I recommend Mr. Lindh and here is why: From the beginning, Mr. Lindh made my case a priority and maneuvered in such a way that it instilled within me a deep confidence in him that lasted throughout the entirety of our case. On day one we took a deep dive into my case and he impressed upon me wisdom and advice that make obvious not just his years of expertise, but how much he cares. I felt heard, and because of that was able to effectively communicate my position without feeling railroaded. He supported my positions and made himself available to all my questions and concerns through not just phone calls, but email, and text messages too. I truly felt he had my back through a difficult legal matter and am thankful to have had him on my side.

Our company had viable claims of defaulted contract non-payments by customers. Cases were passed to him by another attorney who became medically ill. He signed on and then withdrew shortly after without even representing us. This is a horrible practice by someone we thought would be reputable. Very disappointed in this man.

Attorney Roland Lind was an excellent choice for our College son, he was able to negotiate a fair and reasonable outcome as well as impressing upon him the value in making smart decisions in the future, he treated us very fair on the billing and quickly returned the. Balance to us which in its self was impressive, we can't say enough positives about Mr. Lind and highly recommend him

She seems nice and knows the talk and walk; but she does slip and slid with the truth. Just beware if you make an agreement in mediation with her, because in front of the judge she changes what was agreed upon. I think this is her way. So, if she is your attorney and you don't mind her moving this way, she's good to hire.

During one free consultation, Mr Cox convince me to hire him. He gave me so much confidence that my case is a win in front of the judge without any doubt. I wished I had done more research on selecting a divorce attorney. My divorce was in 2022-2023 out of state where divorce was filed. Examples: 1. Mr. Cox was booked in two hearings, in the middle of the court zoom, he left the meeting, another attorney came and said, Mr Cox had to leave for another hearing he was scheduled. My hearing ended. 2. Poor employees retention. Within 4-5 months, I worked with three paralegals and each time I had to resend my documents to them all over. 3. Scheduling a meeting with Mr. Cox specifically before a hearing was challenging. He was late to our meeting and unprepared. Each time, I had to explain my divorce case to him once again. He was always on rushed to his next meeting. 4. In several incidents, the paralegal made an error on my documents. I contacted the paralegal to correct the error. However, I was charged once for the documents sent to me, second time for receiving corrected documents. Bill statement indicated “document corrected-resent”. It didn’t specify, paralegal made the error. 5. In spite of my repetitive requests, my ex wife’s bank subpoena never arrived by the divorce mediation hearing. There was plenty of time to receive it on time. It had impact on my financial commitments to my ex wife. My mediation hearing was a failure. 6. I learned more about divorce mediation online than my lawyer. 7. In one hearing that he told me he represents me without my presence the day before, I received a call at 6:30 AM-PT while driving to work. Mr Cox on the phone asking me where are you? why don’t you join the hearing? Nervously, I pulled over to join the zoom hearing while having issues with WiFi connection. Best wishes!

When I met John I thought he seemed like he was going to fight for my case. I had to repeat myself every time we met. John was not very quick in returning my phone calls and emails, sometimes I never got a response to my questions. There was something he advised me against in the beginning and the case was prolonged and I ended up having to do the thing he advised me against anyway. If I would have done it when I asked about it my case might have been settled sooner.

