This Attorney is a joke! I consulted him about an Eviction Proceedings against me and he was really condescending. Firstly, he stated that my Landlord can still evict me even if I come up with my past due rent before the court hearing which was contrary to what another Attorney in the area advised me upon as well as the law in Virginia. As long as you can cure an outstanding balance a judge will allow you to stay since the reason for the Unlawful Retainer was about unpaid rent. I hope he sees this and does better with his client. He even belittled me by stating that since I don't have money for the my Landlord I definitely do not have money to pay him-such an unprofessional fellow! The prejudice and belittling was unbelievable during my phone conversation with this guy! I know most lawyers are arrogant but this guy leads them in that category! I do not recommend him at all.

I am beside myself for not switching attorneys. But when you’re in the middle of that horrible situation, you think your attorney will steer you through it. My settlement was terrible, no where near where it should’ve been, and there was never a clear strategy or plan of attack. I feel my defensewas basically “phoned in”. And honestly, looking back, I had a clear “winning” case, but that shouldn’t be for the client to push for, especially when the client is in the middle of the worst stage of their lives. That’s the point of hiring a qualified professional attorney. Very upset with what my life and my future now looks like. Someone’s life and future financial stability is too important to not do a thorough job. I’m devastated that I now have to pick up the pieces of my life and figure out how to move forward.

This lawyer did not act correctly in my divorce case, he made me leave the office when he was talking to my husband's lawyer, I did not benefit, on the contrary I lost what was due to me, such as the division of my house, I do not recommend him , he did not defend me as he should have.

MDMB and Laura Dove in particular, represented me in a complicated divorce and custody case in Arlington county Court. I found her through a good friend.
Laura is a very professional, experienced lawyer, with extreme attention to details, an unbelievable memory, and excellent litigation skills. Always on top of the game! Laura worked closely with me on my case and helped me get everything I needed for me and my kids. She was very responsive to my concerns and questions and really looked out for me. She let me know when I could do things to keep my costs down and also assigned some stuff to other people so that I got billed at a lower rate. If you want someone who will care about you and protecting your kids you should hire her!

If you want your ex and ex's lawyer to win, then absolutely go for Laura. Their office never returned my calls/emails and let certain things lapse. I had to drop them and get a new lawyer. Their office will only call you back once the money in your account runs out.

I'm not the type of person to leave reviews. I mean, I'f I'm disappointed with my service in any aspect of life I typically just don't frequent that establishment in food service cases or just never spend money with that company again. I don't feel negative reviews do justice to the injustice that you received....anyways....I feel the need to basically let any parent male or female know...if you're involved in ANY TYPE of custody or divorce situation you SERIOUSLY NEED TO CONSIDER THIS AMAZING WOMAN. From Day 1 Lynn represented me as if I were her own brother, like seriously....she's a Thurgood Marshall Scholar for Christ's sake! Look her up, she's more than legit. She knows her stuff inside and out and in the courtroom SHE EMBARRASSES opposing attorneys!!! I'm not kidding, she is not cheap, however I find you get what you pay for in most aspects of life and in this circumstance Lynn more than produced! She didn't nickel and dime me for our correspondence via email or phone convo. She's an honest fair woman, mother of her own children and fighter for yours! I couldn't afford Lynn but used every penny of savings I had to retain and keep her for as long as I could! Literally, the law clerk of our trial ran after us outside after our custody trial to tell her she was the most amazing attorney she HAD EVER SEEN!!!! IM NOT KIDDING....I totally agreed! She works for pretty much the longest established/most reputable firm in Virginia (PERIOD). I'm an honest non biased individual.....Lynn is pretty much capable of walking on water....not joking. She is so skillful and knowledgeable it makes you feel calm and assured as soon as you speak with her and realize she means business. If you believe in reviews as do I, please contact this woman to at least meet with and consult with at the very least. My life is better now that I've had the pleasure of working with Lynn. And years afterwards, I'll text her with occasional questions etc. As I can no longer afford her amazing services and she is always very helpful, honest and punctual. I met with Lynn Hawkins for a consultation immediately after my separation. I was in a vulnerable spot, and she was cruel to me. I was traumatized and had to revisit that consultation every time I walked by her office (which was in my neighborhood), at least for a while.
I didn't want to split the assets 50/50 because I was the sole contributor to the family (no children), and because roughly half of the assets in question were earned before the marriage. When I expressed to Lynn that I didn't want to split the assets 50/50, she said, in a sarcastic tone, "well, how do you want it to be split?" I said, "in accordance to our contributions to the marriage." Lynn retorted, "well, the court doesn't care about your contributions to the marriage."
Lynn is wrong. The court cares. It's the first item in the VA statute on how to split assets. In fact, my case went to trial, and the court split the marital assets 70/30 in my favor, and granted me essentially all of the assets I entered the marriage with, well, what was left of it. Ultimately, I got about 90% of the assets in question.
But what traumatized me the most was when Lynn said, "don't worry about losing your retirement assets, you have another 30 years to work." The dismissive and glib tone she said that in was awful. I'm 40. How can you condemn someone to a late retirement like that, someone who is literally crying in your office?
Of course, I selected a different lawyer. One that won my case and knows the statute.

Ms, Hawkins was introduced to me as part of the law team helping me with my divorce. She is a fierce defender of the rights of her clients. She is sharp and witty. She was an associate of Mr. Korman, my main attorney. He certainly doesn't choose slackers to work under him. At first I was worried when so portions of my case were handed to her, but I was soon proven so woefully wrong. She was a perfect complement to Mr. Korman and represented him, the law firm, and herself, exhibiting respect, integrity, honestly and true grit. As a woman, she could empathize with me and the struggles I was going through. As a mother, she understood my motherly fears for my child in this horrific divorce. As an attorney, she and Korman were my Roman Legions fighting for me. I would not hesitate to seek her assistance again.

