Well it’s been 10 years ago and I can tell you Cynthia is a great attorney. She took my case and made it a “slam dunk” (Cynthia’s words) She is perisonalble and will help you legally. She’s also a great person along with her family. I never wrote her a review but now I am (very happy customer) -Michael Poole

Cynthia Harris is the lawyer for anyone looking for a winning case. My divorce case took 7 years and had gone to trial. I was the respondent who left the marriage and was absent raising my children for 7 years. Cynthia’s 43 years family law experiences played a huge part of winning the case of sole physical and custody of the children. She is pleasant, compassionate, and have a winning strategy that is rare in the industry. 5 stars for Cynthia Harris and will definitely recommend her law expertise to divorce cases.

I engaged Harris Law Office to assist with a consultation for my small business. Laurel was prompt, professional, and a joy to work with. I have no issues recommending Harris Law Office to any friends, family or colleagues that are in need of legal assistance.

This clown works for his daddy and sues and goes after anyone that rents an airstream from the family company (Roam & Board). They also sue for bad Yelp reviews. They claim the same damages over and over with every renter no matter what. We have a group of us that have come together and we are currently putting together evidence and a plan to expose them for bad business practices and strip this clown of his law license.

I cannot say enough good things about Bruno. My first experience, he took a completely botched personal bankruptcy and for a fraction of the cost I had already paid to the "high-powered" BK attorney...who messed everything up.....Bruno was able to fix it, file it, and get my BK cleared. My second encounter with Bruno was even better. Out of the goodness of his heart, he assisted me in fighting a wrongful termination lawsuit when the attorneys attempted to re-open my BK in order to get out of paying the settlement. Not only did he work tirelessly to fight the incompetency of the employment attorneys, he was able to get me a small settlement...of which he took less than his costs as compensation. I consider Bruno a friend and a champion of the underdog who is not afraid to fight other attorneys. I would recommend him without hesitation to ANYONE who is faced with a BK or foreclosure. I cannot thank him enough for what he did for me and my family! It's just too bad he isn't licensed in Nevada where I now live!!!! There needs to be more Bruno's in the legal profession.

My wife & I wanted to take the time to say that if you are looking for a very thorough and excellent lawyer in San Diego county then look no further than attorney Bruno Flores. My wife & I were very stressed out with debt and garnishments and we were in need of a bankruptcy attorney. After speaking with many different lawyers, some of them made us feel belittled due to our circumstances but attorney Bruno Flores had such professionalism and made us feel comfortable from the moment we spoke with him. Attorney Bruno Flores really takes an awesome "human approach" to his legal profession which will make you not only feel confident that your case will be handled perfectly, but also takes away a lot of stress that you may be experiencing. I could go on and on however bottom line is that this is by far the most efficient, professional lawyer that gets the job done right. By the way, during the meeting of the creditors I witnessed many cases not getting confirmed due to the clients lawyers seemingly appearing unprepared to answer the most common questions any trustee would ask and this is where Attorney Bruno Flores shines in that not only did I receive confirmation without any hiccups, he was prepared to resolve any potential questions the trustee had regarding the case. Clearly, the most thorough and well prepared lawyer in the court room on the day I went to court, and I could just sense others looking at my attorney as if they were thinking to themselves, gosh how come my lawyer isn't that good.

Agreed with the last one star rating. Started off talking about politics when nobody brought it up. Very bossy and Gruff. Not a smile or laugh. Made comments about my attire as to be judging me and putting me down. I'm disabled and it took every ounce of energy to get to his office. Sorry if I didn't have a suit and tie on. He could of told me over the phone he didn't want my case but seemed to want to see me in person to tell me no. Just a very cold feeling from him. Not someone you want when you are truly hurt by others. Grumpy. Time to retire buddy. You can't take your $ with you.

I found Mark quite inappropriate business wise, met him to go over possibly taking my case, he seemed quite scattered, but I figured he was out of his office setting so tried to continue with my issue. It was different, but ok until he walked me out, started talking politics & abortion, and quite strongly, told me if I voted for Trump, he would pray for me. I didn't say a thing about voting for Trump or politics or abortion! WEIRD for an attorney to go there when it had nothing to do with my potential case, it made me quite uncomfortable, like if I didn't agree with him, he wouldn't take me on. Continued to tell me he was a single father and his wife cheated on him twice. Ok?!?!? I'm in a very scary and tenuous situation in my home, due to conditions out of my control, as well as health issues. He tied me up for 2 weeks (I spent putting info together as he asked) then when I asked a simple "yes or no" question he said we weren't a match, no explanation or even a phone call (via text). I am old school and find that a bit cowardly, not to mention unprofessional! Back to square 1! Thanks for wasting my time! Probably for the best, I should have done my homework first, need a high-powered elder abuse firm, blessed I found them shortly after his "not a match text". I waited a day and a half, plus 2 texts from me for that! He may very well be a good litigator, I don't know, but as far as the humanity side with a new client and appropriate conversation, no thanks! I feel confident the 5 stars were slam dunk cases with lots of bucks. That is why they are called ambulance chasers, this was not my case, is it an elder abuse resulting in PI. I also asked him if he would write a letter if I paid him his hourly fee if he didn't take the case and he said he never charges for a letter but didn't even address that in his text. I'm all about integrity and keeping your word. Maybe time to retire Mark!

