I recently worked with Sam Colletti as our mediator in a somewhat contentious divorce that was beginning to spiral out of control.
If I was to summarize, I'd say Sam reintroduced sanity into the process.
Neither my spouse nor I ever wanted to go to court, but as the divorce process proceeded it seemed more and more likely that it was going that way as tensions flared. Our lawyers jointly chose Sam as a mediator and I can whole heartedly say he saved the day. Not just money, but ultimately our ability to leave with our dignity intact and a willingness to reengage with each other as the sane humans we used to be.
Sam absorbed the desires of both sides with a empathetic ability to make both people feel heard. But, perhaps above that, he reminded both sides equally that there was more at stake than just money and perhaps the pride of feeling like your side 'won'.
That skillset, along with his exceptional understanding of the law, brought authenticity when he reminded us that there were major downsides to even winning in court. He brought a level headedness to both room equally and fairly. Not to say we didn't both make inconsiderate demands perhaps more out of ego, than common sense, but Sam was there as the voice of reason with his calm, consistent and considerate manner. Sam truly saved the day, tens of thousands of dollars and most importantly helped us both leave with a concluded mediation along with our pride.
To put it bluntly, he was the adult in the room and I thank for him for that.

I felt that Lisa always was there for me and she was calm and in control which helped me a lot. She was also very experienced working with lawyers on the other side and different mediators too and that gave me confidence also. There was plenty of drama and twists and turns and Lisa kept us in control and moving forward. She also understood my priorities (kids) and focus and never lost sight of that. Lisa had strong co-workers too which made me feel like we were a team. In the end she was able to make sure the settlement was relatively fair and reasonable and she was able to get it done as efficiently as could be hoped for. After an accident with an 18 wheeler, we were totally lost on navigating the personal injury and medical side of things. We started receiving calls from the at-fault party’s insurance company trying to settle right away and knew we needed experienced help. I was a little hesitant to work with an attorney at first but we got connected with Chip Evans through a work referral program and he put me at ease right away. Chip is very down to earth, knowledgeable, never seemed in a rush and made us comfortable throughout the entire process. We felt confident at every turn that we were in good hands. He was very patient with my long lists of questions and helped us tackle the pile of medical bills. Chip's case manager Nancy was a pleasure to work with as well and went to bat for us on more than one occasion--including a last minute (and super stressful!) situation that came up less than 48 hours before back surgery.
