We had an ongoing civil litigation with a home builder, this builder failed to commence the project on the start date, also never pounded one nail nor made any improvements by the finish date, after several attempts to get back on track with the builder, we all agreed to part ways! The story not turns very bad for us as this builder and his attorneys filed Contractors Liens, Order were requested to the Court to sell our property, his Attorneys strong armed us with threats of huge attorney fees and on and on for a couple of years. We did attempt to settle this matter with an attorney without resolution, finally we were told about this law firm, and to our amazement the case was completely settled with a very satisfactory amount!

I share office space with Jeff Landon and he is a colleague of mine but we have separate practices. When a friend of mine called me about representing him in a custody matter I told him that I did not handle family law cases so I referred him to Jeff. I regularly refer family law cases to Jeff without reservation but they are usually not friends. Because my office is adjacent to Jeff's and many hearings are conducted via Zoom, I regularly see and hear how Jeff interacts with his clients, opposing counsel, witnesses and judges. This puts me in a unique position to access his skill as an attorney and allowed me to confidently recommend him to my good friend who was fighting to retain custody of his son.
Although I regularly refer cases to Jeff, I generally do not have a personal interest in the outcome of the cases nor do I have personal relationships with the people who I refer to him. This case was different so I followed the progress with interest and attended my friend's custody hearing today to provide emotional support. Jeff did a masterful job of presenting my friend's case and exposing the false and misleading narrative presented by the other side. The judge ruled in my friend's favor and literally gave him most everything he wanted (which is unheard of in family law.) My friend could not have gotten a better outcome.
Family law is an extremely emotional and challenging area of law to practice especially when children are involved. Jeff is a great family law attorney who represents his clients zealously but is also practical, mindful of the costs of litigation and skillfully obtains great results for his clients. I'd hire him myself and will eagerly refer him to any friends or family members who need the services of a family law attorney in the future.

I have used Kevin Thomson for a few different legal occurrences and issues. When people say, "I love my lawyer", this is just like whom they are speaking of.

The first thing that comes to my mind is, what would we have done if we didn’t have William to represent us. William stood up for us against a huge corporation, that had many attorneys, but that didn’t even matter to him, he took our case, did amazing research, was articulate, knowledgeable, and effective, and won our case, and in a timely manner! I can only share my own personal experience, I am sure Janet will respond to this with. I was an anxious client or whatever excuse she may come up with, but the truth is who wouldn’t be anxious when dealing with a divorce? Janet did not work for me she did not get me what I deserved. She was not in my corner And she got paid close to $10,000 for basically talking about religion and then charging me for the time she would speak about it when I would try to discuss my concerns or questions. This was my first divorce. She would hush me and not let me speak so I never felt like she really got the full scope of my case nor do I feel like she cared to know my personal situation I should’ve gotten a lot more out of it than I did I would not recommend her if you’re going through a divorce I cannot speak about what kind of attorney she is outside of divorce cases. This is just my own personal experience with her. I would definitely go elsewhere. She was also very rude to me. I have saved every email. She would forget things almost put me in default on paperwork that needed to be turned in. It was an absolute mess dealing with her.

I ask Mr.Fleming to help me,I loaned a friend money she made a payment to me then filed bankrupsty and the courts wanted the money back. This would not have been a big deal if it were twenty dolars,but it was $7000 and she still owed me $3400. The courts explained to me I was an insider and she showed favor to me for paying me. Mr Fleming became involved and I didnt return one penny. I was truely impressed with his empathy for me and he understood. If I ever encounter legal trouble again he will be the first person I call.

Phil definitely went to bat for me and my daughter. I think a big part of the court system is paperwork, he filed all the correct paperwork that got my case straight to the point and kept me updated as to what will happen next. She is tenacious and isn’t afraid to tell you what you need to hear…even if you don’t want to hear it or don’t like what she has to say. I had sought her legal help that was out of her ability for one particular case and she found me an attorney that would better serve my needs. I will always consult with Ms. Bibler, because I find her to be honest, reasonable, and a go getter.

Attorney Orandello does not follow the statutory requirements for her job. She also does not conduct thorough investigations or provide factually accurate information to the court. She refers matters out to her colleagues if funds are involved to try to reap financial gain from vulnerable and disabled individuals. Attorney Orandello will flat out lie in her reports to the court if lying suits her position on a case. As a sworn officer of the court she does not adhere to the ethical principles set forth by the state bar of Michigan. I would never recommend hiring this Attorney.

He is Over rated. Engle is slow and too old. He was very bad at his line of questioning, took a long time to get to point. He didn't get to the point of the questions i laid out for him. Judge had to tell him to move it along. The judge and Prosecutors look like they know that he has trouble getting to the point and show him up and cut him off. He definitelyisnt no trial lawyer. I paid him $2000 up front. Keep me out of Jail and keep my job. He wasn't able to do either one. I was thrown in jail by Grant. Myself amd my witnesses never even got to speak. Even the bailiff told me he didn't know why he was taking me to jail. And his Injunction I paid $1000 for, was useless. I was robbed and cleaned out by Theif legally. It was a set up by a c9n artist and everyone knew it and didnt care. They got their pound of flesh from me. He couldn't even protect my property. Then he sent me a bil for another $2000. I refuse to pay for his incompetence. He needs to retire. He is way past is sell date.

I hired Benjamin Whiting to represent me for an evidentiary hearing which didn’t ever occur. Benjamin DID NOT do any work on my case whatsoever beyond notifying the court he would be appearing as my attorney for the evidentiary hearing which did not happen. My court dates were switched several times by the court- yet this did not encourage Benjamin to contact me via phone/email in regard to my case. I attempted to discuss a witness list with Benjamin- he refused. I attempted to ask Benjamin when and how we would be subpoenaing said witnesses- I received no response. I gave Benjamin a $3,000 retainer where he did nothing for months, & in June after going almost an entire month while attempting to reach Mr. Whiting I chose to terminate him.
Mr. Whiting returned $1600 of my money.
Rather than solely charging me for the appearance he’d put into the court, Mr. Whiting made up various jobs surrounding my case which he did not do reflected on the invoice. I asked him to describe those jobs, or provide proof- he has since refused to respond to me.
I can promise he didn’t do them because he wouldn’t (and couldn’t) quote the issues within my case (he couldn’t when I chose to terminate him) and this is because in the months while I waited for my new date- Mr. Whiting and I did not communicate about my own case for a total of 6o minutes. TWICE I believed I had court on a following Monday and neither time Mr. Whiting was prepared for the hearing I had paid him for. It was only luck of the draw those dates were re-arranged, but it doesn’t negate this attorneys decision to remain unprepared. We didn’t discuss ANY of the evidence I felt I had compiled for the case- because we didn’t discuss anything beyond the bare bones initially. Mr. Whiting took my retainer with the bare bones info he had, entered himself as my attorney, & charged me more than $1400 of a $3000 retainer which at this point would have seemingly been spent even though we NEVER MADE IT to the hearing.
I will be communicating with the Michigan bar for over-billing and what next steps I can take in this process. I wanted to write a review to prevent people from spending their money with this man. Should you choose Mr. Whiting as representation, please consider my review in case you also end up needing to file against Mr. Whiting for over-billing. I only hired this man because I wanted new eyes on my case- I do not want others to make the same mistake if they’re able to prevent it.
