Victoria and her staff were amazing in my custody modification case. I've never trusted a lawyer untill I had her as one. She was aggressive in all the right ways, listened to me and helped achieve something I had been trying to get done for years. You cannot go wrong. No lawyer can guarantee a certain outcome, but she will put in the work for you. Absolutely amazing!

Victoria and her staff are knowledgeable, resourceful, and courteous with an expert level dedication to your case and all relevant details and findings. My case was complex and multifaceted, and it was handled with class, tenacity, and thorough follow through. Would recommend to anyone needing a top level no nonsense attorney. Everything you could want and expect in your time of need and professionalism. My case was emotionally exhausting, and the countless hours her team spent preparing, researching, corroborating testimony, precedents, and obtaining records I had not previously possessed contributed to an extremely well prepared case at trial. From start to finish, she reminded me of the positives we had in front of us and urged me to lean on faith, wisdom, and love as I trusted the process. The decision came back favourable and I couldn’t have imagined getting here without Victoria and her team. Eternally grateful for all your help and skills when I needed them the most.

Victoria was more than prepared for me , was responsive, and explained things and answered questions in layman’s terms, so that I would feel comfortable. I couldn’t be happier with her level of care , concern, and expertise. I appreciate her and her staff all of their time and commitment to me.

In case anyone isn't aware, Benjamin shut down both his office in Cedar Radius, and his office in Huxley around the beginning of July. He took payment for my case, and he did complete the case. However, he did not inform me when he shut down his offices, and left me hanging for a month. I believe the only reason he did complete the case was because I contacted the prosecutor myself. I also, in my venture to find him and get answers, contacted his former employer, and she didn't get back to me until four months after the fact. Shutting down your practice without informing your current clients... Shutting down your practice without closing submissions... Shutting down your practice without shutting down your website... Massive failure as a lawyer and potential ethics violations. Leaving clients without any notice of withdrawal of counsel.... That's extremely unprofessional Ben, and I can now see where such habits were built.

I requested a consult last week using the submission form. I used the BBB site to email them, it has been three business days and no response. I called once and received a recording, did not leave a message due to privacy. Are they out of business or just don't need or want the work ? I will move on. When I see that CLO responds to another reviewer with "Our attorneys unfortunately cannot contact everyone who believes they have a case" is unprofessional. The web site makes it appear they are well staffed, every request for a consult deserves a response even if it is not a lawyer. Bad customer service and I am a member of their community.

I’d highly recommend the Community Law Office in Cedar Rapids. Ben is an incredible lawyer. He has been a huge help in guiding us through the process, answering our questions and explaining things so that they make sense. Ben is very knowledgeable, approachable and experienced as a lawyer and gave us great peace of mind going through each step in the process. Thank you Ben and team at CLO for all your support!

All of the reviews seem to be for Tom. Iv had one of their lawyers assist me in a traffic case and he gave me 30 minutes of his time with really no results. I heard he may have been let go after my case which is good. Businesses need to perform and be accountable for their results. I recently called in and spoke with a diffrent attourney and more or less he didn't want to help me. Iv got a bad taste in my mouth from this firm. I have not experienced Tom's performance. He is approaching $500/ hr.

Waited three years for a win for a workman's comp case, but alas they took 25 percent of everything, out of pocket expenses and after being handed the check I'm not so sure it was worth it, I won 95 dollars and a debt that still isn't paid that's actively tank my credit from my accident three years ago. All so I can cash my winnings to immediately give it back to the people that issued it to me. What a scam

Rich Pazdernik will take your money and leave you worse off. No communication. Early on I met with Rich and he would ask the same questions as if hearing the case for the first time. He never understood it and mixed up names and details in his filings. Rich quickly turned into a ghost. I documented calling him 18 times over two months before he talked to me for a couple of minutes. I was kept in the dark for months at a time. Rich never answers questions. He ignores you and does what he wants. Rich will miss deadlines. I had to call and demand Rich file the Appearance and Answer to my case the day before it was due. I could have lost my case by default. Ignores Conflicts of Interest. Rich was negligent in checking for conflicts of interest before taking my case. Rich waited 6 months then quit my case because he discovered he previously worked for the guy who is suing me. Excessive fees. I had to demand a billing 4 times and it took him 25 days to produce. Rich agreed to work for $250/hour but he billed me at $300/hour. He has billing entries for when he was out of town on vacation. It’s also a strange that his billing matches the retainer that I paid him. Rich left me in the lurch. He quit on me 10 days before Pretrial. He said he would find a replacement attorney and never did. I had to file my own Motion for Continuance to avoid trouble with the court. New attorney agrees Rich did not provide competent service. I was told the work he did is full of mistakes and done incorrectly. I regret going to Rich Pazdernik, he has caused stress and wasted my time and money. Before writing this review I talked to Rich in good faith about a refund or partial refund. He just gaslights me. Ethics complaints have been filed against Rich to the Iowa Attorney Disciplinary Board.

