Mr. London helped me through a very tough situation. I came to him just before the new year because I got a DUI. Told him everything and how the officer treated me and Mr.London took over from there. He was prompt with me by letting me know all possible outcomes of my case and let me know he is a lawyer for a reason. He proved that by getting my charge reduced then expunged. I highly recommend Mr. London for this great service he provided me with and I think you will be glad you choose him as well.

Jason is a wonderful attorney. His fees are fair, he is very responsive and reachable when needed. Excellent communication. He won’t blow smoke just to get your business. He is smart, organized, well spoken, and truly invested in his clients. He is no nonsense, but fair and caring. I could go on and on honestly. I’ve used other attorneys and they don’t compare to Jason at all. Get a consultation and hire him, you won’t be disappointed.

Mr Arthur was truly amazing. I was referred to him by a coworker and he didnt disappoint. He was professional and caring towards me but had no hesitation in picking up the phone and holding the other parties accountable. He did paperwork the opposing counsel was supposed to do (I heard the judge), and was always one step ahead. He doesnt play politics and was there to get done what I needed. Very reasonable fee in comparison. Trust me. No idea why a person would hire anyone else.

I was in a legal battle and after hearing Gene Scott’s name several times, I called and met with Gene. I am very thankful to have listened to those advising me. Gene and Hope were great. Both treated me with respect and gave me opinions but allowed me to decide the path. I wanted to go to trial and they did so. We won!! I will always trust them and consider them friends/family. I hired Mr Cunnyngham for a speeding ticket. There were a number of irregularities in the violation / ticket. I told him I felt that the ticket was not deserved. He agreed. He did all the investigative work and uncovered a few problems with the ticket that resulted in the case being tossed out. I cant say enough good things about his work. A great human being.

Mr. Cunnyngham represented me in a texting while driving case in Carter County, TN. I have a Class A CDL and He understood the importance of keeping moving violations off of my record. He was very helpful throughout the entire process and was always available to chat by phone or email. He was very prepared to defend me in court and left no stone unturned in making sure that I would have a solid defense. He won my case for me and I would highly recommend anyone in Northeast TN that wants a great traffic attorney that will fight for them in court to hire Andy. He was very well worth hiring in my case.

I am currently a client of Steve's. After speaking with several lawyers about my case, I went with Steve, and I'm so happy I did. He's actually an attorney who cares and fights for you. Even if my case doesn't go our way, I will still recommend him. I just can't speak highly enough of him!

Mr. Kidd was very professional and kept me in the loop on every aspect of my case. Communication is something I've noticed that some attorneys struggle with; however, Mr. Kidd was always available to answer any questions. Mr. Kidd is very intelligent and works very hard for his clients. I highly recommend Mr. Kidd for any legal issue.

I hired Mr. Phillips for several issues. The first was a firearm related issue. His opinion was that I would have no problems purchasing firearms after being falsely accused by a woman that had accused 4 men of stalking her before me. I placed an order for several expensive arms and after a 2 year wait was denied. After this (but before having the firearm issue) I hired him for a divorce. I had to do a lot of the leg work, finding documents, and coming up with basic ideas of how to proceed in the case. This is what he was paid for, I shouldn’t have to do that. Next is the most serious case. I’m a medical doctor and was falsely accused and defamed. I paid Mr. Phillips thousands of dollars months and months ago. At the time he agreed to take my case and my money. When the time came to go to court he wanted to bail out. I literally had to convince him while in court to proceed, he gave several excuses trying to get out of it. We ended up winning the first part of that case. However soon after Mr. Phillips informed me he had a new client, a Hemp shop, and no longer had time to help me with my case even though he was paid for it. Can you imagine being told your attorney no longer has time for you because they have a new client? This was very bizarre because we won a million dollar verdict. Who would try to get out of a case like that? During the second defamation court proceeding I found out that Mr. Phillips neglected to confirm that the defendant was properly served. The million dollar verdict was dismissed in TN. A waste of thousands of dollars and many many months of stress and worry. Also for 3 months I sent emails, texts, and phone calls to publish our first defamation case win to repair my reputation as a medical doctor. He said he was too busy. Yes he actually said he was too busy to send Johnson City Press an email to repair my reputation. He said after October 1 I would have to find a new lawyer, again very bizarre. He then said after Oct 1 he would publish the win in the newspaper after I kept asking over and over and over... yeah that’s not a typo. I would need a new lawyer after Oct 1 but he would publish the results of the trial after Oct 1? No, he knew he screwed up my case and there would be no case after Oct 1 to publish. He either lied or misinformed me about documents that other attorneys were requesting which would have made a very big difference in the outcome of my case. In addition to all this I would send him detailed emails regarding our various cases, I do not believe he ever read anything or just disregarded it. This is not a guy you can trust. -Dan Nicolau, MD

In the short time that I met with Mr. Taylor I quickly learned that he was more interested in representing female clients. Did not return my phone calls for several weeks. The secretary said he was "out of the office" but when I had another family member call to make an appointment as a new client, he was all of the sudden back in the office. During my consultation he seemed like a "know-it-all". He didn't seem to know the law very well and kept having to reference everything I was asking him. I think he cared more about my wallet than about my case. I would find a more competent attorney and not waste your time.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.

Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.

Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
