I retained Ms. Jones as my attorney in 2009, and she has been nothing but consistently excellent in every aspect of our relationship ever since. When I came to her, I needed help fighting a long term disability case against my employer who happens to be a rather well known and powerful corporation. Ms. Jones made me feel comfortable and safe from our very first meeting. After having been put through the wringer considerably for some time dealing with the issue on my own, I was mentally exhausted, emotionally defeated, and entirely convinced that I couldn't trust anyone. I was also convinced that no one would want to fight for me because of the bigness of who I was up against. Ms. Jones immediately set me at ease. She both listened and heard my entire story. She asked very specific and detailed questions to make certain she knew all the facts; she took time with me in order to get it right without rushing me through or implying I should speed things up. She ALWAYS returned my emails and calls without making me feel like a bother. She never failed to answer every question and address every concern. Most importantly to me as a client, she NEVER spoke defeat. If she ever had any doubts, she didn't put them on me which I appreciated very much since I had enough to worry about already. She was honest and realistic, she didn't mince words, however, she was always hopeful, always optimistic, and always of the mind that we were going to come at the issue from every legal angle available to us. In short, we weren't going down without a fight. For someone who had the fighting spirit beaten out of her, to have found a lawyer who had enough of it for the both of us was a blessing! By the way, we won. Although resolved, my case was somewhat ongoing due to reviews and re-evaluations. Ms. Jones never abandoned me. She remained on my team, she remained available to me to answer questions or give me a little guidance along the way. It made a world of difference! She is once again actively at work for me (2015) because my case took an ugly and unexpected turn. I immediately contacted her about the latest turn of events and, without hesitation or reservation, she was back in the fray with me and ready to fight once again on my behalf. I've dealt with other lawyers and have known many who have travelled this same disability road, and I've seen things play out much differently than my experience and not for the better. It truly does matter who represents you. The situation can look impossible but, if you have someone who not only cares but knows their job and the playing field well, believe me, you have more than a fighting chance no matter what anyone says! No lawyer is a magician, no outcome is guaranteed, but I know without a doubt having experienced it first hand and with that experience being over 6 years with Ms. Jones, the journey can be made less treacherous and frightening if you have the right travelling companion. Trust me, she will travel with you from start to finish, and you will never regret having chosen her, you will never feel you're going it alone, you will never have the sense of being lost or turned around, and, at journey's end, you will not in any way, shape, or form feel you weren't represented even one scintilla less than 110% of her very best. Can such a glowing review be true? I wouldn't have referred one of my very dear and extremely precious friends to her if there were any doubt in my heart Ms. Jones wouldn't handle her case with all the fierceness and determination with which she has and is once again handling mine. I brought Jami a disability case ... My disability insurance carrier suddenly decided I was OK and could go back to work and simply stopped paying after 7 years! In Michigan TWO appeals within the insurance company itself are required before you can dispute the company's actions in court. I thought about trying to handle the appeal(s) myself (I'm a former media pro with heavy writing experience and pretty much an expert researcher). In the end, I brought the issue to another attorney who had helped my wife get her SSD benefits, who in turn referred me to Jami. After meeting her and discussing my case, I decided that the issue was far too complex to risk trying to fix without professional help. One of the best decisions I ever made! Jami handled the appeal and it never even got to the second "internal" insurance company review. My benefits were FULLY reinstated as a direct result of Jami's involvement. And she's been with me ever since assisting with other problems with the two insurance companies I currently have to deal with. I would HIGHLY recommend Jami if you have ANY problems in her particular fields of expertise!

My wife and I unfortunately had an automobile accident in 2021, and Matt Brown and his team were referred to us by a family friend. They treated us well, took us seriously, and were extremely professional, and timely with how they handled our case with us. It was a three year process, and they stayed patient and kept with us the whole time. When it came to other parties or needing someone else to do something for us, they were aggressive in getting it done and made sure it was done properly for us. They took great care of us and our family, and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a lawyer to represent them.

