Currently unable for my fiancée to even get into contact with this man. Or his assistant in which he told him to contact. He then proceeded to lie in court stating they haven’t had any prior contact after we’ve been dealing with this arrest since 08/2023. It’s now almost May of 2024. It’s now only a few days until his next court date and still not able to get into contact with Taj. To where my fiancée has had to request time off from work to walk into his physical office in person to try and get some information on his case and an update on possible charges or what he’s going to push for etc. I’m frustrated for him as he’s trying to better himself since one stupid mistake. This man needs to do better at contacting his clients. Not just the once’s that are physically locked up in jail

The only reason it is not a 5 star is the hurried approach at the beginning of the case. I do not recall if it was a Monday or Thursday in court he was ALWAYS OVERBOOKED!! He needed at least another 72 hours a week to give ALL OF HIS ASSIGNED CASES his full 100% attention and effort!!! Larry and Tanya (I hope I spelled that correctly) are priceless resources!!!! Whatever they are getting paid, it should be doubled!!!! And the customer is always right!!!! So… “git ‘er dun!”

Mr. Holzhauer represented my wife and I in a property line dispute on a property we own in Paradise, Ca.. Our neighbor encroached on our eastern property line by building a fence 6 feet onto our property and refused to remove it. We tried to physically remove it but he called the police every time we tried to do so.
We ended up in court to settle the dispute. Mr. Holzhauer did a fantastic job representing our interests and we ended up winning a judgement requiring our neighbor remove the fence.
Charles kept us informed at every step of the process and advised us on the best way to proceed. His fees were very reasonable. We highly recommend him for any real estate related problems.

After my disabled son’s wife filed for divorce and exploited his impairments by tricking him into signing all community property to herself - as his Power of Attorney I retained counsel. After six months of her deceptive/deterrent tactics - despite being sanctioned $1500 for them - we switched lawyers in December 2021. We retained Krista based on all of the 5-star reviews about her successfully fighting for other clients; but after ten months of giving her the benefit of the doubt, and wanting to avoid starting over with a third attorney, we ended up having a zero-star experience.
She did disclose that a few upcoming medical procedures might slow progress, but they caused major delays and seriously compromised her performance.
Due to COVID, she was working from home with no staff. Lacking support, her communications with us and the petitioner were mostly via informal emails which were often delayed. There were also significant enough errors in emails to the petitioner, that I began drafting them for accuracy myself so she could copy/paste and send them.
Due to the thousands resulting from the petitioner’s non-compliance, I told Krista that I wanted to ask for legal fees in the settlement - but she said we shouldn’t since the petitioner didn’t have an attorney, and a judge would see it as bullying.
When it came to making timely repairs to the neglected marital home to maximize profit and list it during a sellers-market bubble, Krista kept making allowances for the petitioner’s ongoing deterrent tactics, which postponed our ability to list it until the market was on the decline - diminishing potential proceeds.
Once there was an offer and a closing date set for the end of September 2022, a critical document requiring my son’s signature was emailed to her at the end of August 2022; but with only a few days til closing, our panicked real estate broker was asking where it was. When I called her about it, Krista found and forwarded it to us [with no apology for the oversight or stress/inconvenience], and we had to scramble to get it to the buyer’s broker in time.
After the sale of the house, she rescheduled a phone appointment last minute - only to no-show us at the re-scheduled time! When she missed calling by 15 minutes, I texted but got no reply. At the half-hour point, I called and left a voicemail, but she didn't call back until a few hours later. With no apology, she said that the appointment didn’t show up on her calendar, that she had been at the Verizon store all morning, so could we reschedule again! At this point, I terminated her services.
Since the majority of her 5-star reviews included her then assistant and go back to 2014 - I am posting this to save others from the frustration, stress, expense, and lost time that we experienced.

If I could give Lori no stars I would. She's a liar in open court. She does not have what is best for the children in her heart....if she has one. Helps liars take away children from the other parents all on her own opinion. God forbidden should she have done what she was appointed to her and not focused on her pockets getting bigger by the opposite side. She was supposed to be minors counsel as appointed. But if you pay her enough she'll do whatever you want regardless. She's judgemental, rude, stupid (could not tell the difference between a pit bull and a Boxer). She acts as if she god and can do as she chooses. Oh how the universe always turns and when it comes back around her good friend Karma will be riding alone. She accomplished in our first appearance what I have been trying to get done for two years now. Our appointment with Nicole was to primarily give Power of Attorney to our daughter and possibly update our nine-year- old Trust. We were happy with the first Trust and only wanted to make a few changes. There was a focus on fees right off and we were asked to make a $5,000 deposit that day and the hourly fee was about $315.00.
At our appointment, Nicole spent 1 1/2 hours primarily making copies of our old Trust and making copies of everything we had. She also drew many diagrams (that we looked at upside down from across the table). She didn't ask enough questions, so when we got home, I wrote a short letter with the names and proper spellings of our family members and other important information.
We received a draft very quickly of the new Trust and her assistant made 2-3 telephone calls checking our progress. The draft was full of errors -- including our names and especially the full name of our daughter who was going to have Power of Attorney.
We told the assistant that we were unhappy with the careless preparation and would go ahead with the Powers of Attorney only and not the Trust update.
The fine print of the Attorney Contract said that there would be no refund if a Trust draft was issued (no matter how quickly and carelessly it was made) and three telephone calls. It was obvious that we would lose the full $5,000, but we decided to look for a better attorney anyway.
We did find another Chico Attorney -- who gave us exactly what we wanted in a clear concise document and explained exactly what to do when the time came for surviving trustees to use the document.

