My wife passed away on August 12, 2016. Our living trust was 5 years old on August 11, 2016, so on completion of the necessary trust administration occasioned by my wife’s passing, I agreed to a restatement of the trust to reflect pertinent changes which had taken place in the 5 years since the trust was formed.

My wife and I established separate trusts and updated estate documents through an effort that was completed in October 2017. In December 2017 my wife exhibited maladies that were diagnosed as Metastatic Melanoma. After several weeks in hospice, she passed away on Christmas Day 2017.
How quickly one's world can be turned upside down....and how grateful I have been to have had current, complete estate documents through which I can, as trustee, manage the resulting estate affairs.
Colleen Prosser, along with Crystal, helped us to update our estate documents. It was very comforting to have someone like Colleen who has extensive background in estate law to formulate and implement a trust structure and provisions that allows effective management by me as trustee.
The carefully crafted documents also lay the groundwork for transition to alternative designated trustees should I pass or become incapable of decision making. These documents provide piece of mind that I am leaving a "tight ship" that can be easily passed on and sustained.
Colleen was very helpful in assessing approaches that best fit our assets and financial resources. As with everyone my wife and I met at Sinclair Prosser, she was very competent, pleasant, patient, and helpful.

This review is about 3 years late. Ms. Alexander represented me on a violation of parole-- and won. Her representation was brilliant- using several approaches to defend my innocence. I hired Maria to represent me in a case that was the result of a car accident where I suffered medical injuries. The case went to court before a judge. Maria did an excellent and through job of representing the facts of my case to the judge. She was extremely well prepared, competent and organized. She spent many hours collecting all of the background information and detailed medical records. All of the materials were put together and analyzed to support my case.
I was able to receive a fair judgement to pay my medical bills and reimbursement for the time I needed to take off from work for treatment.

Mrs. Petterson is an outstanding attorney. From the start, she seemed genuinely interested in my case. She is very patient and a great listener! There were times I felt like I was rambling on about my case. She never rushed me and made me feel like my case was as important as any case she ever had. Where do I start? We were lucky to be referred to Mr. Darrow when we thought our case had little hope of being favorably resolved. Being from out of state (Illinois), we were worried that our case would be taken with a grain of salt. Not Mr. Darrow. He was detailed, fierce, intense and honest with us from the beginning. I have used Matthew for two cases; criminal and DUI. My first case was very complicated. There were unusual circumstances and laundry list of charges. I had never been in a situation like that, never planned to be and had no idea where to turn.
Another attorney, which I couldn't afford, recommended another lawyer to me. I called Matthew explained my circumstances and he didn't shy away. Infact I think he was excited by the challenge and thats what makes him an outstanding attorney. Similarly, Matthew is very personable and authentic. He is true to his "About" section. He understands we all have complicated lives and does a great job at keeping them from getting more complicated.
I thank Matthew for minimizing my charges and preserving my ability to work. Many places I work require background checks and one of my biggest fears was being denied work because of my circumstance. Seventeen years ago I met John due to the child visitation/support issues I faced. He took everything I had to say into consideration and explained my rights as a parent while keeping the best interest of the kids in mind. He even indicated that his services may not be needed but that he would be willing to assist if I was uncomfortable speaking in front of the judge.
Hiring him as my attorney was the best decision I made since legal cases can get very complicated and confusing for the average person. He obtained all he promised, never misled me, and worked so hard, which I am forever grateful for.
Ever since then, John has been there for my family and I whenever we need advice or representation, never fails to benefit our situation. As of right now, seventeen years later, I am back seeking his legal advice in hopes of terminating my case now that my kids have been emancipated.

Kevin assisted us with the resolution of a claim against a particularly difficult party who insisted on appealing multiple rulings against them. What should have been settled by reasonable business people or a single hearing about the facts of the case, the defendant and his attorney insisted on using every means possible to delay and draw out the process. Although this wasn't a huge claim, the issue was based on fraudulent billing by the defendant and we wanted to see it through the entire process on a moral basis. Kevin did a great job getting the defendant to court and making our side of the case clear. We prevailed and Kevin also assisted in collecting the judgement after the defendant began stalling after the judgement was rendered. I highly recommend Kevin for your business law concerns!

