FORST OFF I MET MR.COX AT HIS OFFICE......STARBUCKS YES STARBUCKS HE DOESNT EVEN HAVE AN OFFICE!!!!!!! Mr. Cox Charged us over $3,000 & did absolutely nothing for me in the 2 months I had him (never even attended one hearing, I decided to fire him for not knowing his job what so ever, thank god I didnt go in with him!) He asked for multiple checks from my father (like the previous comments of his ex-clients) one day he would come & ask for a check to be in a certain name then the next he would say write it out to me instead. We let that slide but when I asked him about my case & why it says its my 1st DUI & not my second his game plan was "if they don't say anything neither am i"... it took my new attorney 2 sec to call down the DA to see if I was ARD eligible (which I was not but Ben COX told me several times "ARD is an option as is drug court" DRUG COURT??? Are you freaking kidding me??? Thats for people who caught SERIOUS DRUG CHARGES EX: Crack sale to Police, Heroin Possession, etc.....not a 2nd dui! I could go on all day about his misconduct and lack of knowledge. He's as worth as much as you can throw him....not very far. He broke our confidentiality right away and told several people I know about my alleged charges & told them Im going to jail for 6 months!!!!. My new lawyer got me general impairment at the 1st hearing alone! (Thank god I didn't have Ben CoX there he would buried me) & they offered 45 days...long story short I went and got a HIGH NAME lawyer & ultimately the DUI was dropped. Shout out to the Greeks lets just say that. BUT PLEASE PEOPLE I DONT HAVE THE TIME IN THE DAY DO NOT USE HIM!!! HE DOESNT HAVE AN OFFICE!! HES A JOKE!

I was referred to Mr. Cox through a family member in the beginning of 2013. I explained to him that I had an attorney that just couldn't give my case the time it needed. He agreed to complete the remainder of my case for $2,500. Any thing Mr. Cox says to you make him put it in writing. All this lawyer achieved for me in my case was a over a year of continuances. He did no work in my defense or bringing up evidence on my behalf, which is what an attorney is paid to do. When I asked him details about my case standing or addressed Mr. Cox on his work ethic he became very indignant and used highly unprofessional language toward me. He informed me that charges in my case had been lifted when in fact, they had not, which I did not learn of, until the day of my trial!! He then tried to convince me that the language he and court officials used I wouldn't understand, so it was best not to question him and let him handle my court proceedings. I'm a college student, it may not be in law, still as a client, I know I have a right to be informed about my case. And, as an attorney, this is his job to inform me. After countless attempts to discuss my case in detail with Mr. Cox, a year into my case he called me claiming he was unaware of my plaintiffs injuries. The claim of these injuries was the reason I hired Mr. Cox in the first place. He also tried to tell me that my prior record was the reason I would serve time on this case, which also makes no sense. Record or not, there are facts in my case that need to be presented. Without presenting my case clearly, how are you defending me? And why wont you discuss the facts of my case? All Mr. Cox seemed to want to discuss was money outside of what we agreed on, for work that I had honestly not seen him do. Clearly, my comprehensive ability is not the issue here. Nothing, not one thing I asked this attorney to do did he honor, not even what he agreed on before payment. He refused to document payments after going to my sick grandfathers house and demanding two checks, one for $400 and the other for $700. Mind you, I had already paid Mr. Cox the $2,500 agreed on. Lastly, his courtroom conduct is unprofessional. My cell phone was accidently left on (outside of the courtroom, mind you) and when it rang this gentlemen literally shouted at me. This man made me look like a fool in front of the courts and the DA with his unprofessional conduct and lack of work on my case. The result has been an injustice to me. My family member that referred me is equally disappointed. They had worked in different departments for the state for years although she was unaware of Mr. Cox's negative reputation. Several other attorney's in the area also will give you the same reference of this attorney. I only wish I had thought to google Mr. Cox before hiring him. The other reviews here refer to this attorney as a bully and a salesman and I agree! If you are a woman I especially recommend you find another attorney. This man is a nightmare. I don't understand his rating here as "good" I have been forced to hire a public defender as my third attorney in this case. If I had had the money to hire another attorney sooner, I would have. Not doing so may have ruined my case.

Judicial ethics opinions should be public. Redact names if you must, but advisory opinions on what PA judges should or should not be doing should be public info available to everyone. Your complete lack of transparency does not engender trust in your corrupt court system. Then again, most judges probably will not seek out an opinion, anyway.