TLDR: Great Lakes employs attorneys that are not only terrible at their job, but who will overbill you and treat you terribly.
You are doing yourself a tremendous disservice taking your business to Great Lakes. Kim Browning in particular is the single worst attorney I have ever had to deal with. She is both not very good at the legal aspect of her job, nor the customer service aspect.
She ended up billing me 3x higher than her initial estimate despite the fact that the case proceeded exactly as anticipated without any sort of hiccups.
What's more, despite the case progressing exactly as anticipated, she never gave me a clear understanding about what the next steps would be.
Worst, she WILL NOT RESPOND TO YOU. Despite paying her over $10k, she could not bother to respond to simple "yes" "no" emails without me having to send them to her 3+ times.
Please take your business elsewhere. With Great Lakes and Kim, all you'll get is a massive bill and disappointment.

Kimberly Browning and Stephanie Taylor helped me through the hardest thing I had to go through in life. I lost my dad and didn't know what to do next. Kimberly over heard me talking to people at court trying to figure out what to do next and offered to help. They have been amazing the whole year they helped me with my dad's estate. If you want the highest probability of winning your case, Mindy is the lawyer to hire!!!!
Today marks the day where I am able to exercise my God given rights as a father to parent my own sons with sole legal and physical custody! This would have not been possible without Mindy using her vast knowledge and wisdom of family law.
If you asked anyone, this was a very difficult case that I've been fighting for over 5 years!!!! Mindy came on the case at year 4, and within 3 months of being on the case, she was able to help me find the solution that I needed to win the case! If it had not been for circumstances outside of our control, the case would have been closed within those 3 months of her coming on.
Mindy has such a heart and desire for complete justice and will not rest until every wrong is made right! Lorne is a great attorney. He is tough when necessary, but also reasonable and fair. He won't drag out a case just to make more money. He discusses options and costs every step of the way, and he allows you to make sound decisions based on his advice. He is very knowledgeable of the law, and is smart with settlement numbers.
Not only is Lorne a great attorney, he also is a great counselor. He is insightful and can recognize the games played by the other side. He helps you keep your patience, and focused on your goals.

We hired this law firm to assist with guardianship and conservatorship. The law firm was wonderful...to start with. This law firm does not help with the entire process. We were asked to withdraw counsel before the first and final hearing for conservatorship. We were told that the law firm does not help through the whole process because conservatorships can last 7-8 years, despite ours lasting less than a year. They left us to complete the legal paperwork on our own. Also, they suggested to create a trust to avoid probate. This was frowned upon by the court because they did not ask the court's blessing before it was done. The law firm told us the trust was not funded, which was not accurate because it was funded with the house, which by the way, had a lady bird and the trust messed this up. We also tried calling Rutkowski about help with probate, despite being a client, three weeks later we had not received a call back. This law firm was originally referred to us. We would not recommend this law firm, unless you want to pay alot of money for bad advice.

I sent one of our clients to him randomly and he was honest with the guy. He recommended an option for him that he could use to take care of the small issue himself and not have to pay anyone. These days, this is huge to me when it seems like everyone is out for themselves. I would recommend David's services and will be sending him more of our clients in the future.

Getting a divorce is tough enough but trying to find a divorce attorney that you are comfortable with is even tougher. Sometimes,in my case,you just have to narrow a few down and then go with your gut feeling. Delia was really great and understanding with my situation. My now ex-wife and I were able to basically have an amicable divorce and Delia guided me/us (I did keep my wife abreast of my convo's with Delia) through the divorce to make it as easy as possible for us to go through something as emotional as a divorce. She was even able to prepare some extra paperwork besides the divorce for me also which was appreciated. She explained the divorce process and what to expect every step of the way. This is one time my gut didn't lead me wrong and I'm really happy that I was able to work with her. She is definitely a cool chick and I would absolutely recommend her If you do find yourself in a position where you may be contemplating a divorce and have questions or actually going through the process. TLDR: Great Lakes employs attorneys that are not only terrible at their job, but who will overbill you and treat you terribly.
You are doing yourself a tremendous disservice taking your business to Great Lakes. Kim Browning in particular is the single worst attorney I have ever had to deal with. She is both not very good at the legal aspect of her job, nor the customer service aspect.
She ended up billing me 3x higher than her initial estimate despite the fact that the case proceeded exactly as anticipated without any sort of hiccups.
What's more, despite the case progressing exactly as anticipated, she never gave me a clear understanding about what the next steps would be.
Worst, she WILL NOT RESPOND TO YOU. Despite paying her over $10k, she could not bother to respond to simple "yes" "no" emails without me having to send them to her 3+ times.
Please take your business elsewhere. With Great Lakes and Kim, all you'll get is a massive bill and disappointment.

