I will write reviews everyday until this loses attorney withdraws. You can't call this attorney. Or he will block you. You can't ask questions or he will block you. And he refuses to communicate. He needs a new profession. In all my years I've never seen such a distasteful attorney. He should be disbarred. Beware! He will not work for you. He's known to be appointed counsel from the court. He takes the money from the state to represent cases and will do nothing for you. He is representing several court appointed cases in orange county and one in specific he has sat on the case for 7 months and never has seen his client or filed on motion or a bond hearing. His clients are sitting in jail and he's refusing to do anything for them. He should be disbarred for being so incompetent!

I totally disagree with that negative comment towards Mr. Pete Placencia. He was recommended to me by my neighbor after a rear end accident I had in 2016. Not only did he win my case but the well trained staff were always there through out to answer any questions I had. Great law firm. Got more than I expected. Great job Pete!!

He is a really bad attorney sucks he takes any case, has a really bad employee turn over and he makes his clients think he is a great lawyer and you have a great case then he looses and does not want to present your car for trial. Not recommended he keeps changing his staff all the time. So your file is constanly changed from hand to hand really hires inexperienced people then he fires them. He sucks as an attorney in my book I have never seen anything like it. Not recommended run when you here his name trust me.

Mrs Weinberger is a great person and a great lawyer. She got me out of a nasty divorce, she is very professional, honest and weighs a lot in court, she is a tiger in front of judges and is also very diplomatic. Mrs Weinberger is very trustworthy and better than any lawyer I dealt with. I strongly recommend her, she has a lot of experience and can be trusted with your case, she knows the sequence of events and takes very balanced decisions, which saves your guesses. She is very understanding and a pleasure to work with. I also appreciate Theresa and Kathy, overall a great team

I hired Julie for my divorce, but after repeated issues, I decided to fire her. She had memory problems swearing we'd never discussed something that we talked about at length two days before. Very hard to get appointments. Very slow. Doesn't use a computer at all. (When I used her around 2013, she literally had her staff print her emails and put them in a stack on her desk!). You can imagine how these cause things to slip through the cracks, communication errors, dropping the ball on issues, etc).

I hired her to handle my case. It was the worst decision in lawyers ever. This was a first divorce for me and a long time marriage ending. It was supposed to be easy as we were in agreement as we split. The ex was told to get his own lawyer because the paralegal suggested he was getting screwed over. This led to a giant fight and legal expenses that she benefitted from. I was overbilled for emails that were never answered and an hour minimum to just ask a question. The The entire staff was rude and refused to answer questions. I was belittled and scolded for asking anything. I was told we were going to trial then told I needed to settle and my expectations were outrageous. The terms were the ones she designed in the beginning. I didn't suggest anything. I was left to defend myself during mediation and it was the most stressful process I have ever been through. Worst service, and the follow up paperwork was so messed up that the child support stopped due to a typo in her forms filed which lead to more fighting and unnecessary conflict by all parties. FIND SOMEONE ELSE

In a seriously sketchy twist, Alejandro Marriaga, the lawyer who's supposed to uphold justice, is cozying up with SteelX, a company knee-deep in shady dealings. Talk about dropping the ball on justice and integrity! So, here's the scoop: If you're even thinking about dealing with Alejandro Marriaga or anything connected to SteelX, hit the brakes big time. The red flags are flying high, and it's time to steer clear. With this jaw-dropping news, we're sending out a major warning signal: Keep your distance from Alejandro Marriaga and the whole SteelX crew. I would like to express my experience with Lawyers Title Network. My husband and I signed with them two years ago (year-to-date no house, just dirt on our lot) , with Steel X and Hallmark Home Mortgage. The are accomplice with Steel X home, and they are steeling hundreds of thousands of dollars from innocent families, who have worked very hard to buy their first home. ALEJANDRO MARRIAGA the owner of Lawyers Title Network is a con artist just like Richard Rivera. If you are about to do a closing with this title company, Steel x and any and any bank related to this people, SAVE YOUR SELF A FAVOR AND DONT. They are using the buyers money( deposits and down payments) to pay for commissions and fees instead of going to the bank how it should be. Lawyers Title Network is supposed to have your money in an escrow account which I doubt they do. Do your research and you will find ALEJANDRO MARRIAGA in may lawsuits defending Steel X Homes

If there was a zero star available this is definitely the rating Osceola county PD Alex Johnson should receive. It's saddens me that in 2023 public defender Alex Johnson is still participating in lack of privilege to all defendants. In other words let's just say word around town if you don't have money to afford paid counsel you might not get a fair trial. I've seen this first hand not just from Mr Johnson and I've also seen public defenders that fight for the rights of the less Fortune it gives me joy to have experience this type of treatment in this known cliche public defenders don't care they work for the state... Let's just say you're fighting for your life and you never get to speak to your attorney whose job is to third party you're right to the fullest. Not only that you're presumed innocent before being found in a guilty gr ruling. Bottom line beware if you're fighting for your life and have no family free to pay attention in your criminal case . This is totally unacceptable so again beware of bad council as like this public defender never answer the phone he may visit you a couple times to get your story just to do the total opposite of what you asked him to do for your freedom he will jeopardize your life and freedom for his pockets BEWARE!!!!!

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
