He was helpful as to what I could conceivably expect to be able to do and gave me advice to be sure I did not violate any of the main points that the contract covered. My husband and I retained Garrett Gaa twice to help us navigate a foster care/custody situation and represent us in court.
We live outside the state of Florida which my our situation difficult. Garrett and his staff provided excellent counsel and support during this process. Garrett was on top of the case every step of the way and kept us informed in a timely manner. He was honest with us about our rights and what we could expect based on Florida law. He accompanied us to the court hearing and explained what to expect during the proceedings prior to entering the courtroom.
Garrett demonstrated his knowledge of Florida law during his management of our case. He treated us with dignity, respect and was empathetic to our situation. His fees were reasonable and he was accurate and fair with billable hours and associated costs.
When I read a review about an attorney, I want to read that they are honest, fair and knowledgeable. Garrett Gaa possess those character traits and more.

I went to visit Garrett about six months ago. He was just a regular dude- very open, professional, and approachable. I was seeking timeshare/custody modification for my two boys. He had been studying how to litigate against former spouses with personality disorders. This was the attorney I needed because my former is the abusive, manipulative, cunning, lying, narcissistic, cray cray, anorexic, alcoholic type . I was pretty excited to find the right guy for the job. Unfortunately, his boss did not want to take the case because of a conflict of interest. Garrett did give me the professional courtesy of telling me the conflict was that his boss was friends with the uncle of my former spouse. Whatever. Garrett is a good dude, his boss kinda sucks, but oh well. I am still able to contact him from time to time for encouragement when I get down while I am going through current litigation even though he has no obligation to do so. That is really cool of him. I would recommend this guys to someone who needs an expert in custody litigation, especially if their former spouse has personality disorders.

Chris assisted my husband and I recently in creating our wills. He took my call immediately, I didn't even have to wait for an appointment. He explained everything in detail, drew up the will and had it emailed to me in only a few hours. He made a difficult topic absolutely painless. He was easy to talk to and extremely professional at the same time - a hard combo to come by in an attorney.
I also had a separate legal issue to discuss and he allowed me to run it by him during that same consultation regarding our will. When I asked how much he charged for the separate legal matter, he was so gracious and told me not to worry about it. Talk about amazing customer service! I will definitely recommend him to anyone that is in need of legal advice in the future.

You know I had to actually laugh when I read the latest AVVO rating on this woman, apparently written by a "disgrunted" "CHRONIC" complainer, who from the words written speak for themselves. I would put money on this that it was written by a grown man who holds himself out to be "greater" than now. I also know this lady and have known her for many years. She does have a very small office, and yes, her paralegal does share office space with her. And I do believe that I have even seen a file on the floor, perhaps more than once. But when you need something or an attorney to be standing beside you, you can bet your last dollar that GAIL R. CHEATWOOD will be there. I have seen this in the past also. As my mother always said, if you can't say something nice, then "shut up". Look in the mirror and take heed. Ms. Cheatwood has a lot of people who care about her and I do mean a lot. She surely deserves a better rating that what she has, but you know what? I am sure that she won't lose any sleep over this one. Good try though!!! Better luck next time!!

I had a criminal case which I was not guilty of to begin with. I had several free visits with two other attorneys before visiting Ms. Cheatwood's office. I was very satisfied with her mannerism, her knowledge and her frankness regarding my situation. Talk about telling it like it is. She did. She did not try to reel me in like the others that I had seen previously and that meant a lot to me when it came time to make my decision on who I would hire to represent me. Ms. Cheatwood asked me who I had spoken to before and when I told her, she commented that they were both competent and well respected attorneys. This impressed me more than the initial consultation. I was also shocked at her fee, in that I was expecting to be handing out much more than I actually did. She does work with her clients and arranges a payment plan for you. She won my case and I just want to return the favor and tell everyone who reads this, that this should be the attorney for you.

I am currently having to work with this firm with my late grandmother's trust. The only thing I can say is RUN. The billable is around 500 a hour, and the paperwork will be riddled with mistakes. I have personally delivered important information to their office directly, and it was still wrong on the final draft. Hire this firm if you like talking to paralegals and receptionists just to have your "lawyer" skim it and send it. Take your money to someone who cares, not these people.

Brad Stewart has been my attorney for the past 10 years in a long and exhausting case that was finally settled for over 1 million dollars after my insurance company refused to pay the policy limits of 100,000 and I had to sue them for bad faith. He handled my case expertly through a jury trial where the verdict was in our favor and then the appeals process that the insurance company put us through. I have called upon Ed Garrabrandts since first moving to Florida in 1979.
First when my husband and I set up our wills. Again when he passed away in 1985...
Over the years he has handled estates (I have been widowed twice), set up trusts and handled a multitude of things needing an attorney that occur over a lifetime.
Each time he has always answered his own phone and always made you feel as if you had returned as a dear friend that had been absent.