The woman clearly can't even take care of herself and make herself presentable yet she's in charge of the welfare of so many children. Hired Attorney Smith for my divorce and custody matter. She talked a good game during my consultation about how quick she gets back to her clients. Once I paid the retainer, I found out that was a lie. She stopped returning my calls and emails. She drug her feet submitting my custody petition, so when she got around to it weeks later, she found out the other party had already filed in a different county so I had to go retain a new attorney in that county. She never returned my emails and calls to follow up and let me know my divorce was final or send me the decree. I found out the divorce was final after it was posted in the newspaper and I had to go to the court house and find out how to get my own copy of the divorce decree.

I find Ms. Staley Ogorman to be highly unprofessional. Her correspondence to the opposing party "hit below the belt", which is acceptable to some clients but it did not work for me. Aside from the fact that the letters were offensive....the grammar and misspellings added another layer of unprofessionalism that was not worth the $250 per hour. I look back on my experience and wish I would have retained a better attorney.

I went to her for representation for a divorce, she sent letters without my approval, never followed up on letters regardless of time sensitivity. I had to follow up every letter, and got billed for reminding her to contact opposing council. Did not respond to emails or billing questions. Billed 2 hours for initial consultation, never stated I would be billed, contract states she does not begin working on case until a retainer is received, when asked about the consultation fee, she stated she bills for all time spent working on my case, which is in contrast to contract, which was provided at the end of our meeting. Apparently I was billed for my time spent reviewing her working relationship agreement, then not given a copy to take with me. As if divorce isn't difficult enough to have an attorney take advantage of my situation is horrible. To date she has refused to return my retainer despite having terminated her relationship with me. In her recusal documents, her reason for removal was inaccurate. I have wasted my money and was provided no representation, should have bought a book divorce for dummies. Cited reason for not responding to some emails was because she checks emails on her phone and must have missed part of the email, because the screen is so small, REALLY? hello iPad? You would think for these rates she could sit in front of her computer at the end of the day and reviews emails to make sure she didn't miss anything. Basically I was billed multiple times for the same thing because I had to remind her to do her job. Despite my multiple requests to review documents prior to them being sent, due to inaccuracies in the letters, she refused to allow this claiming it was counter-productive for her and her staff. Apparently it is ok for me to have to call or write, be billed for her time, have her redress these issues, be billed for her time, not be able to review the letter, be billed for a re-write, not be allowed to see it, have to call or write again because of errors, be billed for her time. You get the picture! Financially productive for her. HORRIBLE ATTORNEY! More excuses than answers, at $225 per hour I expected so much more!

Horrible experience. She cares nothing about your case and only about over billing you. Paid thousands and in the end I just gave up and settled it myself rather than continue to pay her to drag it out and bleed my checkbook. Honestly, divorce is traumatic enough--hire someone that has your best interests at heart. I wish I had.

Timothy L. Clawges, Esq. is the chief PD for Cumberland County that was assigned to me and did nothing when it came to me communicating my side of the story. I highly recommend people to start looking for a paid lawyer who will truly work on your case as luckily my case was transferred to an Assistant which made the difference in my outcome. I know its tough to seek counsel especially when you cannot afford a lawyer and thus only can rely on a public defender. He did nothing for me, in all criteria, therefore I give 1 star in all criteria.

When Gunta was appointed as a public defender to defend my son he never once defended my son nor sujested that a Motion to Suppress Evidence could've ben filed, He was just there to make 'deals' with the DA.. My son was illegally stopped while driving, and the cop search his car with a vague 'probable cause' and for not being well advised my son pleaded guilty A " small" probation and a small fine if he pleaded guilty he said, for paraphernelia, that turned out to be loosing our rights, parole officers bugging us and $1.087 dollars. A record should've been avoided for my son was at the time 18 yrs old. I don't recommend lazy attorneys because eventhough he was a Public Defender he was not working for free, the government paid him a salary to do a job on behalf the costitution of the United States.

i had the misfortune of hiring this person back in 1992/1993. He completed the paperwork & filed it, but didn't show up for my bankruptcy hearing (this was back before everyone had access to a cellphone) I had to sit through the days hearings while they kept pushing my hearing to a later and later time in the day. during breaks, I used a payphone to call his office & leave messages throughout the day. The following day he had not returned any of my calls so I left a message on the voice mails of every one of the other lawyers in his firm stating what had happened. The senior partner finally called me back & I explained my frustration & disappointment. he agreed to refund me a portion of the money I had paid. later that day Mr. Portman called me and said that he didn't show because I should have paid him more money. ( I paid the rate that was agreed upon at our initial meeting).

They are supposed to uphold dignity in the courtrooms of Pennsylvania but really they just protect their own.
