This Attorney is a joke! I consulted him about an Eviction Proceedings against me and he was really condescending. Firstly, he stated that my Landlord can still evict me even if I come up with my past due rent before the court hearing which was contrary to what another Attorney in the area advised me upon as well as the law in Virginia. As long as you can cure an outstanding balance a judge will allow you to stay since the reason for the Unlawful Retainer was about unpaid rent. I hope he sees this and does better with his client. He even belittled me by stating that since I don't have money for the my Landlord I definitely do not have money to pay him-such an unprofessional fellow! The prejudice and belittling was unbelievable during my phone conversation with this guy! I know most lawyers are arrogant but this guy leads them in that category! I do not recommend him at all.

He was appointed to represent me before there was a PD office in Arlington. Called him every single day for two months while I was in jail. Never accepted my call. Never came to see me until the night before my trial. For two months prior to sentencing I called every week. Wrote several letters. Mr. Dennis never responded nor did what I asked in the letters. At sentencing I received ten times my sentencing guidelines. A 25 year active prison sentence. Were it not for my persistence, hard work, and the help of a quality post conviction attorney I would still be in prison. It took me 16 1/2 year to earn a pardon from Governor Northam. Had Mr Dennis done his job with a modicum of professionalism I would likely have been home over a decade ago. I wouldn’t even ask him to defend me in traffic court much less if years of my life were in the balance.

I have had to hire Mr. Dennis for both of my sons who got in trouble with the law. He takes the time to get the details of the case and is very professional. He was able to handle both of their cases with great results. I hope their is no need for legal representation in the future but in the event that anyone in this family does need a lawyer, Attorney Harry Dennis will be the only one for us!

MDMB and Laura Dove in particular, represented me in a complicated divorce and custody case in Arlington county Court. I found her through a good friend. Laura is a very professional, experienced lawyer, with extreme attention to details, an unbelievable memory, and excellent litigation skills. Always on top of the game! Case preparation, deposition, discovery, all-day hearings, you name it. She is well-respected by colleagues and judges (we had hearings with at least 4 of them). She truly loves what she is doing! I highly, highly recommend her. Just make sure to take notes and follow her advice! Good luck!

Laura worked closely with me on my case and helped me get everything I needed for me and my kids. She was very responsive to my concerns and questions and really looked out for me. She let me know when I could do things to keep my costs down and also assigned some stuff to other people so that I got billed at a lower rate. If you want someone who will care about you and protecting your kids you should hire her!

I'm not the type of person to leave reviews. I mean, I'f I'm disappointed with my service in any aspect of life I typically just don't frequent that establishment in food service cases or just never spend money with that company again. I don't feel negative reviews do justice to the injustice that you received....anyways....I feel the need to basically let any parent male or female know...if you're involved in ANY TYPE of custody or divorce situation you SERIOUSLY NEED TO CONSIDER THIS AMAZING WOMAN. From Day 1 Lynn represented me as if I were her own brother, like seriously....she's a Thurgood Marshall Scholar for Christ's sake! Look her up, she's more than legit. She knows her stuff inside and out and in the courtroom SHE EMBARRASSES opposing attorneys!!! I'm not kidding, she is not cheap, however I find you get what you pay for in most aspects of life and in this circumstance Lynn more than produced! She didn't nickel and dime me for our correspondence via email or phone convo. She's an honest fair woman, mother of her own children and fighter for yours! I couldn't afford Lynn but used every penny of savings I had to retain and keep her for as long as I could! Literally, the law clerk of our trial ran after us outside after our custody trial to tell her she was the most amazing attorney she HAD EVER SEEN!!!! IM NOT KIDDING....I totally agreed! She works for pretty much the longest established/most reputable firm in Virginia (PERIOD). I'm an honest non biased individual.....Lynn is pretty much capable of walking on water....not joking. She is so skillful and knowledgeable it makes you feel calm and assured as soon as you speak with her and realize she means business. If you believe in reviews as do I, please contact this woman to at least meet with and consult with at the very least. My life is better now that I've had the pleasure of working with Lynn. And years afterwards, I'll text her with occasional questions etc. As I can no longer afford her amazing services and she is always very helpful, honest and punctual. Lynn saved my life pretty much and I'm in debted to her and want any prospective client to know ....Lynn is a robot Superhero! Not from this world...

