Paid 3,000 up front for a child custody battle. It was 6,000 total. Natalie was my attorney was cordial and cold all at the same time. They charge $40.00 per email per call. They do allow you to make payments for the balance. Which was $500.00 a month. Once paid the $3,000.00 I never heard from them for about 30 days. They did informed me that they email me but it went to junk because they don’t normally email me. But they allow 30 days to pass and had said nothing. They say they were waiting on me but in 30 days they never followed up to make sure I got the email. The assistant was explaining this while at the same time missing my opportunity to get on the court calendar since I haven’t seen my daughter in a Year and half and asking for another $500.00 dollars payment. I had to do dispute for the funds back because they would not refund me the funds back. That takes 60-90 days. So now my money is tied up until that clears and I still don’t get to see my princess. In short they were second biggest waste of time and money coming close to first to my Ex-wife!

Seems like reviews are everywhere. I read them to try and gain some insight from the voices of the many. Every now again, I even try my hand at writing one. Then there are the moments that it is absolutely necessary to share your experience with others and this is one of those times. While there is not enough time to take you through all the twist and turns that lead us to the doorsteps of the practice of Phillips & McCrea, PLLC and ultimately Mr. Phillips, it proved to be out of the many things that were not going in our favor, the very one thing that did and it made all the difference in our outcome. We have a special needs child and needed help with his disability case after some experiences that we will just describe by saying that we wish they were not a part of our story. If you live long enough you know the road bends and it turns and what becomes certain in this life is that nothing is for certain. But there was a ram in the bush and if you know what that expression means, then you know the importance of the job Mr. Phillips rendered unto us at a professional level that not only is uncommon today; but you could make a strong argument if it even exist. Our experience with Mr. Phillips takes us through multiple years where even we wanted to surrender because we had nothing left in the tank; and I’m not talking about our tank was low, I mean notta, zero, zilch! Yet if not for Mr. Phillips encouragement in the face of what seemed insurmountable, his willingness to be patient and steadfast, and his professional acumen, our path would have been altered in ways we could not explain. If anyone may have any doubts, unanswered questions or any reservations as to whether you have found the right attorney, I would ask that you stop what you are doing immediately and call Mr. Phillips on the phone NOW!!! Not only do we highly recommend him, drop the mic here………. I will end this review by leaving you with a very important question. From personal experience I know how important it is to choose the right attorney to guide you through legal matters that a high level of expertise and sophistication is not only required, but demanded, why would you trust anyone else in such a time as this?

I hired the firm in December 2023, I was really excited at first but as the months went by I started to feel as if they were incompetent to handle my auto accident case. I would be told one thing and then 1-2 days later I would be told something else. Noone seems to be on the same page. I was given a date that the case would be settled only for that day to come and be told something completely different. It was always "we're waiting on this paperwork, once it was received it was well we have to wait for this paperwork " very unprofessional and indecisive. Going on 5 months and I'm still waiting for case to settle. I was told it would possibly be another week to 2 months. At this point just drop me and my claim. For a fee of 33⅓%, I had higher expectations! truly disappointed 😞 and stressed at this point. I feel like I did more work than they did.

I had a great experience.

My experience with the Noble Law Firm was first class from start to finish. From the first conversation I had with Alex Kelly, the attorney who handled my case, I knew I was in good hands. He is highly intelligent, extremely well-versed in employment/labor law, and he communicates in a clear and timely manner. He has a way of explaining complex topics in layman’s terms and I felt very clear about the case and the legal activities along the journey. Even though the reason for reaching out to the Noble Law Firm was based on a series of stressful events, having effective representation and working with Attorney Kelly, who truly cared about my case, did make the journey a little better. I am pleased with the resolution of my case, and I KNOW it would not have been resolved as successfully without the support and effective counsel the Noble Law Firm provided.

I called and talked to intake lady by the name of Alyssa. She took down my basic information but we never discussed my case. She told me an attorney would be reaching out to me to discuss the case. I also received an email stating the same thing. I waited all day for an attorney to contact me but nobody did. And of course I got an email after business hours to say they declined to represent me, How is that possible since I never even talked to an attorney. So I called back the next morning and was told by another intake lady that she had no information on why I was turned down and that I could not talk to an attorney. It would of been nice to hAve an attorney contact me personally to say why I was turned down but instead they took the cowardly way out by sending an automated email.

I couldn’t have gotten a stronger client advocate or a more knowledgeable employment lawyer than Laura Noble. She worked incredibly hard on my behalf and her efforts resulted in a successful outcome for my case. In addition to being a well-respected attorney, Laura is determined, ethical, and compassionate...a credit to her profession. I highly recommend her for her exceptional legal knowledge, amazing service, and commitment to her clients.

We hired Adam back in July of 2018 to represent us on a auto case and he at first was very responsive but as soon as we got his first bill he never spoke to us again. I started asking around the community and found out he is a small time attorney which may be why he didn't represent us properly, but all I wanted him to do was call me (I would respond to his emails CALL ME PLEASE) and he would only respond what do you want to talk about? Are you kidding me the amount of money we are paying you and you wont even call a client back! I will gladly share our email interactions, just call me Mario 704-284-8057. He finally did call me back the other day, buy when I explained my concerns with the case and disappointment he chose to withdraw as our attorney than fight for us as his client! He is a poor attorney and I would say based on my experience go to a referral attorney vs. one that has stars, they obviously are a joke. Save your money with this guy!

