Jason was an integral part of my personal injury case which was ultimately settled before trial. Jason and the other associates at LaFave, Wein and Frament were able to reach a settlement for my knee injury which was very generous. Thank you for your hard work, Jason.

I had a distal radius fracture in 2013. I generally would not pursue representation, but this time decided to. I was tired of the right thing not being done and having to face grueling consequences. I reached out to the Firm a former high school classmate Partners with. I believe in ethic, and continuity of allegiance. After 3 years of staying on top of this matter, there was minimal Firm involvement. What I wanted was simple, justice. Finality to move on would be beneficial too. The Firm did not involve nor engage, they did one great step though. Turning my case to Lafave Wein and Frament proved finality and resolve in the right direction. They moved matters along, settlement was made, and Jason Frament delivered. Collectively he and Paul Wein did it....and I would highly recommend Jason Frament and Firm to any person who seeks action and finality. They have acted in my best interest 100 percent, along with Anne G. who communicated effectively. Thank you both for laying the groundwork for future representation, if a need arises.

Jason Frament took our personal injury case approximately a year and a half ago. Prior to that it had been with a very well known heavy hitters personal injury firm. They had our case for 3 years and did nothing. We never received 1 piece of correspondence or a phone call. Any attempts to find out how our case was progressing were on our part. Finally we were referred to Mr. Frament and his firm. Our questions were answered and the outcome of our case discussed. Phone calls were always returned. The paralegals were on their toes and were also very helpful in sending communication. Our case was finally settled thanks to Mr. Frament. He works tirelessly and efficiently on his client's behalf. I wouldn't recommend the Heavy Hitters firm we were with. If you want to hit a Home Run, contact Jason Frament. Donna and Dan

I first met Mr. Wein in Spring of 2016 after my worker's compensation lawyer suggested I meet with him to determine if there was a basis for a personal injury lawsuit. At that time no one could prepare me for my 6 year journey with the firm. The amount of time that he took to get to know every aspect of the case, obtain multiple expert witnesses and prepare me for each and every step of the process was invaluable. If I wasn't speaking directly with Mr. Wein, I could always count on Olena Care for the informative emails. After my deposition I thought that the end was in sight, however COVID hit and the courts were shut down, however the work continued by Mr. Wein and the entire practice. In the summer of 2022, after multiple discussions with the opposing parties and Mr. Wein the case was finally set for trial. After a couple of delays the jury trial occurred in December. Mr. Wein prepared me for trial and the approach that he took impressed everyone in the courtroom. He presented multiple expert witnesses and provided testimony that was backed by facts to the court. In the end, we were very grateful for the favorable verdict and appropriate settlement. Although I would never wish anyone to have to go through this I would 100% recommend Mr. Wein to anyone who is in need of a confident, personable and strategic lawyer to prove your case.

Every message I left, whether with a person or voicemail, went unanswered. Every email I sent was left u responded to. When told they were not taking our case, ( after a year of waiting to hear something.... anything) I asked why not and was told ...."because". And then hung up on. Called 2 months ago for an answer and was told someone would call me back....never happened.

Mr. Wein took on our case along with an additional 79 people and managed, with the help of his capable staff, to keep us thoroughly informed throughout the 12 years of pursuing the matter. The case did take a number of years and anytime I called to inquire about progress either he or his legal secretary, Danielle, very graciously took the time to fill us in on the progress. Since the case involved damages due to a construction failure, Mr. Wein secured expert testimony where needed and successfully countered each and every attempt at delay or dismissal by the opposition. In the end, a successful conclusion brought us to a point where we believe appropriate accountability was leveled and where we received appropriate compensation for our losses. We are most grateful to Mr. Paul Wein for his skill and his occasional "hand holding" through this process.

I hired Nicole for a closing. She changed her prices several times, she 1st charged me 650 for closing then charged 830 and did not tell me until the same day of closing. She did not honor original price. I knew something was up because when it came to evictions, she stated she would charge 450 to evict 2 people, then stated 550, then emailed and stated it will be 650 to eviction 1 person. I suggest to anyone that decide to go with her, not only should you get everything in writing but you should if you can record all conversations & save all documentation.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.

  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