I met with Lynn Hawkins for a consultation immediately after my separation. I was in a vulnerable spot, and she was cruel to me. I was traumatized and had to revisit that consultation every time I walked by her office (which was in my neighborhood), at least for a while. I didn't want to split the assets 50/50 because I was the sole contributor to the family (no children), and because roughly half of the assets in question were earned before the marriage. When I expressed to Lynn that I didn't want to split the assets 50/50, she said, in a sarcastic tone, "well, how do you want it to be split?" I said, "in accordance to our contributions to the marriage." Lynn retorted, "well, the court doesn't care about your contributions to the marriage." Lynn is wrong. The court cares. It's the first item in the VA statute on how to split assets. In fact, my case went to trial, and the court split the marital assets 70/30 in my favor, and granted me essentially all of the assets I entered the marriage with, well, what was left of it. Ultimately, I got about 90% of the assets in question. But what traumatized me the most was when Lynn said, "don't worry about losing your retirement assets, you have another 30 years to work." The dismissive and glib tone she said that in was awful. I'm 40. How can you condemn someone to a late retirement like that, someone who is literally crying in your office? Of course, I selected a different lawyer. One that won my case and knows the statute.

Ms, Hawkins was introduced to me as part of the law team helping me with my divorce. She is a fierce defender of the rights of her clients. She is sharp and witty. She was an associate of Mr. Korman, my main attorney. He certainly doesn't choose slackers to work under him. At first I was worried when so portions of my case were handed to her, but I was soon proven so woefully wrong. She was a perfect complement to Mr. Korman and represented him, the law firm, and herself, exhibiting respect, integrity, honestly and true grit. As a woman, she could empathize with me and the struggles I was going through. As a mother, she understood my motherly fears for my child in this horrific divorce. As an attorney, she and Korman were my Roman Legions fighting for me. I would not hesitate to seek her assistance again.

Claudia was recommended to me by another attorney (friend) who was familiar with her skills and abilities as a family law attorney. Claudia was retained to modify a custody and child support order previously entered during a very contentious divorce. Claudia was very efficient and was a guardian of my rights as a father. She was always accessible and on the rare occasions that I had to leave a message, Claudia was prompt in returning my calls. Claudia was fair and transparent in the billing process and did not do things that many other lawyers would have done just to generate revenue. Claudia was with me every step of the process and always considered the future consequences of any actions taken. I have and will continue to recommend Claudia.

I was fortunate to find Claudia while looking for lawyers to help me with my complicated custody case. Called and scheduled a meeting with Claudia and from day one, she was fighting for me as though she was fighting for her own child. After an almost 2 year litigation, Claudia made sure I walked away with full custody. She stood by me through Juvenile Court and then through Circuit Court. I am a grateful father and thankful to Claudia for reuniting me with my daughter.

I could not have gone through my divorce proceedings without the stern and deliberate support of Claudia Zucker. She is tough but fair and that's what I needed because I knew what I was about to face. She is realistic and very matter of fact but I learned that it was not a soul sister that I needed but yet a pit bull who was ready to defend me at all cost and without any apologies. I recommend Claudia to anyone who is looking for someone who knows military law because it is vital when you are the service person or going up against one. I will forever be grateful for the tools I learned from my attorney. I walked into her office a timid, naive military spouse and soon to be divorcee and walked out a confident, self aware and respectable woman and mother. This attorney is a force to be reckoned with!!!

