We have used FHM for the last 7 or 8 years for both our business and personal family trust. We have used multiple attorneys who have all been professional and kind in their dealings with us. I would highly recommend FHM in all aspects of law, both personal and business.

The problem with the legal system is no one can afford representation for issues. It is hard to litigate a $450 fee someone is trying to impose upon you when attorneys cost $400/hr just for a consultation. This doesn't help your community.
Edit after update from owner: This is all fine and in good spirit, but before I could even get a question off to see if this would be worth my time and expense, I was cut off and told I would have to set up a $400/hr consult first. For those of us in between jobs with families, this does not qualify as affordable. The state was more helpful. The state.

Christine is a very effective special education lawyer.
Our IEP journey was frustrating, to say the least. Our son’s education was floundering, and we were dealing with a school district that seemed unable to understand what he needed for support.
Our first lawyer finally got the school district to agree to an IEP for our son. This IEP, however, contained no meaningful support for him. Our second lawyer persuaded us to compromise to a revised IEP that had some structure but lacked substance. We will spare you the details, but the school district appeared willing to let our son’s education free fall.
Then, we found Christine. She told us what we needed to do and how we could convince the school district to provide much needed help for our son’s education. The IEP finally spelled out the support structure our son needed. He just graduated from a high school.
The only reason our son has a high school diploma is because of his IEP, which we would not have gotten without Christine.

During our family's time of need Christine provided compassionate, honest, and dedicated advocacy for us. We had never before been involved in a legal dispute and we had no idea of how to go about having our case be heard. Christine was very communicative about the process and readily answered our questions about what was going to take place. I was referred to Christine by our family law attorney. I worked with her and her team for over a year and she was fantastic from beginning to end. She's very easy to talk to and explains things in ways that I understand. She returns messages promptly and responds thoroughly to my inquiries. She's very upbeat, honest and has been a pleasure to work with.
We unfortunately found ourselves having to go in front of a judge due to having received an objection to our filing. She and her team did a phenomenal job of making sure that I was prepared and feeling comfortable and confident; which wasn't difficult as I have great faith in these folks after having worked with them for months. We came out the other side with everything that we'd asked for. I recently contacted Sonia Ickes to represent my daughter, who has been fighting Glioblastoma Multiforma, Stage 4 brain cancer since 2016. My daughter also had a stroke (caused by the past radiation treatments of her brain cancer) in December 2018 which caused her to become legally blind. My daughter needed to be on disability through the Social Security Administration so that she could also obtain Medicare for her treatments. Sonia had represented clients in the past on Social Security disability and did such an amazing job that I wanted to hire her to represent my daughter. I was wise in my choice of Sonia Ickes. Sonia agreed to take the case. She was very thorough, kind, and competent. She was always available to take questions (we had many), and she got the claim into the Social Security Administration quickly. My daughter received her Social Security Disability in just a few weeks. We could not have done this without Sonia. Sonia is a really intelligent, caring, and highly competent attorney. I can't say enough good about Sonia and her professionalism.

Ms. Ickes did a terrible job during the time I hired her to represent me. She chose her own course; never kept me informed; did not prepare me for hearing; instead of doing her job in the courtroom, she chit chatted with the opposing attorney. When the hearing had a negative outcome, she did not counsel or advise me of next steps. Shoddy paperwork. Be forewarned.

She couldn’t take the time to explain the process or answer my questions at any time during the almost two year process. The only time she actually talked with me was to sign the engagement. I wasn’t worth spending the time of day on for anything, so she constantly kicked me down to the paralegal on the case. After multiple issues, he once the filings were complete and distribution checks ready to cut, they sent them all out on incorrect check stock and I had to notify them for correction. Which they never explained the process or the fees, the kept extra at the end to cover everything and then still send me bills. This is the worst professional service I’ve engaged. I won’t be back for any legal advice or services from this firm.

I would recommend using Kevin Carolan highly. I hired Kevin Carolan in February 2016. Kevin worked very hard for me and in the end reached a settlement that I was pleased with. My case was a difficult case and I was so impressed during depositions and with all the work he put in to getting my case resolved. I am very happy that Kevin Carolan agreed to take my case.

I felt that Mr. Kevin Carolan was a very good attorney. He was very professional and was always so calm.
I know Mr. Carolan was always available when it was urgent to speak with him and he would return my phone calls for any questions I had. I felt he was very patient with me as I had to make payments to him over a period of several years and very patient with me when I was a basket case because I was very traumatized at the time. Mr. Carolan would explain things to me as many times as he needed for me to understand what ever something meant etc.
I have had attorneys and a judge that I reported to the state bar because they just dragged my case out and made personal comments about me to other attorneys. I believe Mr. Carolan did his best with what he had to go up against in my case. I also feel that beside his professional job he does as a attorney he is a kind and caring person.

