I had the pleasure of working with David Paz Jr. for a traffic violation case, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the outcome. From the very first consultation, he demonstrated a deep understanding of traffic laws and a genuine commitment to achieving the best possible result for me. Mr. Paz was incredibly professional, responsive, and transparent throughout the entire process. He took the time to explain every detail and kept me informed at every step. What truly stood out was his strategic approach to my case, which ultimately led to a dismissal of the charges and court costs! If you’re looking for a knowledgeable and dedicated traffic attorney who will fight tirelessly for your rights, look no further than David Paz Jr. I highly recommend him to anyone in need of legal representation for traffic issues.

Angel did my business tax filing and made the process hassle free. He was very thorough and clearly explained to me every step of the process. I didn't feel like I was out of the loop in doing my taxes as you would with many other accountants who simply ask for information and don't communicate a lot of what's being done. I also utilized him for personal taxes for 2015 and I must say in all the years, this was the most stress free experience I have had. He's great, hardworking, and gets the job done. My husband and I are very pleased and we got a very comfortable refund back this year because of Angel guiding us on how to file correctly.

I am a Vietnam Era Veteran, living in Dade County, and experiencing financial difficulties caused by the problems (collapse of the economics, mortgage and housing Industries) brought upon us, in my opinion, by the irresponsible and greedy behavior of leaders and upper managers within the respective agencies, companies and departments of government, economics and commerce. With that said, so far, I am favorably satisfied with Mr. David's character and demeanor; he seems personable to speak with and his responses to my questions indicate a sense of patience and respect (perhaps owing to a minor glitch in timing relative to our meeting) in verbal dialogue (with me, at least). His manner of conversation put me at ease and conveyed a sense of integrity regarding his conduct of business and concern to understand my needs and situation. I do not have enough experience with Mr. David to state much more at this point. I feel relatively secure in asking for his help to attend a (foreclosure) mediation meeting with me; it has yet to take place.

Johnathan Arias is a SHAM. Not only is he a sham of an Attorney he is very dishonest. Before I paid Johnathan money to assist with my tenant evictions, all paperwork was completed by ME. Johnathan had no paperwork to file as I completed everything on my own before I even decided to hire an attorney. Johnathan tried to sway me by saying he’s “thorough” but in actuality Johnathan is a scam. Your typical money hungry lawyer. Here’s what happened: the day I paid Johnathan (who continuously had his assistant begging me for my business so that he can be on this case) I paid Johnathan on Feb 9th at about noon that afternoon, at around 3pm that same day I got a tip from the neighbor that the evicted tenant has completely vacated the property. I contacted Johnathan immediately and told him “hey the neighbor just called me and mentioned the tenant has moved out, does that change the dynamics of this case?” Johnathan of course lied and say “No we will continue to move forward with the eviction” I trusted him although in my mind I’m thinking if the goal was to put her out and she’s out BEFORE we go to court than how can we proceed with an eviction case right? Johnathan wanted to make that appearance money so bad, that he lied and said the case will continue. They teach you in 1L Class this is considered a MOOT case and “Johnathan the scammer” knew this, How do we have a case to move forward if it’s resolved?. Ok Cool. The following day we go to court and sure enough the case was dismissed as the tenant had vacated the property. Johnathan Did NOTHING for this case. NOTHING. When I called Johnathan letting him know the tenant moved out which is exactly 3 hours of him charging the card with extra fees that was not even authorized, the goal Was to get a full refund and move on. But when you’re dealing with shady, money hungry lawyers like Johnathan they’ll lie to you about an outcome knowing it’s a MOOT case than when I questioned him about it, he goes “I didn’t know this would be the outcome” Goofy!

Mr. Jonathan Arias is by far the best attorney I have ever dealt with. I had a issue with Chimes Bank. Chimes tried to straight up take $60,000 dollars from me, but thank to Mr. Arias that didn't happen. He told me he would get my funds back. He also explained to me step by step how he would do it. Mr. Arias did just what he stated he would do. Mr. Arias got my funds back within three days. I would use Mr. Arias again if this ever happen again. Which I doubt, because he put his foot down. Mr. Arias also has an amazing staff that are employed by him as well. I would like to give Mr. Arias, his employees and an extra Thanks to Mrs. Michelle Gonzalez his assistant. They are prompt in every thing they do for their clients.

Mr. Arias was extremely attentive to my traffic case and kept me informed throughout the process. After having missed a traffic court date my Drivers License was ordered to be suspended. Arias Law firm filed a motion to set aside on my behalf and the motion was granted!! My license was not suspended thanks to Mr. Arias and his skillful handeling of my case. I HIGHLY recommend Arias Law for any help you might need.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
