Royce was by far the best attorney I've had the pleasure of hiring. He is very knowledgable and took the time to hear my case. I had a speeding ticket and a driving without a license charge, which was criminal. When he showed up to court, ALL of my tickets were dismissed!!! I have never been so pleased with an attorney! His rate was great and I would most definitely hire him again!

I have numerous concerns to address, but I'm uncertain where to commence. I was a client of Attorney Daniel Ifill, who unfortunately, compromised my trust. His unprofessional and inattentive handling of my divorce case led to unnecessary complications, including a near-contempt charge for failing to submit critical documents requested by the Judge. Initially, I sought his expertise during a vulnerable period, struggling with depression, and was drawn to his firm through online research and positive reviews. However, his representation proved ineffective, prioritizing financial gain over meaningful progress, prompting me to terminate our professional relationship. I regret engaging Mr. Daniel's services due to several concerns. Firstly, I provided him with financial support to ensure my case received optimal representation and guidance. However, his primary interest seemed to be financial gain rather than facilitating a smooth legal process. Furthermore, he failed to maintain adequate communication, neglecting to update me on the judge's requests, case developments, and potential outcomes. His contact was typically limited to requests for additional payment. As a senior citizen and diligent worker, I struggled financially, working over 100 hours per month to meet my obligations, including Mr. Daniel's fees. Despite my economic hardship, his lack of effort yielded no results and nearly led to my arrest due to unsubmitted documents. My financial obligations to Mr. Daniel led to delinquency on bills and mortgage payments. After an extended work stretch and severe health issues, I requested Mr. Daniel consider revising our payment arrangement, factoring in my compromised health and substantial payments already made. He stated that his response would be to discontinue handling my case and withhold my original critical documents related to my assets until I fulfilled his financial demands. Regrettably, I continue to be without my critical original documents and have borne substantial financial losses, with no resolution, resulting in the need to engage the services of another divorce lawyer at additional expense. Prospective clients of divorce attorneys should undertake diligent research before making a hiring decision to guarantee their case receives optimal handling. When seeking legal representation, exercise diligence to avoid financial mismanagement and subpar service. My experience was underwhelming, marked by perceived dishonesty and financial exploitation, resulting in a zero-star assessment. I advise others navigating divorce to proceed with caution.

He was in constant contact with us and was so compassionate and listened to all of our needs. I cannot possibly thank him enough!! I highly recommend him if you want to win your child custody case, he is by far the best attorney out there. Thank you for all you did, you are a miracle worker!

AVOID! This guy got mad at me over baseball cards! He didn't like that I ran a story about a friend of his who was accused of scamming. Daniel claimed he was going to sue anyone who came forward with information. In messages, Daniel then inquired where I lived and asked me about my personal life. He's probably too busy with trading card drama to take care of you in a meaningful way! Seek other council if at all possible. Some of his 5 star google reviews were written by fellow sports card dealers, so I imagine those are fake.

Very pleased with the outcome of my divorce. I had tried for close to 3 years to get divorced. My case was a difficult case and I was getting very low on funds to keep fighting it. Daniel took my case on and sped up the entire process for me. Daniel is very personal, he does not sugar coat anything, he says it as it is. He truly helped me toughen up again at my weakest point in my life. If you need an attorney Daniel is your guy.

Ms. Flowers handled my divorce. My ex-husband and myself thought that it would be in our best interest to retain two separate lawyers. After meeting with Ms. Flowers we were both so impressed with her knowledge of the law and her ability to explain the facts we decided to proceed with the process using Ms. Flowers only. Once you take the emotional factor out of the divorce process, which is difficult to do, the law is the law. Mr. Flowers explained what each of us were entitled to and helped us come to terms with many difficult decisions, including our child custody agreement. We could call her day or night and on weekends if need be. She was responsive, and truly seemed to have our best interest at heart. She was not only professional, but had compassion for us and our situation. I had friends that were in and out of court for over a year incurring thousands of dollars worth of "billable hours". My divorce took less than three months to finalize. I will forever be grateful to Ms. Flowers for making a very sad situation a little easier!!!!!! If anyone is in need of an excellent divorce attorney I would highly recommend Cheryl B. Flowers.

I had been with a debt relief program that was working but stretching my ability to pay when, out of the blue, I was contacted by people working for Mr. Herman. They offered to repair and restore credit at about half the price of the debt relief program so I stupidly jumped for it. Mr. Herman's program was a total of about $18,000. About half way through the period with little sign of progress I had a phone call with him where he admitted that the laws had changed (about a year prior to him telling me) and he could no longer employ legal maneuvers he had been successfully using to clean-up credit. I was horrified as I'd already paid a lot out to his firm. A few months later I was informed that the State of Florida had suspended his license. In his absence, another lawyer became involved and - against my wishes - settled a case costing me the rest of the money that I had. I could no longer pay his firm so I was dumped as a client left to fend the credit wolves for myself. This guy is a slick talker and spins. You'll note that he never admits to any degree of fault with any of the other reviews here that cast a shadow on him.

