Been trying to get ahold of him for two months because he represents my husband on a case. He is non responsive and this phone number and address are inaccurate. Got his real contact information from the state bar along with his state bar record. Check the information out for yourself.

IMHO: Unprofessional, borderline ethics. Avoid all, especially the younger Simon.

I worked specifically with Eric Heath. He helped me get every last dollar for my case. He was tenacious, and also was very good about responding to communication in a timely matter. A good firm for your accident needs!!

I need the best lawyer I can find...that is what I kept telling myself when I needed representation after sustaining injuries in a major accident. I was referred to the Simon Law Group and I can tell you with absolute certainty Mr. Simon and his staff are the best. Mr. Simon took on my case and with his skill, work ethic and guidance, overwhelmingly won the case. I and my family cannot thank him and his team enough for their hard work and understanding while going through a long and difficult litigation process. Mr. Simon's knowledge of the law and skill in navigating the judicial system in my type of case were instrumental in such a positive outcome. I highly recommend Mr. Simon and the Simon Law group.

I came to Conrad with a DUI I was falsely being accused of. Real story is I was driving my friends who were drinking home and was pulled over for “running” a red light. I passed the cops physical examination but when asked to breath test I denied it during Covid. The took me to jail never did any blood work and held me until my court date. There was literally zero evidence of the accusation that I was drinking at all that night and I should’ve just received a ticket and went home. When I came to Conrad he basically gave me false promises telling me I did everything right and for x amount of dollars he would take care of the whole thing. When the court date came I was confused when he recommended I plead guilty and we can deal with the DMV together so that I wouldn’t at least get my license taken away. This should’ve been the point where I fired him but I’ve never had been in trouble or needed a lawyer before so of course I thought I better take the advise of the person I paid for. The DMV hearing came shortly after and Conrad barely said a couple words, and my license was taken away for a year. So not only did I pay this terrible lawyer thousands of dollars on a case I should’ve won. I now have a DUI on record for 10 years and my license taken away hard for 1 year. He never responded to any texts after that helping me through any of it. If you read this far it really just comes down to I should’ve done more research before hiring him. For example a lawyer who been in business “20years” with 5-6 reviews… red flag right there. SAVE YOUR MONEY, TIME, and FREEDOM. Use someone better!

Conrad’s a nice guy and presents well. I don’t think he understands how to get things done however. I have two years of text message exchanges with him either ignoring my messages or making excuses including personal issues that were the reason for my case stalling. I payed ahead of time for the task to get a parson which should have been easy according to him. He said it would take 6 months when I wrote him a check. 2.5 years later I have none of my rights reinstated and my money is gone. Interestingly it looks as though someone has placed a review with very similar details to mine. Of course with all stars. Total sham.

Brian is a guy who loses touch with objective truth and dangerously flirts with subjectivity and speculation. He tends to represent females in need … not a pretty picture— and quickly gets personally involved with his clients. His demeanor is questionable at best, and it’s surprising he hasn’t received legal censure by the state bar of California. The previous review mentioned his fees (or lack thereof) and that is quite telling about his own motives in taking on cases. It’s not about money, so what is it about? This guy needs to be investigated for improper attorney-client relations. His reputation is clouded by bombastic behavior in and outside of the courtroom. Everything is personal for him. He will drag your case on and on.

Brian is an amazing attorney for child custody. He was passionate about my family law case and helped me with a child custody arrangement to keep my child safe. He has an incredible amount of knowledge and strong intuition. He commands the court room and is highly skilled at getting to the point an in effective manner. He is my second attorney. I have been with him for a few years now. The first attorney I tried had a much lower hourly rate, but what I later found was that Brian was much more cost effective in the long run. To go to court with the first attorney somehow costed me significantly more than Brian did for a single court hearing. After Brian's first billing, I knew he was a good guy and not out to get rich off my case, in addition to being very effective in court. The other thing I would say about him is that he understands how emotionally difficult these cases are and has been able to coach me into calmness at times and help me see things that I could not extract from various experiences on my own. Brian Martin is a master at what he does. And I highly recommend him.

Johnson and his firm were disorganized. They lost a trial for us that should have been won, except Johnson was too busy paying attention to another trial. They have problems in their communications with clients, and in deciding between themselves who is going to do what. This type of disorganization is dangerous for clients and can lead to missed deadlines.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