Tara was amazing with my custody case back in 2021-2022, she fought hard so I can win custody back of my daughter and did everything in her power to do so, even with my daughters mothers side thinking they were going to win again and trying their best so they can win. But not this time, I had an amazing lawyer who fought hard so I to can have my daughter with me, I wish I could still have her as a lawyer now because lord going through lack of communication, not being on top of her medical appointments and not putting our daughters education first, but I had to go through bankruptcy back then because yes fees are high and wasn’t able to pay what I owed. But at the end of the day I would rehire her if I needed and wanted to!

I hired Ms. Steinnerd for a child support case and her passive aggressive behavior towards me before, during, and after trial were appalling. It was obvious during court she not only didn't go through all my documents but she didn't even notify me that I would be taking the stand until 10 minutes before I entered the court room. Ironically, she did call me that morning to ask me a question and even then, did not inform me I would be taking the stand that afternoon. What attorney doesn't prepare their client for trial?? In addition, she was incredibly nasty towards me during the trial and treating me like an adolescent when in fact her behavior needed to be checked. While waiting in the lobby for the judge to make the final decision she had the audacity to blame me for the trial's outcome, told me I was argumentative, was unprepared for trial, and did not go through all my documents. The way she treated me was appalling, from this experience I was able to keep a cool head despite her snatching my own cell phone out of my hands when I tried to calmy explain something to her and all the while blaming me for her faults. Her exact words, "You expected me to run the numbers for you didn't you"? Yes, ma'am that would have made a lot of sense instead of looking foolish in the court that day. If you added up the numbers from my ex-husband you could have done the same for me, and that's how I found out you didn't open the attachments provided. Not only did I not want to go to trial, but I consistently told her I did not want the support lowered. My child support was lowered because of documents I clearly told her I could provide her the year prior, and she didn't want, she didn't go through all of my paperwork, and literally growled at me during trial when she found out information about me that she should have known as I provided her all-necessary documentation way before the trial began. Ironically my neighbor also has her as an attorney and indicated she can be incredibly aggressive when things don't go her way. Remember you are the client and you're paying for her services; no one should be made to feel disrespected or blamed for the outcome of a trial they were unprepared for. You pay your attorney to do their job and in no way, shape or form should you be belittled in front of others for THEIR lack of commitment to the job. Respect should go both ways. I would not hire this attorney or recommend her to anyone as she can be incredibly nasty and disregard what you want as a client. I highly suggest you read the reviews prior to hiring her to represent you.

She helped me to get a name change for my child who is a minor.i shopped around for a lawyer for about 3 months and all other lawyers were wanting to charge me $1,300-$1,800 and made it sound like my case was very difficult and would most likely not turn out the way I wanted. I spoke with Ms. Jackson over the phone and met with her in her office and she asked about the circumstances. She let me know we had a great chance at winning this case and went as far as to explain why. She charged me a reasonable flat fee and we had a court date set for the next month. She arrived on time and was very organized and knowledgable. I got my child's name changed as I wanted and am extremely happy with her services.

I WANTED A CALM, CIVIL MEETING AND THE FIRST IMPRESSION OF THIS GUY WAS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. THERE IS NO FREE CONSULTATION, AFTER HE BOMBARDS ME WITH QUESTIONS AND CANNOT ANSWER MINE, HE JUST SAYS "HOW ABOUT $100?" THEN WHEN I QUOTED FREE CONSULTATION AND APPOINTMENT, HE HURRIEDLY TALKS OVER ME, MAKES UP SOME EXCUSE AND SAYS "THANK YOU VERY MUCH" AND HANGS UP WITHOUT ALLOWING ME TO SAY ANYTHING. Do NOT give this man your money - his license has been REVOKED. Unfortunately, I didn’t see all the negative reviews until it was too late. Not only did he walk away with the retainer, but he also cost me $1000’s in hotel/flight costs for court dates that he didn’t even show up for. He even promised to reimburse me for my travel for one of the trips since he messed up the paperwork, telling me to get dinner, breakfast, coffee, etc. and it would be compensated…right before he ghosted me.