We hired this law firm to help get my father on medicaid benefits and some help from the veterans and do a trust and other legal estate planning for my mother. We were with a different lawyer before this lawyer in the same firm. That lawyer blew us off and I would not rate her positively, but then we got this young lady, who my mother and father liked and felt comfortable meeting. She was real personable and patient. I feel that this lawyer went out of her way to explain things in a way my mother and father could understand and took pains not to make them feel rushed. I feel that the lawyer was expensive, but you get what you pay for, and I feel that we got real concierge level lawyer service. She always was good about answering our questions, even when she had to get back to us with the answers. She did all new legal documents for my mother and father and talked us through the bank and their issues.

This lawyer was assigned my fathers Medicaid case by the senior partner. She helped us get him on Medicaid and recommended people to help me find him a nursing home. I live in New York so I call and email a lot. She answered my question and treated my father with respect. She always answered my emails too. I had a situation where my father needed Medicaid right away--she and her assistant did it in a month. The DCF took a long time to handle my fathers case, and she spoke to the home to make sure he didn't get evicted and found me a lady to check on him and report to me. I can tell it's a busy office there but as a professional myself I am satisfied.

I was in an automobile accident a few years ago and I was extremely pleased with the service I received from Metnick Levy & Dyson's law firm. The staff was phenomenal and the attorneys were great! I was kept abreast of any new updates throughout my case. I never felt like the office didn't care about my case. Mr. Dyson was honest with me from the time my file was transferred to him. He would ask me if I had any questions or concerns regarding my case. My calls were always answered or returned in a timely manner. Mr. Dyson took the time to listen and answer my questions. Also, I was always contacted anytime defense counsel presented an offer. My case settled and I was pleased with the settlement. He is a highly competent attorney and I would seek the services of his firm again. I couldn't have chosen a better law firm!

Mr. Dyson represented me and was a horrible attorney. He was verbally abusive toward me, lied and boasted he would get me a large settlement but did not. He blamed it on me saying my case wasn’t any good after representing me for more than 2 years. He sent me to doctors that inflated my costs and were a joke. He made me pay for a mediation to sit for hours to get the same same settlement I did. I basically paid for him to have lunch. He added extra costs to a case that he took willingly which he thought was no good. Further his fees were more than what I received for my settlement. There are many other honest attorneys to hire that aren’t just out for money and treat people like this. I am more upset that I was lied to and treated poorly than my settlement.

If I could rate a negative 0 I would. Mr. Casio represented my Ex. In our divorce. He knew my signature was fraudulent in the listing of the sell of my home. Even knowing this he still allowed a fraudulent contract to submitted for the sell of my home. Due to the home being in foreclosure I ended up being forced to agree to the sell. The divorce judge advised that my and my ex husband's proceeds be held for when we return to court.. Well now we can't return to court until Mr. Casio releases the funds. My home sold in May the mortgage has been paid (the only positive thing he has done) and he refuses to provide he information needed to finalize our divorce and release our funds. Again the home sold in May I and my ex husband have called multiple times to no returned calls. To google showing temporary closed then suddenly after I posted my review to Google his business is no longer temporarily closed. GIVE US OUR MONEY & MY DIVORCE MR. CASIO!

The lawyers at this firm are a disgrace to the practice of law. They prey on the vulnerable and those people that are especially in need of legal help. One of the posts indicates exactly what happened which is they changed lawyers on the case but they do it so that they can bill more hours so they take a bigger cut of the settlement. They keep giving you the runaround when the case is finally settled only to learn is they are increasing there portion with every passing billable hour. The various depts such as the reductions dept.is there to simply deflect and be the middleman in between you and the lawyer. They are a bunch of crooks in suits, especially Mr. Kanner because from the beginning he was very pleasant but that's just an act to get you to sign the contract than its a no show no callback and the shuffle game starts. They indicated one amount after there 40% cut but they know you need money so they get a predatory lender that they work with (I'm sure they get a kickback) to lend you money at a substantial intrest rate and what they say is that out of the settlement they will pay those that are owed what they don't say is that they are receiving favorable reductions that they themselves do not pass along to the victim but instead pocket the difference in trumped up charges. All the while they pressure you to get more and more surgeries so that they can bill more and claim more but all there are really doing is increasing there CUT! Please DO NOT use these lawyers they are not the people you want looking after your best interest, all they want is money. My mother is the unfortunate victim of this alleged wrongdoing but I have been with her for the extent of the suit, 3 years it took for the settlement and then came the excuses as to why she hasn't received her portion of the settlement which has been reduced to less than 20% of what was settled for with Coca Cola. She was urged to take another loan even though the firm received the funds from Coca Cola over 4 months ago. There just very unethical and untrustworthy. Please don't hire any of these lawyers from this firm you will regret it for the rest of your life.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