My neighbor was claiming ownership of a large piece of my property and had built a fence on it. Kevin Best review the claim with county property records and agree that I had ownership of the property. He review my property rights with me and suggest a plan of action to remove the fence and on keeping her from excising ownership of it. The plan was successful and the encroach fence was removed. Currently she is staying off the property.
Kevin was more then helpful when the Home Ownership Association question the fence removal. His knowledge of HOA convention rules were very helpful in responding to the Community Association.
I would hire Kevin again.

My experience with the Law Office of Kevin J. Best has been a very positive one and I plan on maintaining a professional relationship with this attorney.
I had been handling my particular case myself only to have it appealed (by the person suing me) twice and moved to different courts. The person has now filed their third and final appeal (allowed) with the court of appeals. I found myself in a situation where legal representation was a must. I had ten days to respond in writing to the writ of certiorari for the court of appeals. I needed an attorney-fast!
I googled attorneys and found Kevin J. Best, located in Annapolis. I was pleasantly surprised when Mr. Best personally answered the phone. I was immediately able to discuss my very complicated/time sensitive situation. I scheduled an immediate office appointment (2 hours) and fees were discussed during our phone conversation so there were no surprises. I felt Mr. Best was very reasonable. During the office visit Mr. Best very clearly explained and advised me with examples on how to respond to the writ of certiorari. Since I already had a rough draft of a response and Mr. Best was not familiar with the case to date he advised me to follow through myself to keep the cost down. I worked on my response at home-emailed it to Mr. Best the next day. Within hours he revised it and put it into legal format and emailed it back to me all prepared and ready to mail to the court.
This was above and beyond my expectations. All I had left to do was print, make copies and certify mail it to the court. I made the court deadline with days to spare and I filed the paperwork appropriately as required by this court's rules and guidelines- which I had no idea about. All with the help of my new attorney- Kevin J. Best. If needed Mr. Best will represent me at the court of appeals.

There are lawyers, then they’re heroes. Nicholas Exarhakis is more than an attorney, he’s a warrior. I discovered Nick on a google search as I desperately scrambled to find an attorney after my previous attorney dropped the ball on my case. My case was complex and far from an easy litigation or legal maneuver. Since the very first consultation I understood immediately that Nick was not the type of attorney that will give me false hope or give me unreal expectations for my case. He was REAL and HONEST. I am a man who wanted custody of my daughter from a mother who had custody since birth (6 years). Without getting into the details of the case, Nick fought relentlessly to have me granted primary custody. The battle was fierce with many motions, hearings appeals and so on, but Nick showed up prepared, armed with facts, evidence, discovery findings, effective cross examination questions and more. He went above and beyond to say the least. No doubt, his time is not cheap, but it was money well spent as I am now the primary custodian of my daughter after 6 years of being alienated from her. NO OTHER ATTORNEY WAS ABLE TO DO WHAT NICK DID. He’s in a different class. I thought I would have to wait weeks to hear back, but to my surprise Mr. Exarhakis called me within hours. Maria is in a class by herself as far as we are concerned! We contacted close to twenty lawyers who were listed or recommended to us for help in an Education law issue for my child, and Maria by far was the best. She responded to our initial request for help on the same day I sent out requests, and was willing to speak on the phone first about our situation to tell us if we had a case. Our situation involved a homeschooling issue and the local Board of Education, and Maria was one of less than 5 attorneys who would even speak to us about our case.
She responded usually within hours, and always within a day, to any communication we sent to her, and was happy to accept the research we had already done into the case in order to lower our legal costs.
She worked on our time-sensitive case with as much speed as possible to reach a resolution, and was very kind and sensitive to my daughter as well. We are very pleased with the timeliness and outcome of our case, thanks to Maria.

We were in need of an attorney to prepare our wills, power of attorney (medical and financial) and health care advance directives. I expected it to be a difficult discussion as my spouse and I are not always on the same page on certain topics but Maria made it easy. There were some tears, some laughter, but she made it happen.
She explained things in layman's terms so that everything was understandable, instructed us in what would be subject to probate and how to do things properly in order to have the least amount subject to probate. She guided and counseled us in a gentle but professional way.
This experience ended up being pleasant, easy and much less expensive than i had anticipated. I would highly recommend Maria as an attorney - highly competent and very personable.

I hired Mr. Hatley for a case that I honestly did not know if I could win. It was fairly complex dealing with a business agreement that went sour with an individual that resided out of state. Mr. Hatley quickly diagnosed the different aspects of my case and outlined what he believed to be the points leaning in our favor and potentially against us.
