A true coward in more ways than one.
A couple of years ago I hired Mr. Rago to take on a bogus harassement case. Paid $1500.00 for his services at the time. Never spoke with him, only his investigator. The investigator was excellent. However Mr Rago never had any contact with me directly or I with him. I seemed to be designed that way on purpose by this office. I was told case would be dismissed based on what was presented in the complaint.
However pre-trial court dates would come and go and I would not receive notifications from him or his staff that they were coming up. I was the one that would log in repeatedly to the system to find out that my dates were approaching. Otherwise I would have missed them. Sometimes I would get a call a few minutes before the hearing was to start.
Every time I would call for updates or progress, no response or no results provided. If it wasn't for me inquiring I would have no information. On his contract or agreement that you sign upon hiring him, there is a clause that states that if you make repeated inquiries to his office, there is a fee that may be assessed to you. It appears that returning calls, or progress updates are not priority and that if you keep asking why they are not responding, their response could be a fee to you.
Long story short, THE THINGS I WAS TOLD WOULD HAPPEN DID NOT. I was also told to pay fees for subpoenas. I paid and was told they filed it to the wrong company and that I would have to pay again for them to send it to the right people. I insisted the fault was not mine and they claimed they filed it to the right place later on. However, there was no documentation for the results of the supposed 2nd subpoena.
I had to take it upon myself to negotiate on my own when I was ultimately told by Mr Ragos office that if I wanted them to truly give me the results I was promised from the beginning, I would have to pay $4000.00 more or I could pick another attorney.
I chose not to pursue the matter further since HIS SERVICES WERE DISMAL. I agreed to some courses and more fees to simply get this nonsense over with. I negotiated some courses off on my own without his help since he ignored my request to do so.
A final note, on the last court date my case was being presided by a different judge than the one I had been assigned. When I put up a counter argument based on what I was told to me by the original judge, the prosecuting attorney raised his voice and threatened Mr. Rago by telling him he would "the deal" if I kept insisting on what the original judge advised me directly. Mr Rago instead of standing up and fighting for me , his client, he told me the "back and forth" was nonsense and to accept. HE WAS A TRUE COWARD. Don't know if he currently is.
My opinion is that it was a waste of my time and more importantly my money for something I could have done with a public defender on my own. Again all of this is my opinion.

Clark hermanson was recommened to me about 2 years ago when i was hit by a drunk driver.
My first car accident so didnt really know what to expect with the whole lawyer thing.
Just knew my car was totaled and i suffered some minor injuries thank god.
So i saw clark he took my case he was straight forward on what can happen.
Hes firm was also helpful during the case like hes asistant Rosy im assuming hes right hand.
Never kept me in the dark,kept me updated on whats to come n so forth.
They got me my money within a year which was pretty fast to me n it also came in at the right time i needed it haa.
I thought i got a fair amount and if i was ever in another one he would be the one i would go too.
So thank you to the Harmonson firm.

Overwhelmed by the possible financial burden of our mother going into nursing care in El Paso, we reached out to her firm for help. Once they figured out we needed assistance with Medicaid, they suggested we go right to their resident specialist on Medicaid. This is who you need to hire to safeguard your assets to the extent possible, and just as importantly, handle your Medicaid application for you. She submitted our application with extensive backup documentation, quoted all the Medicaid rules/codes with exhibits to support everything which could be scrutinized, and did her best to leave no questions unanswered by caseworkers reviewing the application. She also has relationships with many of the Medicaid attorneys, enabling her to cut through trickier red tape more quickly. I knew she was the right person to hire after the social worker at mom's nursing home realized we hired counsel to handle her Medicaid case and she said, "Ohhhh! You hired Jen Coulter???? No worries. You will get it approved!!!"
Jen provides very thorough explanations, and offers up alternate contingency plans so you know what could come up, and what plan B would be if that would happen.
She responds promptly, and her Legal Assistant Estella is extremely knowledgeable and prompt.
I don't know how we could have handled these stressful family matters without Jen's assistance.

She is well versed on Elder Law and goes out of her way to help the family. She was able to obtain the best care and benefits possible for our mother who is handicapped. I don’t recall who I did the initial meeting with, but it was very professional and I couldn’t beat the price. I believe this was the most reasonable pricing for anything that I have needed legal service for in El Paso. I will say initially, I felt as though communication was “far and in between” and I am a person who prefers frequent communication. What helped with me was emailing them both and they would respond to me in a timely manner to my questions. Any questions I had they were both able to answer, and though at times I thought I may have known best Wes would come to me with great reasoning. In the end, it all worked out in my favor. Thank you.
I will add:: We do have to remember that the legal system goes at its own pace and as much as we want things to speed along, the ones who represent us can only do so much in that regard; they are also at the “mercy” of the courts.

have never had to have an attorney before, but was very upset after the long-term disability insurance I paid the max on every year just in case of exactly what happened with my health, denied me. Marc Whitehead’s office has worked tirelessly for 4 years so far with me. There is no way I could have gotten anywhere on my own with the long-term disability company, which is a shame, and I feel for anybody who needs it.

They won't answer even the most basic questions unless you pay for a consultation. So I made an appointment for a consultation at 3:30, even though they refused to tell me if they can actually help me with my case. I show up 10 minutes early and pay $100 for a 30 minute consultation. The receptionist informs me that the attorney has stepped out and should be there shortly, so I sat down to wait. At 3:37 the receptionist tells me that my consultation has started as of 3:30 because she has another appointment at 4, even though the attorney is not there yet. I said no and I asked for my money back. They wanted me to pay for a 30 minute consultation but only give me 20 or maybe 15 minutes. I think that's just a very shady business practice by some money hungry attorney, and it shows a total lack of professionalism. I left and contacted a different firm which answered several of my questions over the phone and made me feel comfortable with hiring them

They won't answer even the most basic questions unless you pay for a consultation. So I made an appointment for a consultation at 3:30, even though they refused to tell me if they can actually help me with my case. I show up 10 minutes early and pay $100 for a 30 minute consultation. The receptionist informs me that the attorney has stepped out and should be there shortly, so I sat down to wait. At 3:37 the receptionist tells me that my consultation has started as of 3:30 because she has another appointment at 4, even though the attorney is not there yet. I said no and I asked for my money back. They wanted me to pay for a 30 minute consultation but only give me 20 or maybe 15 minutes. I think that's just a very shady business practice by some money hungry attorney, and it shows a total lack of professionalism. I left and contacted a different firm which answered several of my questions over the phone and made me feel comfortable with hiring them