When I needed his help, I truley had help. Knowledgable, professional, and yes: Kind ! This attorney helped me through a very rough patch in my life. Things were settled quickly and what was the Best, no one got hurt or even offended. Truth and fairness won out, and this is what I like best about Rickard Borg.. His devotion to fairness and the Facts. Am overwhelmed by his ability to see the " human" side of things... and be more than reasonable with his Fees. Things got settled correctly and we were treated with the utmost compassion and respect. Rick Borg comes highly recommanded by us.. we owe him a host of gratitude and wish that his type of lawering would be Norm I just had to say all this because of the gratitude I have and for the help he was to me and my family. " This attorney you do want on your side.. when you face a legal matter." I can not say enough good about this man. Thank you again, Mr. Borg, you are the Best.. and my family and I will never forget Addie J

Has a complete lack of knowledge of the law. Gives client information about the law that is incorrect. This incorrect information leaves the client vulnerable to excessive damages. Says he knows all in real estate law, and will insult you when you present him with the correct information you researched. Then tells you to do more research to further prove the case. Very condescending and rude. Does not advise his clients appropriately. Wish I had never had to deal with him.

Dawn charged a lot of money, got very little done and was extremely vague on her billing statements. She gave advice contrary to the trust that she was retained work on. She also referred a CPA who wanted to charge 5 times the average to prepare IRS form 706,($17k for one form to be exact). It took her a week to return an email or phone call. It was a very frustrating experience with her.

Ms Hersch has helped me with various issues over the past several years. She is honest and has the highest ethics. Besides being highly competent what I really love about her is that she really cares about me. She makes that clear in the way that she listens and takes time to arrive at the very best approach to solve the problems I set before her. I would never want to use anyone else. She is the best.

I called with a very solid Workman's comp and discrimination claim. the woman was rude, angry, argumentative, and hostile. She interrupted me constantly. She clearly didn't believe my story even though I have a diagnosis from 2 doctor's including my employer's appointed physician and I have been cleared for workman's comp. This woman is not professional. I pity anyone that hires her.

Because of Steven, my divorce has been low cost and without drama. Steve has been brutally honest with me in regards to what I’m entitled to but also has fought relentlessly for me without adding unnecessary drama. He has been honest, moral, aggressive, empathetic, and competent. I would guess that any bad review I see is likely from someone who is difficult to work with.

Attorney Steven Fritsch was appointed Minor's Counsel for my son for very concerning reasons. Even with many requests to do his job, Steven has proven to be incompetent in protecting and advocating for my son -- 50 days with zero contact with my son (15-year-old). It takes five minutes to call my son. Steven has also been very unprofessional. In my first phone call with him, I respectfully asked him, "What's the game plan?" Instead of an empathetic message along the lines of "I'm sorry your family is in this situation. I will be contacting the professionals involved and do my best to represent your son," Steven Fritsch's approach was extremely harsh, rude, and unprofessional: "I don't need to tell you my plan. I don't need your approval." Clearly, our experience of working with him has been very unpleasant and frustrating.

Steven's failure to comprehend the facts and failure to relay those facts in a coherent unbiased way prolonged the parental visitation that was agreed upon. Furthermore, his lack of follow through on simple matters delayed reunion by several months increasing the cost and time associated with the ordeal, almost as if it was orchestrated.

Ms. Howe handled my case in Stanley Prowse's office. Stationeries, taking calls, reading e-mails, writing e-mails, taking phone calls from other parties, photocopies, discussing billing questions, transferring of case to another staff member, etc. Anything and everything that required human activity was billed to me. I engaged them for a partition of a property co-owned with my aunt Annie Yeo (Carlsbad/San Marcos, CA). The amount sought was $16k. The legal cost was $16k. In short, my net return was zero. Her rate was $225/hour. She billed 6 minutes for reading an e-mail, costing $22. Multiply that by number of e-mails over the 10 months my case lasted. That alone is enough to not recommend her, or at least for as long as she's in his office. You can find other attorneys that can provide quality service at lower costs.

Mr Ferreira took my case with 2 weeks of anticipation for evidentiary hearing, my case has been going on for 8 years and there is a volume of actions in the history of the case. I wanted to recover my lost joint legal and increase my custody time with a female judge that has not been sympathetic with rights of the father. He said he was going to be prepared and spent time studying my case but that he also had other cases that he needed to finish. At our hearing, he was not able to litigate the credibility of the moms allegations or present valid objections to the opposing party arguments. I didn't feel protected or looked after much less defended or advocated. Seem like he was putting up a show with no direction or goal and did not presented or establish evidence correctly in front of the judge. This greatly help my opponent. In addition, after he was told to prepare OAH, took 9 months to submit to Judge for final approval. This is clearly against the local rules which established a clear period of time if opposing counsel don't respond. I will definitively stay away from this attorney do not recommend. Don't waste your money.

Please beware of this attorney. Her severe lack of ethics directly harms the children she "represents" as Minor's Counsel. She makes alliances...and self-interest/money supplants children's safety, well-being, best interests and justice & truth. There is a shocking underbelly to the San Diego Family Court system particularly North County. Do very careful research and please protect your children regardless of whether you are the mother or the father.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