Kimberly Browning and Stephanie Taylor helped me through the hardest thing I had to go through in life. I lost my dad and didn't know what to do next. Kimberly over heard me talking to people at court trying to figure out what to do next and offered to help. They have been amazing the whole year they helped me with my dad's estate. I was first introduced to Mr. Tafelski years ago as my court appointed attorney. For anyone who doesn't know, a court appointed arrangment is not profitable for the lawyer at all, his fee couldn't have even covered his fuel expenses. It was basically pro bono. Anyway, I was facing a felony possession conviction and did not even have the money to bail myself out. Paul took my case all the way. He brought me a suit to wear to court so I did not have to wear jail "clothes". Paul not only tracked down a witness for my defense, he drove 30 miles one way just to remind the witness of the court date and make sure he would show up. When we went to jury trial Paul was a straight up stud. This guy is money in the courtroom! It was awesome. It was like watching a movie. I couldn't believe it. The bottom line is, Paul won the case for me and I was found 'not guilty'! Haha,Then Paul told me to keep the suit. The absolute best part was the look on the prosecutors face when the verdict was read. It was certainly different than the menacing sneer that she continuously shot my way throughout the entire case. The look on the face of the police officer who testified against me wasn't bad either.
My life has since turned around dramtically for the better and I have hired Paul for everything from my divorce to restoring my license. Someone at Paul's firm is reachable at all times and I have never felt better represented. I have never once felt rushed and people I know are amazed at how much time Paul always spends during consultations.
I will never need any other attorney for as long as Paul practices law and I would recommend him to anyone who needs help.
If your looking to hire an attorney who actually cares and shines in a court of law, Paul Tafelski is your man!

My case was quite unique in a sense that it was over a decade old. I had a previous lawyer and also represented myself to the Secretary of State without any good results, year after year. Long story short, Paul was able to clear me from the mess I had created in my underage days as I had moved from the state of Michigan and reside now in California. He was very professional and knowledgable with the little information he had on me long distance and handled my case very well. All in all he got me out of my bind and cleared my record. I recommend him for any OWI or DUI case you have.

About 4 years ago my wife had made the call to ABC law centers after researching various attorneys. We had actually been give an attorney’s phone number from a friend which we called. He talked to me for about two minutes and had no interest in trying to help. He wanted us to ask the doctors what happened to our son and then get back with him.
Jesse Reiter was FAR more concerned with trying to help us find out what had caused Matthew’s condition. He and his team took over an hour talking with my wife over the phone gathering information and then sent out the necessary paperwork so they could start looking into what had happened to Matthew. Since we had twin boys, Matthew and Andrew, they assured us that this was their specialty and they would get us answers.
The process then began with more paperwork and meetings as well as creating a video documentary for the care and condition of our son Matthew. All of this was done very professionally and within our hectic schedule. At no time did we ever feel like we were being pressured and everyone was very sympathetic to our needs.
Jesse Reiter and Rebecca Walsh worked very hard for us in this 4 year process. Jesse Reiter even commented on this being one of his longest cases that he has handled, but at no time did they waiver from the end goal of finding out what had caused Matthew’s condition.
Jesse and Rebecca did an AWESOME job of being sympathetic, patient, understanding and caring in their handling of our son’s case. Because of their hard work and persistence we are now assured of Matthew’s future care. This is a HUGE weight off of our minds because, as many parents, we were concerned of Matthew’s future for when we would no longer be around.

Brian returned my call and said don’t follow their instructions regarding a new “Failure to show up in court scam” He then called the sheriff impersonator who would not give his badge number and hung up confirming the scam.
