I had left Atlantic Health after being an employed physician. I was named in a Medical malpractice case for care that occurred when I was an Atlantic Health employee. I decided to ask for my own attorney, which was my right. Mr Brown “represented” me in a malpractice case, but it really seemed as though he was really representing Atlantic Health (co-defendant) not me. He often represents Atlantic Health, and in retrospect I think he cared more about preserving that relationship than acting in my best interests. I could have paid for my own independent lawyer, but Mr Brown talked me out of that. Another doctor gave a deposition in the case, and I never received a copy of the deposition. Mr Brown did not make every effort to secure an expert to defend me. He did not follow through on all of the leads I gave him for experts, and he never even sent my records to an expert for a formal review. Instead he got a “sidewalk consult” from an expert who apparently told mr brown that the case wasn’t defendable. I have no way to verify that. When the time came for my deposition, Atlantic decided to settle rather than allow me to defend myself. In retrospect, I wish I had paid for my own independent lawyer. I think Mr Brown was conflicted- and that he never really represented me. He responded with hostility when I tried to push for my own deposition, and when I tried to get him to formally hire an expert to defend me (presumably because doing so would have cost Atlantic $) If you have a choice, don’t pick this lawyer

The firm I worked for hired her to do my Permanent Labor Certification process as part of my Green Card application process. A prevailing wage determination was done with the Dept of Labor and determined that for the job, the expected annual salary was around $75000. The salary structure with my company at the time was $70000 as base salary plus monthly and year end bonus and ends up being more than $75000 annually. When she prepared and submitted my application, she enters only the base salary of $70000 which is less than the $75000. The Department of Labor denied my Permanent Labor Certification on that grounds. A competent lawyer should have brought this information to the attention of my employer or me. Instead she completely messes my application. If she had brought it to the attention of my employer, my employer would have been happy to re-do my pay structure and ensure that I am well within the requirements of the prevalent wage determination. In addition, in my interactions with other her with regards to my H1B visa applications, I have found that she is one of those lawyers who can only handle the most common situations in an immigration process. She doesn't have the tenacity to handle complex immigration processes and know how to sidestep any landmines that might come along during an immigration processes. I know she handles other areas of law besides immigration. I cannot speak on whether she is competent in other areas. But definitely do NOT hire her as your immigration attorney.