Sean was recently appointed to me by crook county. He not only resolved my case in a timely manner he kept contact with me 24/7. Every time I called he either answered or called me back in short time. Very impressed with his communication skills as well as his kindness on answering all my legal questions as a friend, not as a paid attorney trying to squeeze a dollar out of me. He not only got me the best deal possible but they wanted minimum 14 days in jail and he got me 2!!! If you want a friend or a understanding lawyer that simplifies the language of lawyer get a hold of Sean. Any future legal problems that I run into this is my lawyer.

If I could give 0 stars then I would! $20,000 later and they withdraw from representing me because I questioned their actions and choices. Ex spouse was ordered to give me my stuff by or before 3/11/22 and it’s now 5/4/22 and I still don’t have my belongings. The whole process felt like, delay, delay, charge, charge, charge! The very first motion they filed was tossed due to a typo. They will pick and choose when to respond to your calls, texts or emails but the billing department never misses a beat. Zach Santos will make you believe he’s got your back and tell you that you can reach out to him whenever to vent or ask questions however he’ll then say that you’re unprofessional if you question anything. Eryn Sisson his legal aid is even worse! She will yell at you and degrade you on the phone and then not listen to a word you’re trying to say. If you’re in the fight of your life then I highly recommend you look elsewhere! Worst experience ever!

Beware utilizing Merrill O’Sullivan LLP for Estates and Trusts, they have no commitment to their clients after taking your money.
In September 2016, my mother utilized Merrill O’Sullivan to establish and set up a Trust, an Advance Directive, Power of Attorney, and Last Will and Testament. She spent thousands of dollars with the firm in consultation and fees for the filings and paperwork.
Unfortunately my mother passed away in October 2023. As the Trustee of the Trust, I contacted Merrill O’Sullivan for consultation of the Trust and Will. After a week of the initial contact, they called me back. Instead of setting up a paid meeting, they told me they did not have anyone at the firm that could work with me, and provided the Oregon Bar Association phone number so I could find another law firm to work with.
I was shocked and hurt by this decision. My mother had just passed away a week earlier, and I thought I could receive proper guidance of next steps by the firm my mother had trusted. I expressed my disappointment but it did not matter.
I’m not sure how this is considered ethical or thoughtful. Frankly I was embarrassed for the person that called me back. It was clear this was not the right decision. I would not consider these actions professional, ethical, or considerate. Their actions indicate they have no followup commitment, once they receive their primary fees.
Again, be aware prior to utilizing Merrill O’Sullivan for any Estate or Trust work.

Hired Mr. Wilson to represent me in a misdemeanor case. He had 18 months to prepare for trial. He was unprepared and lost the case to a new assistant district attorney. The kicker is he had the truth on his side. I did not commit any crime. He lost the case because he was completely unprepared and only interested in his fees and not justice. Mr. Wilson has been practicing law for over 20 years but only has two old reviews on this site and very few reviews on other sites. That should be a warning to anyone considering hiring him. Mr. Wilson has Defended in two cases a criminal case that he got completely dropped. As well as my DUI I was not able to get a diversion because I was involved in a accident but he got me best possible out come no jail time and very little community service.
He is very intelligent and I highly recommend him.
I hired him as my Lawyer but I now consider him my friend.

Jeff did his best to prolong a litigation that involved relatives stealing my mother’s house after she died. Not only did he harm me financially, in doing so he cost his client ( the defendant) an exorbitant amount as well. When he was called out on his conduct he doubled down. Hopefully the Oregon bar will sanction him. If you use this awful attorney it is at your peril.

Florida Commercial Real Estate Investor here, daughter lives in Bend. We put a piece of residential land under contract to purchase but Seller did not fulfill his obligations to PARTITION as stated in the contract. Do I sue for Specific Performance? Do I have a case? Angela represented my ex-husband. First, she had my ex lie on the stand, knowing I have cancer she tried to tell the judge I was lying and tried to discredit my doctor. She falsely made claims about my home and had a realtor lie under oath for her. After the judgment she falsified what the judge said (judge said ex owed me money and they said after they listened to the recording , it was their opinion that the judge made a mistake and granted my ex a money judgment and recorded my divorce.)I had within 12 days to reply in writing which I did. They continued to lie to me and literally changed what the judge said. Anyone who has had these kind of interactions with Angela Lee should immediately CONTACT THE STATE BOARD!. These people have no conscious or morality. Truly sick.

I thought I hired a lawyer who would be on my side during a difficult time, but I was wrong. He charged me for tasks I did not ask him to do. Then when I made a request, he refused to do it. The final straw was Mr. O'Neill sent me an email that was condescending, inappropriate, unprofessional, and unappreciated. Without going into detail here, just know I let him go before my dissolution was final. That's how uncomfortable I felt!

Greg has been in the business too long, he is not willing to listen to his clients, he has seen it all before and that's the way he calls it.
Only female clients may get a fair shake. I got full custody of both my children and my ex got over 200% of everything that we owned. I had begged him to request documents to prove she was hiding hundreds of thousands of dollars, he said I was wasting my time. Then by accident she disclosed funds she was hiding and he still did nothing about it. The other lawyers invalued advised me many times to dump him.. I should have.
