We had a laughably bad experience with this firm. I would give them a 0 if that was possible. My wife and I had a consultation with attorney Eric Ricker in their Delaware office and it was weirdly tense and confrontational from the start. The 30 minute consultation cost $100 and we outlined our case (seeking guardianship of a minor relative) in excruciating detail, and all he could do was sip water, dramatically run his fingers through his hair, and talk about how strange of a case it is. It's a bit unique, but not on that level. He had never heard of grandparent power of attorney, but I've come to find out it's a common thing. There are forms posted on many court web sites, including the court we're targeting.
He said he would do some research and call us back, but it's been several weeks and we haven't heard back after calling and emailing multiple times. Probably a blessing at this point.
UPDATE: I didn't think the experience with them could get worse but it somehow did. Eric eventually called back, left a voicemail referencing this review, called me by the wrong name, and said he didn't call back sooner because he wrote down the wrong phone number.

I hired April Campbell as my defense attorney based on a referral to appeal an OVI conviction in Fairfield County. Nine mos later, the lower courts decision was affirmed by Ohio Appeals Court - District 5. (I lost my appeal)Accordingly I can attest to the following regarding April Campbell, Esq.
Pros
1. She is a competent defense attorney with experience in appeals court , OVI defense, experience as a former prosecutor, etc.
2. She is somewhat assertive / aggressive in her defense and does a decent job articulating oral arguments. However there is room for improvement in both of these areas.
Cons
3. She is not as responsive as an attorney who has been paid thousands of a dollars should be. 60-70% of the time, I had to email and/or text her 2 or more times, before I received a return call or email. This is coupled with a lack of empathy in that she has yet to return my call and provide a debrief of my case since it’s been finalized … a week ago.
4. As a former prosecutor with appeals experience, I don’t believe she was as forthright about my chances of reversing/winning the case.
As a former prosecutor she should have insight into the relationship between judges and prosecutors. As was revealed in my case,
all judges were literally on the same team with the prosecutor who didn’t address any of the material arguments made by Campbell.. Early on she stated, I had a strong case but she couldn’t guarantee a win. She should have stated, it will take a miracle to reverse or overturn this OVI decision but if it’s worth thousands of dollars to you, I’ll construct some arguments. In sum, I really feel like I’ve been taken for a very expensive ride financially, mentally and emotionally.

April was great in helping me through this whole process. Not only is she knowledgeable and competent in her practice but she also was very caring in how I felt through this whole experience.
I was charged with an OVI and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. She got the OVI reduced to a physical control and the possession charge suppressed.
She did a great job and I would highly recommend her to anyone that needs someone knowledgeable, competent and emotionally supportive. She is well worth every penny spent!

Great experience! We developed a trust and living will with this law firm. From past experiences I knew this process is normally a very long, drawn out one. Wright and Moore asked the right questions via teleconference to prepare ahead of our meeting. On the day of overview and signing we were able to thoroughly review everything. Before the meeting was over we had a signed trust, living will, peace of mind along with the original copies in a professional binder to go along with it. What normally takes 3 weeks, Wright and Moore tackled in 3 hours.

To begin, please believe what you are reading in the reviews. I made the mistake of not following my initial intuition. If possible to give zero stars, I would. I would not recommend Lawrence Law Office to anyone in need of a competent and responsive divorce attorney. My experience was deeply frustrating due to an extreme lack of communication, inconsistent billing practices, and an overall failure to provide proactive legal representation.
Despite multiple attempts to reach out, my calls were rarely returned. Meetings never took place in person, and the only service provided was reacting to the opposing party’s filings—never creating or submitting anything on my behalf. Additionally, the firm relied on improper templates rather than crafting case-specific documents.
Billing practices were also highly questionable. I was charged $450 per hour, with a minimum 15-minute charge just for reading an email. Given the lack of original work done on my case, these charges felt excessive and unjustified.
If you are looking for an attorney who will actively advocate for you, communicate clearly, and provide value for their fees, I strongly suggest seeking representation elsewhere.

The person I spoke with who sets up new clients stated they will not talk to me without me paying a retainer. I simply wanted to talk to Linda Lawrence about hiring her to be my attorney. I got the runaround from her handler. Her handler made excuses such as I need to get the divorce court date my wife scheduled to be a different date and then call them back.
Absurb. Do not recommend. Fire this handler!

This lawyer charges a flat fee. He gets paid every so many months. Weather he does any work or not. I used him in my divorce case until I had to let him go. We agreed verbally in court on a divorce agreement. After six months of this lawyer putting minimal effort into getting this matter settled. I ran out of money and had to go to court myself.

