After emergency surgery to repair the damage from a compound fracture (including plates and screws) and a stay in the hospital, I began the search for an attorney to guide me through the legal process of addressing the incident.
Because of a previous auto accident when I was represented by Barry Lakritz, and because of the level of trust I had in him and his team, I reached out to his office to see if this would be something they could help me with. Once they saw the pictures of my arm prior to surgery, they immediately agreed to handle my grievance against the homeowner.
I understood how the process worked and that it might take some amount of time to gather evidence and process it through whatever necessary systems (i.e., insurance claim, court, etc). But, Lakritz Law took the time to keep in touch with me and explain exactly what was happening. They even came to the courthouse to view my personal petition regarding the disposition of the animal that attacked me (something they do not legally handle).
Lakritz Law worked quickly and professionally to address all my concerns. Their entire staff was extremely knowledgeable and responsive – with special gratitude to Erika for all her time and attention to the details. My wife and I unfortunately had an automobile accident in 2021, and Matt Brown and his team were referred to us by a family friend. They treated us well, took us seriously, and were extremely professional, and timely with how they handled our case with us. It was a three year process, and they stayed patient and kept with us the whole time. When it came to other parties or needing someone else to do something for us, they were aggressive in getting it done and made sure it was done properly for us. They took great care of us and our family, and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a lawyer to represent them.

TLDR: Great Lakes employs attorneys that are not only terrible at their job, but who will overbill you and treat you terribly.
You are doing yourself a tremendous disservice taking your business to Great Lakes. Kim Browning in particular is the single worst attorney I have ever had to deal with. She is both not very good at the legal aspect of her job, nor the customer service aspect.
She ended up billing me 3x higher than her initial estimate despite the fact that the case proceeded exactly as anticipated without any sort of hiccups.
What's more, despite the case progressing exactly as anticipated, she never gave me a clear understanding about what the next steps would be.
Worst, she WILL NOT RESPOND TO YOU. Despite paying her over $10k, she could not bother to respond to simple "yes" "no" emails without me having to send them to her 3+ times.
Please take your business elsewhere. With Great Lakes and Kim, all you'll get is a massive bill and disappointment.

Never able to get ahold of her constantly brushed off by her paralegals. After several months of trying to contact her I was finally able to get ahold of her. Had to re explain a very complicated situation front to back for the third time on the money clock of course. Spent damn near my entire $15k retainer yet didn’t even no the break down of my custody rights or what I was paying to friend of court after sending her every doc requested multiple times. Finally after 7 months and her yet again asking me to start from scratch with her I requested a refund. What a joke that was she put in little to no work on my case what so ever didn’t even remember who I was or what my case was and tried to charge me the full amount. After threatening to file a civil case witch she so disrespectfully laughed at me about and wished me luck she decided to compromise and only charge me $5k for the absolutely nothing she had done in those 7 months! Ms long you are a joke you should be ashamed of yourself taking advantage of people in times like these and cases like mine. I will do my absolutely best to spread the word and see to it no one gets scammed the way myself and family have been.