This is in response about a review that a so called 'friend' made giving James Gingrich a 1 star rating. I was the driver of the truck that this 'friend' was my passenger. Well, my insurance company didn't really have my back and the other drivers insurance was just lame. So I called my longtime friend Attorney Micheal Erpino at Chico Lawyers and he referred me to Attorney James Gingrich. We talked and James went to bat for me. It took a little time - probably because he had to deal with my passenger. But I ended up with a settlement that was more than I expected. I'm giving James Gingrich 5 stars. He's a good person and he keeps it real. If I ever get into another situation, I'm calling James. So please disregard my passenger 'friend' 1 star rating. She's a crybaby, exaggerates, and is not really a people person. 5 solid stars, James.

Was the passenger in a friend's vehicle and we got into an accident so I needed a lawyer but had contacted a few just for them to tell me that I didn't really have a case. My friend called Chico Lawyers Group and got James who said he'd help my friend and asked iif there was anyone else in the accident. My friend told him yeah and gave James my number. So he contacted me and told me right off the bat that he could for sure at least get me the $10,000 uninsured motorist money from my friends insurance. Well I went to the doc and they sent me to physical therapy for an injury to my neck and back but apparently I didn't get enough treatment because the nect time that we spoke, James and myself, he told me that if I didn't go back to the doctor and get more treatment he couldn't help me after all and that without more treatment my case was now a waste of his time and not worth the effort! So I guess he just straight up lied to me in our first conversation. He only wants to help me if I do a a bunch of extra stuff so he'll get a better pay day not me. He's only worried about me insofar as I bring him medical bills. So even though I got injured it wasn't injured enough in his opinion. He also tried to get my friend to go see his personal chiropractortio ratchet up his claim when my friend basically had no injuries at all just needed he truck replaced which still hasn't happened 9 months later! And the other insurance company admitted fault so there shouldn't be any type of delay in them responding to offers but still nothing! Like I said he's a total joke!!! Gp somewhere else, run!!!!! He's not gonna help you unless it's a guaranteed big payout. Otherwise he'll tell you that you're a waste of his time!!! Super good customer service skills for sure, NOT!!!!

I recently found myself in a situation where I needed some legal help and guidance. I called around to several law offices in Chico. Each office I called immediately put me on hold and each time I began to explain my situation would interrupt me and place me on hold. When I finally did get to speak with an attorney he spent more time interrupting and trying to impress me with his intellectual prowess than listen to me.
I saw the big billboard on The Esplanade for Chico Lawyers and decided to try them. SO glad I did! From the moment Joanne answered the phone she was respectful, courteous and listened to what I said and needed. She then connected me with James Gingrich the attorney she felt would best fit my particular situation. I had a conversation with James. He was very respectful, asked pertinent questions and then set a time to meet with me face to face.
When I arrived for my appointment with James he was ready and prepared – having done some preliminary research based on our initial conversation. I was able to go into more detail as to what I felt I needed and he was able to provide the legal bases, opinion and merits of my case. He had even spoken to one of the other attorneys in their office to get a second opinion. He laid out a very clear plan and how he could assist me. He quoted me a flat fee and what type of legal services he would provide for that fee. It was an extremely reasonable fee. From the beginning to conclusion of my case James preformed exactly as he had promised and in my opinion even went beyond. I never once felt he was trying to “nickle and dime” me and increase his fees. In fact I even paid him extra because he provided a few extra services outside the prevue of our original agreement and never even ask for additional fees.
I told James that while I hope to never have to engage his services again if I ever do – he is my guy.
I am telling ALL my family and friends that if you need any type of legal services – Better Get Gingrich!

I has assumed my daughter would get advice and assurance when we hired Ron it’s seems these days he so busy he can barely return phone calls or emails. Have had two appointments by phone both of which I had to call because he apparently was running late. My daughter has been left without communication and a timeline we have spend our retainer and nothing has been finalized and have no direction as to how this might end. Frustrated and sorry my daughter retained Ron when he is so busy with his other cases. We hired him expecting advice assurance and resolution. Still waiting in limbo. He’s a nice man and other reviews appreciate his skills . I had hope for similar experiences.

