Joe Lenti was in charge of our Title transaction on the purchase of our new home. From the very start of the process we did not have a good experience. Our mortgage lender contacted his office office for two plus weeks without receiving a response. Throughout the process Joe felt it was better to argue about how he was right, rather than how to close the transaction on time and without additional cost to us. Our closing was delayed and cost me an additional $700. I expressed my frustration to Joe and asked to be compensated for the delay and additional cost we incurred due to his mistakes, but he refused and told me to go elsewhere if I was unhappy. Unfortunately we were in a rock and a hard place needing to close on the home before we lost our deposit and interest rate lock. I am very disappointed with Joe’s service and unprofessional behavior.

You have many, many options when choosing to hire legal counsel not only in the Orlando area, but in the state of Florida. With all of those options, it can be overwhelming to find the right match for your needs. With Lawrence Steiner & his firm, you need not look any further. This firm is one that prides itself on offering extensive experience, expertise and knowledge of the law as it pertains to their clients' needs. Mr. Steiner exemplifies someone with integrity, strong ethics and his client's needs are always paramount. I have known Mr. Steiner and his dynamic staff both personally and professionally for decades. He is always my first choice for my own personal needs, but I feel at ease referring clients, friends and family to him as well and have done so for decades. I know he is going to do whatever is in the best interest of his clients. Mr. Steiner is always available to assist, answer questions and his staff is an amazing support system for not only Mr. Steiner, but for all of his clients. Transactions are always handled swiftly and professionally, his fees are reasonable and typical, industry standard fees. Mr. Steiner and his firm is the only consideration for legal real estate and or estate matters in the Orlando area and state of Florida I would consider.

I recently had the displeasure to do business with this "firm." Expecting to do business with a professtional legal office, I instead encountered something more akin to a family run boiler room. Not only was this office extremely unprofessional, but they over billed me for the privelege of doing business with them. In return I received little to no communication, time delays from their end, and demands that I return documents with as little as 3 hours notice. When I decided I could not complete my project at their current snail's pace, I had little choice but to travel a great distance and attempt to do business face-to-face. Unfortunately, I was to be yet further disappointed when, upon my arrival, I found this "professional office" to be locked and closed on a weekday afternoon. In addition, I requested routine documents from their office, both via email and telephone, and ultimately had to retrieve them from their client personally. Perhaps their reluctance in providing me with said documents was because they clearly showed their excessive fees charged to me, easily double the industry standards. On the rare occassion I was able to reach a live person on the phone to voice this concern, I was greated with arrogance, distain, and a complete unwillingness to cooporate. If you are considering doing business with this firm, I urge you to reconsider. You will save yourself time, money, and headaches.

My wife and i were Looking to modify a child support arrangement and time sharing agreement and found this office. Both the attorney and paralegal were nothing but professional and responsive. Absolutely excellent service and would definitely recommend. Every question was answered and every document sent in such a timely manner. We expected to be going through this process for a couple months and it took only a couple weeks.

I have left several messages wanting a status for my case. I am a struggling single mother and coming up with a retainer over three thousand dollars is no easy task. He makes time to bring you in, and acts so desperate to sign you up like a car salesman. I should of listened to my guts but again when you are desperate... It been a month and nothing from his office! Stay away!

I was going through a landlord tenant dispute over the return of a security deposit. The landlord was trying to basically ripped me off from money owed back to me that I was legally owed. Within days mr. Lee was able to communicate with the landlord and do what was necessary to get my money. He stayed on top of it and was very professional. I would recommend him and you can again.