Pazdernik has done some serious job... After all, he gives deferred judgments, even when there was no probable cause for E-X-T-O-R-T=I-O-N. As for a legal defense, you're better off defending yourself, that is, if you even are issued a summons. So how do you defend yourself from a crime you did not commit, when in an orange jacket? Get a real lawyer, like Mathahs. Take them out for racketeering. They constantly create delinquent debt cases even without crimes. They report people wrong, commit perjury and fraud without any real defense for themselves. If they've tried you wrongly, report them to the DOJ and FBI. 5 stars for reading.

I went in for a consultation for bankruptcy and was NOT impressed at all, he was rude and made me feel like he didnt want my business. The first thing when we got to his office there was no one there so we just stood there waiting for someone to come out to help us after a little bit a lady came out and asked if we had been helped and i said no, I told her my name and who I had an appointment with, she went and told him I was here after waiting for what seemed like forever he came out and got us. On the way back to his office, instead of saying hello or how are you or anything like that he said well lets hurry up and get you back here so we can get you out of here. Really? That was a bad sign already, then while in his office he was NOT friendly at all he got more of a rude attitude towards me cuz he had to use a calculator. He NEVER told me I had to have everything written out for him so I just brought all my statements. so after he calculated the amount he quoted me how much he would cost and he kept dwelling on, if he had to do extra work it wold be $150 a hour. He made me feel very uncomfortable, stupid, not welcome to be talking to him, and in general that he didnt want my business. The whole appointment lasted only 17 minutes so there really was no time for him to even look at my stuff, he already had his mind made up before I ever got there that he didnt want my case. I DO NOT recommend this joke lawyer to anyone. Bankruptcy is already a stressful time you dont want a lawyer to make you feel worse. I recommend Hong Law if anyone is looking for a good, friendly lawyer that truly cares about you.

Dana Judas moonlights as a county magistrate and she completely botched my open-and-shut case. Her performance was so egregious that the Court actually mailed me a note admitting she had screwed everything up. If Dana Judas performs this poorly on such a simple matter, I can only imagine how piss poor she is as an actual attorney... She'll cut corners, and not take your case seriously.

Men, steer clear of this place...Here's the reasons why. ...It's exactly how all of these other reviews are. Dana Judas is one of the worst attorneys we have ever hired. We have hired numerous real estate and family law lawyers throughout the years. Hands down doesn't have any fight, sided with other counsel numerous times just to get a tentative decision without going to court. Would go as far as to begin deals without consulting us. WE created all the exhibits, and she billed us for that. We would ask a question about the case and wouldn't receive a call back for weeks. When she did call back she wouldn't have anything prepped from our exhibits, emails. Prepping for court we went in and she wouldn't have anything figured out as she was trying to ask questions about all the info we had already sent her, which means no review at all. We put down a retainer for court and our first visit with her things starting going south. She started getting frustrated by us having an opinion of how we wanted the problem handled. Save your money, They conveniently billed out the retainer to the max without going to court . My belief it was to keep our money (BTW). Just shows distrust. She stated the retainer would be for review, prep, and hearing. You know most of the retainer is when you sit in court all day. Didn't end up in court because i was feeling she wasn't qualified to handle my case. Either she was getting fired or withdrawing from the case. She didn't even file all of our exhibits. Once again conveniently billed it all the way up to our full retainer. What a joke! If you're a guy it's tough already. Having an attorney that doesn't fight makes it even worse. She just laughed and said my wife sent her a thank you email saying "sorry it ended up like this". I mean what else is someone suppose to say "with class" to part ways with someone who doesn't perform their job correctly.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.

    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
