parent as a way to maintain a sense of identity and belonging within the family dynamic, even if that identity is tied to abuse. ‼️ External Influence: External factors such as societal norms, cultural beliefs, and pressure from other family members or authority figures can also influence a child's defense of their abusive parent. It's essential to approach these situations with empathy and understanding, recognizing the complexity of the child's emotions and experiences, and providing them with appropriate support and intervention to address the underlying issues of abuse and alienation. #letthemlovestopparentalalienation #ParentalAlienationSyndrome #StopParentalAlienation #parentalalienationawareness

Hired this bunch for tax resolution and after two years of no calls, no emails, no resolution, etc., dropped them and hired an actual trax attorney that solved my problem with a simple letter to the IRS. DO NOT give these people any money, you will be in for a severe disappoinment if you do. Look at their reviews on anyplace other than their website and you will se the true ranking of these people. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Save yourself some cash.

OMG! This has bee a full-fledged nightmare! These people are the absolute worst! Husband and I both had lost our jobs due to the Covid mess. We had to use our savings and cash out our 401k’s just to make ends meet. Still unemployed we sought their services to help with our tax situations paying them $4000 we really didn’t have. They assured us that they could most definitely help us with our tax bill of approximately 17k, especially due to our unemployment status at the time. Weeks went by, then month and now here we are 4 years later they have done nothing but make our nightmare worse! Their communication is horrendous! I cannot tell you how many people for the OKC office we have been through. They never call you back and/or takes days to return an email with absolutely no news and never any good news. The promises they made and never kept. We are sick to our stomach because we are now employed for almost 2 years now but making about 50% of what we were prior to losing our jobs. In the meantime, our penalties continue to grow and now we own close to 30k and were recently told that the IRS is not willing to negotiate our tax bill and that we must pay it plus the penalties. Why…. because we apparently now make too much? WTH!! This should have been fixed 2 ½ years ago! Where is our recourse???

When I was fostering I hired Phillip Owens. I told him many times the games DHS was playing because I wanted him to know what he was up against so he knew how serious it was. I did tell him a lot because he needed to really be on top of it. As I was talking he just kept smiling & then looked at my husband & said ‘is she always like that’ & laughed. Within the first 2 minutes of court I knew we’d lose because he was so unprepared. We did lose & when we left the hearing he said ‘Wow, I’ve never seen them go after a client like that before’. Thanks Phil, if I could give zero stars I would. I could not care less that he sued for the money we still owed on the case he did nothing on. I even paid the balance in full WEEKS BEFORE the court date. Once a foster child has been with you for a while they become your own. When they leave it is the equivalent of having a child die and times that now by two (I had 2 beautiful girls). I have been mourning my loss ever since, it is horribly painful to talk about and that is why it took me so long to leave a review. I hired him because of his 5 star reviews but he has the bad ones removed. This is a fact because he did it to mine also.

I had my 2 children taking from me by DHS. I had full custody and their mom kidnapped them and threatened to leave the state if I called the cops and didn't let her keep them for the weekend. Out of fear I made the horrible decision to not call the police. Long story short Mr. Owens was very clear what I needed to do, what to expect, and most importantly he always returned my calls promptly. I highly recommend

Phil Owens has represented me multiple times in several hearings involving a very complicated divorce, as well as a personal injury "friendly suit", and other important legal matters. Mr. Owens worked miracles in my divorce, and was a calming influence during stressful hearings, always remaining collected, and redirecting me towards my goals, when I became needlessly focused on the opposing's distracting tactics. He always responds quickly to my calls, and genuinely cares about my situation. I highly recommend Mr Owens.

Michelle was recommended to me, by a coworker in my US military unit. He said that she represented him very well, in his divorce case. I am thankful that Michelle accepted my case. (By the way, she has a great staff, as well.) I was going through an unwanted divorce, after 30+ yrs of marriage. Michelle listened well, understood the situations, and coached me on options. I told Michelle that I did not want to be vengeful or hurtful toward my wife, and Michelle understood, and helped me navigate that path. The divorce was dragging on, and she helped create some forward momentum, to get the process going again. She negotiated some great wins for me, in the divorce process, helping greatly my financial future. Michelle is a "go-getter", with "bulldog tenacity". She is fast-paced and aggressive (in a good sense), and was honest with me, when I needed that kind of coaching. She is fair and sensitive, and is dedicated in working towards a favorable solution for her client. The mediation process was an interesting experience, but again, Michelle represented me well through that, as well! I'm a 30yr veteran of the military, and recognize people who are skilled, and do their jobs well. Michelle is one of those people! I highly recommend her!!!

Michelle was appointed to my divorce case and almost acted as a second attorney for my ex wife. Her bias was beyond obvious to all parties. Not only did she defend my ex wife’s marijuana use in court (a violation of the temporary order), she also discarded a failed alcohol test after her weekend with the kids and ignored every single concern I had about the kids well being, both mentally and physically. Michelle is a disgrace to her profession. If she is assigned your case, fight it as hard as you can. Your kids will thank you one day!

I was referred to Matt by another professional for divorce proceedings. He was so thoughtful and kind and encouraged me to let my emotions settle before proceeding. This was such a different response than what I expected. I felt like he was definitely looking out for my best interest. If you want to hire an attorney who has a heart I highly recommend Matt. He has a lot of wisdom and a tender heart. However, I have no doubt that he is a fierce defender of his client. I was blown away!

Hired Mr Sifers. Had a Dui in Oklahoma in Custer County. I reside in Texas. After continuing the case a couple times, he advised me we missed a court date because they didn't notify him, so had to rush to Oklahoma to go in front of judge because the court was upset. Ending up pleading guilty because he didn't really seem to fight for me. Also guilty plea came with suspended sentence, so have to wait 5 years to expunge it. Didn't even fight for deferred sentence! Also had to have breathylzer for a 18 months but found out after 6 months that law had changed(google search) and that I could have had that removed about a month after it was installed, but a good attorney should let you know that. My case: NO BLOOD DRAW, only sobriety test and video of myself in police car. I was never shown the video, and he never seemed to fight or say the police did anything wrong with their procedures.( Hard to believe) Also found out later that his son had been charged in the same court, and had received probation. So looks like I took the fall for the previous probation case.

I see these bad reviews here and I don't understand why people should get nasty after receiving services. I have a long history with her. She was never what these people say. Refuses to answer the phone or reply to messages unless they are relevant to her getting paid. Absolutely did not do anything I requested from my divorce, which was literally only reimbursement for fraudulent activity, while assuring me that she would make it happen, but when it came time to sign paperwork, absolutely neglected to inform me of the situation, so I now have literally tens of thousands of dollars of debt I did not accrue. Plenty of better lawyers around here, pick any of them for a better experience.

We are extremely dissatisfied with Driver’s Legal Plan service. I called twice yesterday to confirm the correct court date and was assured by two different customer service representatives that it was scheduled for 08/13/2024. However, we have since received an official email from the attorney’s office stating that the court date was actually transferred to 08/27/2024. We are extremely disappointed that Driver Legal Plan cannot provide accurate information. I called a third time today and was unable to reach a manager to discuss this matter. The support representative abruptly hung up on me, which is unacceptable. We have a large number of drivers and strive to assist them with citation-related issues. Driver’s Legal Plan inability to provide reliable information is creating significant challenges for us.

He lied to me and my family about a case which caused the state to pick up the charges then didn’t show back up to represent or defend me. I have paid the price for a crime I did not commit with people to testify to that. I still suffer because he misrepresented me. I very strongly feel uncomfortable recommending him to anyone after that. This is an old client of his from 2016.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