I've used Sracy in the past to be the Representative, in Settling an Estate matter after my Mother Inlaws passing. My husband knew Ms. Vandyken thru his employment because they would run into one another there for many years. We both owned English Bulldogs also at the time and became what we would consider Friends. She worked Hard,Honestly,Aggressively, and Attentively. She allowed us to focus on the Mourning and Healing Process from my Mother Inlaws passing. She made us feel that we had our own "St Michael", that stood for us in battle. Stood "FOR Us", not just "Beside us." Her One on One Phone calls always Made us feel that our case was Important to her, also. We loved her and we couldn't Thank her, enough!. I think when you find and pay for the right Representation. That person that you've put your Trust, Life, and Furture in their hands. You build a Relationship with them. One of which you can reach out to Directly. . At Least every couple of weeks for any updates, answer for new questions you may have, Or to just Call and see how your doing thru the difficult and stressful process of things? Stacy Did that. If not, we could always call and leave a message with her staff. And recieve a phone call back from her. She was Truly, a Blessing to us in such a Difficult time. We are truly Blessed. Unfortunately , at this time our Daughter, whom she met many years ago at age 16,Has now had to hire Stacy for her Own, Legal counsel. She was in need of an Aggressive,Strong, Attentive Attorney. One that will Stand Up For,and Protect her and her Children's best interests, She'll be the one to stand " with Her", in Every Court appearance herself. Not an Associate. One who we Know, will Fight just as hard for her, as she did for us. Stacy's an attorney who will Communicate "Directly" with her every couple of week to update her, and to guide her thru all of the zigs and zags there are with a Divorce with small children. We have hired Stacy for a 2nd time and it was not only all of the reasons that I listed above, but because Stacy IS one who will not back down from apposing attorneys, will object when it's warrented, Stacy Vandykem will Fight for, Her. And the future of our Grandchildrens. Being in an Abusive Marriage for years was tough enough for our daughter, standing up in a courtroom, is Petrafieying to her. Knowing that Stacy Herself, will stand Beside her in a court room, and will be Fighting for our daughter, her best interests, and an attorney who is not Afraid. Our children,no matter if now young adults. Need Guidance at times. And I know that guiding ours to Stacy Vandyken, is Exactly the Women she needs right now to Fight for her and her children. Knowing Stacy Vandyken will be in the courtroom, truly brings us, 'Peace"

You may as well represent yourself. Stacy threatened to withdraw as my attorney if I didn't do things her way. She talks a big game but always backed down from the opposing parties attorney. She will not fight for you because "she already knows what the court is going to say". It seems like all I paid her for was to talk tough, back down and forward emails.

She seems to be very diligent at first. Then she drags things into endless activities like counseling, mediation, and delays actually producing results. My family has been negatively impacted by what she claim we MUST do to repair it to a degree. The effect has been the opposite. Two years after a nasty divorce process, we were still were not able to resolve matters according to her advice and had no results when trying to tie loose ends financially and custodial. She has caused me to lose almost my entire savings and retirement by following her advice. She recommended not interacting with FOC and leave it all to her which was a big mistake. She charges for what she says she will not charge for and keeps the process going perpetually with no results to her client. She also dropped me as a client when realizing we may not "win" and refused to attend a hearing that really mattered the night before it was scheduled. Bad

Diane handled a custody issue and we were happy with the job therefore we hired her again to help with another custody issue and for reimbursement for medical bills. She took full payment up front and went to 1 hearing and was then supposed to enter an order. Months went by and we heard nothing. I then proceeded to call, multiple times a week leaving messages with her paralegal. I sent a rather strongly worded email after over a month of no response and still got no response. I then got a hold of another attorney and she graciously called Diane to find out what was going on. She stated Diane was busy and embarrassed about not getting back with us and to give her two weeks for her to contact us. Three weeks go by and still no contact so I made one final call and talked to Diane's paralegal and was promised a call that night, as can be expected no call. There was absolutely no excuse to treat a repeat, paying client like this. If she was busy a simple 5 min phone call or email explaining this would have sufficed and we would have been content to wait.

I retained Mr. Pederson to represent me in a fairly simple criminal case and it was the biggest mistake I've ever made. Without going into too much detail, I will just say that this man is all about money and does the bare minimum. He tells you what you want to hear in order to gain your business and then drops the ball and is almost impossible to get in contact with when it really matters. You're better off sticking to a court appointed attorney than to waste your money on Mr. Pederson.

I got my letter of her being my attorney for misuse of 911 two days before the preliminary exam..I called her the morning after I got it, left her a message and didn't get a call back. Which I take as a common issue when you get hit with a bunch of cases some yours and some county appointed. For the only review I see post being bad..I'm gonna have faith in her more than one bad reviews worth..if she got her family law degree in 1984...I only hope her firm has younger staff to keep her up to date on the new changes to her specialty area. The violence against women's act.. federal crime victims rights and hopefully soon victims of corrupt court practices act so we can finally stop keeping judges who break the law on the bench and make them just as accountable as any other person who doesn't folllow. I look forward to Ms. Hines prob your bad review wrong Victoria.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.

Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:

  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