I referred to Mr. Altman by my accountant when I was looking for an attorney to help me with starting my real estate investment business. After our initial consultation, I was convinced that I was going to have Mr. Altman help me with incorporating my business. He was very knowledgeable and extremely patient when it came to explaining the next steps that I should take. Mr. Altman was always a phone call or email away and was always timely with his responses. When everything was completed I received all of the relevant paperwork neatly organized in a notebook....very impressive. I do plan on employing Mr. Altman when legal matters arise in the future. Great Job Adam !!!!

I have had to deal with attorneys before but they are pretty much cut from the same cloth....except for Atty Joe. From the moment that I met him, he was easy going and sincere. He wasn't pompous or try to talk down to me. He patiently listened to my concerns and helped me to think through some tough decisions... He didn't mind sharing personal experiences that helped me to feel better about my choice to file BK. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good BK attorney. You won't go wrong.

Mr. Bochiccio was not forthcoming about my Chapter 13 bankruptcy case. Assured me that ALL my property would be protected. Image my surprise when my car was repossessed late one evening. When asked if I could reclaim my vehicle, Mr. Bochicchio toldd me it was not possible. Finally, I sought a second opinion. I was surprised to learn that my car could have been returned.

I hope i stay on this guys good side. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Mr. Bochicchio!

Lauren Newton has been a godsend to me. With my complex case many people wouldn’t have took it on, but Lauren believed in me and wanted to seek justice for me kept me updated every step of the way, not only being my attorney, but being a friend when going through Traumatic experience. Lauren fought for me and I am forever grateful for her. I call her my small but mighty because she will get the job done.

I have had horrible service from Ms. Newton. My case was very simple and I had to stay on top of them every step of the way. The most recent trouble began when I made a doctors appointment to get a referral for a specialist. After paying 84 dollars for the visit they called me 2 hours later to let me know that it fell through and I wouldn't be treated by them. I wasted my money to get a referral that wasn't needed because apparently it has not been important enough for them to call me back. Not to mention, if I want to know any information about my case, I have to call and call. When I finally get a call back it is from someone new. I have been very dissatisfied with the service. My case is now with a different firm.

My wife and I were struck head on by a drunk driver traveling nearly 100 mph and a BAC nearly triple the legal limit. We were both hospitalized for a lengthy time, but needed representation immediately. Thankfully, our family found Mr. Monnett's firm on the internet and decided to call them. Lauren Newton was one of our primary contacts for more than a year and she was truly amazing. Her response time, attention to detail, and diligence was unmatched. She played a vital role in convincing the jury to decide in our favor. My wife and I certainly give Mrs. Newton our highest recommendation.

Complete waste of time and money. We hired Mr. Jarvis for a child support case that he said would be cut and dry. We should have known better when we pulled up to the strip mall his office is in and especially when his conference room door would not close all the way. Almost 12 months later and he has produced no results. We are literally still at the starting line. He takes days to respond to emails or phone calls. Finally in November we had our court date, we take the day off of work, sit there in court, come to find out our court date was cancelled. HE HAD NO CLUE.... Fast forward to February, still no court date, turns out he had never requested a new court date after the last one got cancelled. We sent an email (because he is never available to talk on the phone) to inquire how he has dropped the ball so badly in our case. His response was that he is resigning from the case and will refund the remaining balance from our account. We were refunded 1/3 of what we paid up front. All of our money spent on one court appearance, emails and returning phone calls. We asked for an itemized receipt on how he wasted our money and of course he cannot produce one. Now we have to hire a real lawyer to clean up after him.

Mr. Jarvis was my court appointed lawyer, and I don't think I could had hired a better one myself. My family and I was almost ripped apart by the state of NC for no reason at all... only based on what they "thought" happened. The states social services department has way too much power for their own good. My lawyer Mr. Jarvis... went above and beyond in the court room and got our family reunited. I couldn't be more appreciative of him!

Ms. Coulter stood by my side over five years and guided me as I dealt with my ex who had destroyed us financially and was a bully for 15 years. She helped me stand up for my own self that I hadn't been able to do for years. I agree that she gives so much of herself and focuses so much on each client that sometimes things do get missed. That is such a minor concern that if would never keep me from returning to her if need be. Just follow up yourself. If the end you will get justice. She told me upfront, "I want only the truth from you. I won't represent you if you lie about anything." She has been nothing but completely frank, loyal, clear, understated, and doesn't let you think things will go well if she doesn't think they will, shes a realist. She will be straight with you. The judges respect her and she knows so much about the law community that her insights will serve you well. Worth every dime!

Isla represented me in my divorce. I firmly believe that Isla's lack of attention and unresponsiveness to calls and emails dramatically increases my costs and resulted in my ex filing a lawsuit 2 weeks before mediation. Asked opposing council to write the separation agreement then never read it. I had to read and reread the agreement and catch unfavorable changes. She did not represent me to opposing council and provided me with minimal advice. If I had it all over to do again, I would have listened to my inner voice and fired her.

I have worked with Isla Tabrizi in my divorce, child custody case, and child support case. Not only is she wonderful at explaining everything to me, she also took the time to get to know me as a person. I had to make a move and Isla had to share hard truths with me. She did so respectfully, never giving me false expectations and fought hard for me. When I saw Isla in the courtroom, I was shocked by how convincing she was and how strong of a presence she had. When speaking with her about matters, she always seems so even and calm. She helps keep the situation steady when you’re going through a tough circumstance. I also appreciate the level of professionalism and composure she added to my documents. Nothing came across as finger-pointing or petty because she simply keeps it all classy and clean. I would recommend her and her team to anyone looking for caring, trustworthy, and professional representation.

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?

  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
