Hey Google, why can’t we leave a zero star review? Unprofessional in a courtroom. Easily irritated by the presence of a concerned father at felony drug charge hearing involving a drug addict that is a subject in said father’s custody trial. If you see this, tell your client to not be a POS and he wouldn’t be in his position. Also, I’m humbled my presence rattled your cage. Maybe your client can hook you up with something to take the edge off.

This woman is only out for money and a feather in her cap. I decided NOT to hire her and was later up against her in Butler County as she was assigned as the divorce Master in my case. She should not have been but when I requested another master be reappointed, was told that she is the only Master in Butler County. This was a clear conflict of interest and after being told she would be fair and honest, she was anything but. I later come to find out she is extremely biased in her Master's duties in Butler County to side with the men. She often makes rude and derogatory comments to wives regarding their education and earning capacities making women feel like lesser individuals in divorces, myself included. She takes great pride in telling everyone how even tempered she is and how well rounded her decisions are. Someone needs to pull her decisions as a Master in Butler County to see the real truth. I only thank GOD that she did not get elected as a magistrate.

I faced theft charges that came out of nowhere and caused a great deal of stress and anxiety. Due to a past incident on my record the charges I faced became more of a burden to defend against. Attorney Misko was my second attorney – my original attorney had told me my chance of beating the charges against me were slim and to expect about 1 to 3 months of jail time. I interviewed a few attorneys and based off of Steve’s responses and confident manner my gut led me to choose him. One of the best decisions I ever made. Steve took time to research several angles of my case to provide the best defense at my trial I was facing. Steve was able to make enough of a showing of innocence and reasonable doubt that my case never went to trial. We were able to arrive at a settlement where I would pay a fine which would have been much less than the cost of going to trial – even though Steve could have made more money going to trial he made this happen because it was in his client’s best interest. By paying the fine the DA dropped the charges allowing me to avoid a stressful and expensive trial that would have required expensive expert witness and in the long run cost me far less than it would have to go to trial to prove innocence. The case had been dragging on with the original attorney for close to a year, Steve has it resolved in months for me – and probably saved years of my life due to the stress it was causing. While I hope to never need the services of a criminal Attorney again in my life, if I did need them there is NOBODY I would rather have at my side than Steve Misko. Steve, I cannot thank you more or your attentive, knowledgeable, and proactive manner in which you handled my case.

Armand did not help us in the child Custody case. The problem was a headstrong child who wanted to stay with un-related neighbors. He said my mother's behavoir was destructive toward the child which was completely un-true. The neighbors later began to steal her SS benefits. I only wish I had spoken up in court when the child was under oath asking her if her deceased father would have approved of her staying with the neighbors who he did not trust or like...but I kept my mouth shut instead. Armand cost us money with no good outcome.

Mr. Cingolani represented me in a DUI case involving prescription drugs. He was professional, candid, and thorough while representing me. I found his candid approach refreshing and helpful throughout my case. It was most helpful putting my anxiety at ease and refraining from second guessing myself. Mr. Cingolani consistently provided words of encouragement and reviewed ways to respond to questions that gave the facts without becoming long winded. Throughout my case, I was always impressed with his knowledge of the law and ability to cite textbook cases that were relevant to my DUI case. In my opinion, Mr. Cingolani is one of the best and I have referred him to other individuals. Anyone who needs superior representation needs to contact Mr. Armand Cingolani.

SAVE YOUR MONEY. RUN AWAY. 1 star is too much! I hired this woman for my sister to get a divorce in February. She charged a retainer of $1950. Having done nothing more than original filing, in April, her one of three assistants in only 6 months sent us an email stating we still had $ 844 left of our retainer. That had to be wrong. Then we got her to file a quitclaim deed which should normally be about 300. Then her new assistant calls wanting another 1950 in addition to the original 1950. When asked, she sent a bill totaling $1139 of which the quitclaim process was only $367.50. Which only at that point bringing our retainer balance down to $811. So how in April could it have been only 844? She could not justify the overage and sent us a bill that supposedly was not complete yet. Who does that? Seems like she was just short on cash flow. So, to continue the divorce which was uncontested, no kids, as simple as it gets, she wanted an extra $1950 to finish it. This is how she gets you. Quote low, then fee it up and hide behind her retainer agreement. In my opinion she is nothing more than a GREEDY THIEF. Do not waste your money, your time, or risk anything important using this attorney. We will be referring this to the State Bar so as hopefully noone else get this treatment. Also, it is peculiar that the good reviews she gets are by supposed clients that strangely only leave positive reviews on everything to the point of looking like advertising. Just 5s and 1s, nothing in between. Strange that all the 1s say the same thing. Wish we had looked closer first. What a nightmare.

I met attorney Gail E. Suhr over 10 years ago when I found myself needing legal guidance. Gail went above and beyond to handle my situation with efficiency, professionalism and a familial compassion towards myself as her client. Since then, the Law Offices of Gail E. My first impression was that she had cared about me and wanted to do what was needed. She and her team did what was needed for the first few months. However, throughout the process lack of communication occurred on her end. She quoted one rate for things at our consultation which turned out to not be accurate. She charged more than once for the same document. She never listened to me and fulfilled my needs after I told her not to do one thing. She promised me that I would be divorced in a year. That was 12-2018 and it is approaching three years as I am still stuck in the abusive relationship that I reached out to her to end. I sent numerous emails throughout the months where she and MacKenzie stopped doing anything related to my divorce. My last email was approximately one month ago. I kept telling both of them that it was still my intention to divorce but never received any communication back. Calling the office is a joke because you are told that the message will be relayed and just like emails they are ignored. I have done some research as a friend had recommended her and from what this friend told me there are others that feel that she did not meet their needs. Be forewarned that you will be overcharged and that she may not always have your best interest in mind.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