He was appointed to represent me before there was a PD office in Arlington. Called him every single day for two months while I was in jail. Never accepted my call. Never came to see me until the night before my trial. For two months prior to sentencing I called every week. Wrote several letters. Mr. Dennis never responded nor did what I asked in the letters. At sentencing I received ten times my sentencing guidelines. A 25 year active prison sentence. Were it not for my persistence, hard work, and the help of a quality post conviction attorney I would still be in prison. It took me 16 1/2 year to earn a pardon from Governor Northam. Had Mr Dennis done his job with a modicum of professionalism I would likely have been home over a decade ago. I wouldn’t even ask him to defend me in traffic court much less if years of my life were in the balance.

Claudia was recommended to me by another attorney (friend) who was familiar with her skills and abilities as a family law attorney. Claudia was retained to modify a custody and child support order previously entered during a very contentious divorce. Claudia was very efficient and was a guardian of my rights as a father. She was always accessible and on the rare occasions that I had to leave a message, Claudia was prompt in returning my calls.
Claudia was fair and transparent in the billing process and did not do things that many other lawyers would have done just to generate revenue.

I could not have gone through my divorce proceedings without the stern and deliberate support of Claudia Zucker. She is tough but fair and that's what I needed because I knew what I was about to face. Tara was amazing with my custody case back in 2021-2022, she fought hard so I can win custody back of my daughter and did everything in her power to do so, even with my daughters mothers side thinking they were going to win again and trying their best so they can win. But not this time, I had an amazing lawyer who fought hard so I to can have my daughter with me, I wish I could still have her as a lawyer now because lord going through lack of communication, not being on top of her medical appointments and not putting our daughters education first, but I had to go through bankruptcy back then because yes fees are high and wasn’t able to pay what I owed. But at the end of the day I would rehire her if I needed and wanted to!

I hired Ms. Steinnerd for a child support case and her passive aggressive behavior towards me before, during, and after trial were appalling. It was obvious during court she not only didn't go through all my documents but she didn't even notify me that I would be taking the stand until 10 minutes before I entered the court room. Ironically, she did call me that morning to ask me a question and even then, did not inform me I would be taking the stand that afternoon. What attorney doesn't prepare their client for trial?? In addition, she was incredibly nasty towards me during the trial and treating me like an adolescent when in fact her behavior needed to be checked. While waiting in the lobby for the judge to make the final decision she had the audacity to blame me for the trial's outcome, told me I was argumentative, was unprepared for trial, and did not go through all my documents. The way she treated me was appalling, from this experience I was able to keep a cool head despite her snatching my own cell phone out of my hands when I tried to calmy explain something to her and all the while blaming me for her faults. Her exact words, "You expected me to run the numbers for you didn't you"? Yes, ma'am that would have made a lot of sense instead of looking foolish in the court that day. If you added up the numbers from my ex-husband you could have done the same for me, and that's how I found out you didn't open the attachments provided. Not only did I not want to go to trial, but I consistently told her I did not want the support lowered. My child support was lowered because of documents I clearly told her I could provide her the year prior, and she didn't want, she didn't go through all of my paperwork, and literally growled at me during trial when she found out information about me that she should have known as I provided her all-necessary documentation way before the trial began. Ironically my neighbor also has her as an attorney and indicated she can be incredibly aggressive when things don't go her way. Remember you are the client and you're paying for her services; no one should be made to feel disrespected or blamed for the outcome of a trial they were unprepared for. You pay your attorney to do their job and in no way, shape or form should you be belittled in front of others for THEIR lack of commitment to the job. Respect should go both ways. I would not hire this attorney or recommend her to anyone as she can be incredibly nasty and disregard what you want as a client. I highly suggest you read the reviews prior to hiring her to represent you.

She helped me to get a name change for my child who is a minor.i shopped around for a lawyer for about 3 months and all other lawyers were wanting to charge me $1,300-$1,800 and made it sound like my case was very difficult and would most likely not turn out the way I wanted. I spoke with Ms. Jackson over the phone and met with her in her office and she asked about the circumstances. She let me know we had a great chance at winning this case and went as far as to explain why. She charged me a reasonable flat fee and we had a court date set for the next month. She arrived on time and was very organized and knowledgable. I got my child's name changed as I wanted and am extremely happy with her services.

Aaren did not meet my expectations as a supporting lawyer. She did not pay attention to my needs. It was as if she was working for the other side. I ended in debt and am almost bankrupt because I did not get a fair settlement because of her. I would not recommend her for any one seeking a divorce. She and her partner double charged me.

THE VERY FIRST CALL TO THIS GUY, JUST FOR AN APPOINTMENT FOR AN INITIAL CONSULTATION, WAS SO RUSHED, HE BOMBARDED ME WITH QUESTIONS BUT COULDN'T ANSWER ANY OF MY QUESTIONS TO HIM SAYING "WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE LEASE".
I WANTED A CALM, CIVIL MEETING AND THE FIRST IMPRESSION OF THIS GUY WAS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE.
THERE IS NO FREE CONSULTATION, AFTER HE BOMBARDS ME WITH QUESTIONS AND CANNOT ANSWER MINE, HE JUST SAYS "HOW ABOUT $100?"

Had a complaint on an attorney here that messed up a trust and the receptionist told me I needed to speak with the firm's administrator, Lori Holland. I called and left Lori six voice different voice mail messages within a span of two weeks and she refused to return my calls. Terrible customer service for an administrator to refuse to speak with one of their firm's clients that has a complaint.....that is her job.