He never did anything he was hired to do. He over promised and under delivered. Based on the reviews already as a NEW lawyer he will not make it in this career at this pace and this is a very common practice of his. He should not have a license. I HIGHLY do NOT recommend him. I will be filing a complaint to get my money back. Everyone who has ever used him should do the same.

No "This is the law office of Sean O'Connell" or anything to identify who I'm speaking to When trying to go over the details of my potential case, he kept cutting me off mid-sentence and not allowing me to finish. When I tried answering a question he said "How about you listen to what I'm actually saying." I was trying to answer his question but he cut me off. I just hung up. I take no pleasure in writing these sorts of reviews, but in my case, this was a scam. The attorney repeatedly did not do what he said he would while charging $400 an hour. I would say his performance was worth maybe $80 an hour at best. His motions were replete with typos, and he had little understanding of technology, not just forensic technology but even Microsoft Office. He repeatedly lost track of versions of documents. The final straw came when the motion I hired him to litigate took 6 months, $20,000, and yet his exhibits were out of order. Avoid this representation at all costs.

Elizabeth Wildhack updated my estate documents in 2012. When I needed them updated again in 2021, I called her office. I was told by the receptionist that I just needed to email Elizabeth and she would make the changes, basically fill-in-the-blanks. I asked for a phone call from Elizabeth to discuss issues and ask questions. The receptionist again told me that could all be done via email. I insisted on a phone call. Elizabeth called me a day later. Was very professional and polite. I emailed her with changes. After about 10 days, I didn't hear back from her so I called and left a message. She emailed back (no phone call) and said she had accidentally deleted my email. She answered my questions. I emailed later with the specific changes. I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM HER. It has been four weeks. I left messages on her voicemail, left messages with the receptionist, and emailed, all multiple times. She never responded. I have moved on to another law firm. Attorneys are a dime a dozen. Find one that is responsive, professional, thorough, helpful. Elizabeth Wildhack is NONE of these things.

Come to find out my appeal had multiple typos in it, which I asked to be corrected and weren't. During the case a CD was not received by the judge which was reviewed and received poorly upon arguments on my behalf. This attorney did not state when she left the firm and the state of how my case was left. Unfortunately, I had asked for a new attorney from 2010-2014 and the firm never offered me another attorney. Certain things had to be cleared up with the firm in regards to billing of certain things during depositions. One such typo and lack of assurance in the delivery of the case recently resulted in the reason for why it was lost. The attorney didn't ensure the Commission received the report.

We were very disappointed with Suzanne Harness during our arbitration. During the arbitration hearing she openly questioned "why we were there" and "what we wanted", and ignored specific testimony and evidence in making her decision. We highly encourage any home owners to avoid Ms. Harness if they need an arbitrator.

He is currently also operating as an Assistant Vice President for a nationwide company. My peers and I find him to be brash and dismissive. Not a good look for a major corporation or potential clients seeking competent representation.

Barbara preyed ruthlessly upon my family and me in our time of need. Despite claims to the contrary, she understood nothing of the process, had no legal strategy, and suckered my family for over $10 thousand. The last couple of months I dealt with her, she was on vacation in the Caribbean, a luxury she took literally at my expense. Any reputable attorney would simply have passed along my case to someone remotely qualified. She's the kind of attorney that gives the rest a bad name.

Due to Jim not keeping up with our case I was forced to pay thousands of dollars. We were referred to Jim by family who is now ashamed to have known him. Even his firm verified with us he royally messed our case up and we could have had a very different out come. If you choose to use Jim, whom is a very kind man, please make sure you keep up with him. You will need to contact him constantly to remind him of things and keep him going. You can't assume he'll take care of something he said he'll look into. I completely recommend Ravid and associates just not Jim Brady!

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