I hired Mr. Lee for a housing issue I was having. He told me he would write a letter to the other party indicating the concerns I was having as well as the statute that held them liable. I gave him the statute that i had gotten from another attorney so he didnt even have to look it up. After i hired Mr. Lee he attempted to contact the other party. When they would not respond he told me I needed to contact them and said he would help me write the letter. The letter he helped me write included the wrong statute and he assured me it was a different one that would help me. The letter was very simple, not aggressive or assertive enough for the issue. The other party replied with a response that the statute was invalid which after i looked it up I also found out that was true. Instead of addressing that and writing another letter with the correct statute Mr. Lee proceeded to drop me as his client and tell me he did not have the knowledge to assist me any further. He should have told me that from the beginning. I wasted my money and should have paid more for a better more experienced lawyer. Mr. Lee got me as a client because he seemed like a nice guy but trust me when I say you dont want him as an attorney. I now owe $3600, lost my case, and lost a lot more than that in the process. I had no time to hire another attorney by the time i realized Mr. Lee did not know what he was doing. Mr. Lee could have easily rubuttled to the other party's response with the correct statute and called them out on the laws they were not following. Instead he dropped the ball and left me stranded!!!!! He NEVER did that and thats what I hired him to do. He never should have taken my case and should not be an attorney if he cannot fight for a client's rights. I hope other people see this and do not lose like I did by hiring him.

After a 30 minute telephone consultation with this attorney, he stated he would call me back within 24 hours to provide me with the legal assistance that he claimed he had within "fingertip distance concerning thousands of attorneys" that could help with the issues I had brought to his attention. After I waited over a week for his return call that never took place, I made several calls to his office for him to return my calls. He has never returned my calls. Due to the failure of Reed not to call me back as he stated he would and his failure to return my several calls I would not recommend to anyone to retain him in any capacity. The above facts clearly make this a negative experience for myself due to I have not received any legal assistance at all from Reed or anyone else.

Perfect line for this attorney is that he is Robber who extorts money by using his law degree. He is one of the attorney who thinks it’s OK to charge $1500 for 4-5 emails that were exchanged because the crooked HOA he worked as an attorney for refused to take care of any issues and only way to resolve was to get in touch with the attorney and violation was for something that does not even state in CCR’s and he feels totally OK about cheating and never sending any invoices after many requests. Karma has a way to come back to bite you and it will.

I hired Mr. Lee based on a recommendation by another attorney, this was a HUGE mistake. I cannot ever get a straight answer out of him. When working through a settlement, he suggested I settle with the child support the other attorney offered. He stated it was a good offer. What he failed to do was actually run the numbers through the child support worksheet which when all was said and done, I am paying almost $200.00 more a month than I should be. Not only that, but he did not file ALL the required paperwork needed and months later I am paying $500.00 dollars additional every month until the proper documentation is put through the courts. With that said, I call him an average of 3 times a week, his response is always "it will be filed this week". Yet NOTHING is ever filed! The amount of money you loose with this attorney is unbelievable. At this point, I could have hired one of Orlando's top attorneys as every week I continue to loose more money.

I retained Mr. Lee last year for a fairly low rate. He started "working" on my case as soon as I gave him the 2nd part of the retainer and that was about it. He doesn't return calls, he cuts me off when I try to explain things to him, he says he will send this, email that and never follow through. 1 year later and I am still lost in this process. When I was going to drop him, he moved my case a bit and we got something done. Unfortunately, I went to the courthouse today and discovered my ex has filed over 10 different documents in court with copy to him and I have never even known about these documents, all were sent to Mr. Lee via copy. I even appear as a "no show" at a mediation date I was never told by Mr. Lee. It is unfortunate enough to go through a bitter divorce but to give your money to someone you think can help you and then only hurts your case is terrible. The only reason I wrote this review is because I would NEVER want another person to waste their precious money on an irresponsible lawyer like him. The only good thing is that with 40+ yrs of experience, he does know the people in the court: mediators, lawyers, judges, etc...but that's it.

She gave wrong advise, that too outside her field of expertise. I merely went for consultation, did not sign any retainer, and she still tried to manipulate my file (without my permission), so that I would have no option but to go back to her. Its like you go to a heart doctor, who is not qualified to operate on your kidney, but regardless starts operating on your kidney, without your permission. Highly unprofessional. In fact, I am thinking about reporting her to the bar, so she could not continue such behavior with other innocent clients.

He smooth talks you and does all the upfront work so he can get paid. He does all the initial filings then drops you like a bad habit. He failed to submit paperwork on our “supposed” behalf to the board of trustees and they filed to have our case dismissed. Numerous emails and phone calls were unanswered/unreturned and I had to do all the work myself. Don’t hire this scumbag.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