Jack was my Divorce attorney for my Newark Ohio case. Jack did a outstanding job for me to ensure my questions were answered and exceeded my expectations. He got the case done much sooner than I thought. He was informational. He was personal and friendly. He made a difficult situation smoother and more clear for me. I was a client of this attorney. He was always about the money and failed to follow up most issues with my case. He would call every Monday to update me on my case and then charge me significant amounts of money to do so. He actually charged me $140 to say "I am still working on it." He actually used comments he attributed to me on his website. Of course he made them positive which, obviously, isn't how I feel. Comments I never made

Mr. Warnock is an outstanding attorney! My husband and I hired Mr. Warnock to represent us in a custody trial for our nieces & nephew. Not only would I not chose this lawyer to represent me, but I would be cautious of his ethics, he may tell you he wants the best for you and your family, but believe me he does not; he was involved with my case and as soon as he got tired of the process he started bailing out. ( he'll tell you to not pay a mortgage and let your spouse go down in flames rather than hold up what the court orders them to do )

Exorbitant cost for a lawyer that wasn’t honest with the reality of results. I guess it was business as usual. The laws are criminal. I guess because lawyers make up the laws. Details I guess don’t matter. It’s a shame that people hire lawyers and the other party has to hire them to defend themselves. What a waste of money. Figures most lawyers are on the left. They’re so tied into the government and are brainwashed. Hire a cheaper lawyer who is more honest!

I would have recommended Jim prior to last year because he was very helpful with my will and my trust. But I tried to contact him last year numerous times and he didn’t answer nor did he call me back. Frankly I suspected he had passed away; and am still not sure that he hadn’t. We moved to Florida three years ago and needed to update everything. Since we couldn’t contact him we are now working with a more reliable attorney in the Tampa area. He was the second attorney in the central Ohio area who I trusted and let me down. I need an attorney who my heirs can contact when necessary upon my passing.

I had gotten Scott anointed to me from municpail court in Delaware county, and he was great. He gave me the best advice and gave me the best options on what to do with my case. As I wasn’t happy at first and completely ignored and treated him truly bad months later he got appointed to my same case and even though I treated him poorly he was very professional and took my case again as I apologized and he still fought and stood by what he said he would do and get the best deal for me for which he absolutely did 100% stuck to his word. I paid my retainer fee up front. He came off as very promising and after he got his money did virtually nothing!! I could have done a better job representing myself. He either didn't respond to emails and phone calls or took weeks to get back and still didn't answer questions. He did not even try to represent me in the court room. My suggestion is run far away from this guy and find a real lawyer!

I called, Manos, Martin, Pergram & Dietz Co LPA, to discuss my case with one of their attorneys and decided to let them take my case. I paid the retainer fee they asked for upfront and I was told that I would be notified if it ever went above the retainer amount I paid. I was never called or emailed saying it was going to be over and then after the case was settled, I receive a bill stating that I owe a lot more on top of the amount I already paid them. I told them I was unhappy with the way they were trying to get more money out of me after the case was over. I would definitely not have settled for the amount I did if I knew they were going to ask me to pay so much more at the end when those additional fees were never discussed with me as they stated they would when I retained them as counsel.
While I did receive a little amount of money from what I was suing for, it was even worse when they requested I pay more after I was advised to take a smaller settlement than I had wanted to. While they seem like competent lawyers, if you decide to use them, ask how they bill upfront. Don't be blindsided like I was and have to pay for additional fees that were never discussed verbally as they promised they would.

I was completely innocent and had all the proof. A week before my court date, I told him I wanted to go to trial, and he persuaded me to change my mind. And guess where I ended up in jail because of it. He pushed me to plead guilty so it would show that I was remorseful. Mind you this was for phone harassment where I never harassed them. He said things like well you still have till Monday to change your mind and I only would have the weekend to prepare. He didn’t defend me at all. It was more like he was on the prosecutors side.

Piss poor representation. I hired this guy to represent me on a DUI for $7000. He assured me that if I plead Guilty/No Contest, I would receive the minimum sentencing guidelines. On my court date, he showed up in a mask and assured me of minimum sentencing. Behind the scenes, when I asked him about the driver's license suspension, he looked at me and talked down to me literally like I was a piece of garbage and assured me that he had negotiated minimum sentencing and basically told me to plead guilty/no contest. I listened to his advice against my better judgement and was sentenced to the maximum license suspension of 3 years. I basically paid this guy over double the going rate for my charges to represent me, and I regret hiring him. I would not recommend hiring Rick Reeder based on my experience, and financial loss. Despicable!