Ron Marquez was assign by the court to be the Child's Advocate Attorney for my 2 pre-teen kids. This was a heavily litigated case over the past 2.5 years. Ron barley glanced at the court files and spent less than 20 minutes with my children.
On the date of the trial Ron was reprimanded multiple times by the judge for not knowing the details of the case. Ron simply wanted to maintain a 50/50 custody timeshare. Ron made no attempt to represent the wants or needs of the children he was hired to advocate for.
At the end of the trial the judge relieved him of his duties involving the case.
I have seen many child custody cases of the years and Ron was the least prepared and knowledgeable lawyer I have seen to date. He was unconcerned for the wants and needs of the children he was suppose to represent.

Mr. Marquez seemed to have the right things to say but it was obvious that he takes the short road to end a case. Frivolous meetings, expensive email and phone charges and change of venue at court time make it very expensive and fruitless. He did not support the case when it was court time, manipulating his client with nonsense and pressuring his client to settle in the opposing clients agenda. Attempts to talk to his boss or anyone in his office was impossible, no return calls or emails to resolve this issue. He also has a pending issue with the CA State Bar that he did not disclose.

She owes me $950 dollars since August 2021. I had gave her that money for a private "investigator" that was not able to do his job due to covid. Everytime I called her office since August of 2021 they never picked up or when they did the assistance would say Stephana was in court but that she would leave her a message with my number. One star is to many !! She got me for $1,000 nine months ago and about 20 calls later 15 emails and 30 texts she keeps telling me she's going to refund me my retainer after failing to show up at a court hearing but she never does what she says she's going to do. I contacted my bank and they said it sound like a fraudulent transaction because she insisted that I pay her through cash app and not with a credit card.
Watch out for this one folks she's a doozy

I used Mrs. Henderson for my divorce mediation. From the get-go, I could see she favored my ex, which in mediation isn't good. She did not do a good job. I feel I lost a lot financially in the divorce and did most of the work for myself. In the end, when I had questions, she was rude and not helpful. I never felt fully informed and wish I hadn't stuck with her for mediation.

HER BOSS TOOK OVER. ART AZEVEDO. HE NEVER STOOD A CHANCE BECAUSE OF THE DAMAGE THIS WOMAN HAD DONE TO MY CASE. I THEN FIRED HIM. WHEN I SIGNED INTO MY CASE IN POR PER I WOULD THEN HIRE 3 ATTORNEYS WHO WOULD SHAKE MY HAND OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT AND THEY WOULD NEVER BECOME MY ATTORNEY. SIMPLY BECAUSE A JUDGE NAMED BERTRAM COHEN WOULD MEET THEM BEHIND CLOSED DOORS AND I WOULD LOSE EVERYTHING. INCLUDING MY RIGHT TO FILE SUITS. LIKE BERTRAM COHEN SAID TO ME 15 TIMES IF HE SAID IT ONCE "YOUR NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING, YOUR RIGHTS ARE BEING PROTECTED AND YOUR NOT DOING ANYTHING." When I was interviewing lawyers, they asked me who the opposing council was for my divorce, and I told them Les Hait, more than one said, "let me tell you what is going to happen with Les Hait. He will drag things out for as long as possible until all of the money is gone or until his client threatens to fire him". And sure enough he dragged out the divorce for over 3 years. When we finally settled with the Judge in conference, the judge said he was appalled to see how much had been spent on legal fees. He told me that he has seen doctors who did not spend that much on legal fees.
Everyone I have spoken to that knows of Les Hait, knows that he has this reputation, but it seems like Les has taken acting lessons because he is so good at pulling the wool over the eyes of his client to make them think he is helping them. But in my case, literally every document they filed with the court had claims or statements which they KNEW were lies. Any crazy thing my ex would say, he would just type it up and file it even though they knew it was false, like claiming values in an account were much higher than the true amount - which was on the account statement we both had copies of.
He seems like a nice man when you meet him, but but if you want a lawyer who will help you get your situation resolved in a fair and reasonable way, go anywhere else.

Well lb for me this journey started along time ago. I first TV contacted Mr Ryker to helpme with my divorce in the beginning, he aasked for a $500.00 retaretainer and of course i I gave it to him, however when I wasnt able to come up with more money for him, I did not receive my retainer back. And i spoke with this man for maybe 30mins in total!! However I ended up needing a lawyer again about a year ago and since i no longer live in Chico, and I already have dealt with him that i woild go ahead and give him a try. I've given more money than i had, to the point of taking loans. And I've only actually spoken with him, as in hearing his voice, it's been twice possibly three! And when I call it's got to be at the exact right time because thry dont answer and when they do it's a pain in the ass to get a direct answer from him or his assistant's they say they will call you back,,, yeah right! Anyway keep looking if it's divorce your looking for!
