Outstanding experience with the Hammerle law firm. Worked with Robert Morris updating our wills along with multiple other documents such as directives to physicians. He did a great job of making changes based on listening to our desires and wishes.

Ten years ago Mr. Julian came to our aid in a time of need. We had hired two lawyers before we met him. They did not fit our needs, but when we met Mr. Julian, he knew exactly how to proceed. We will be forever grateful for his guidance.

He was a mediator for our divorce case seemed to only support my spouse and didnt come across as fair to me at all in the mediation process. Wouldnt even entertain a disproppotionate share to be done for the assets inspite of the cruelty. Just kept pressuring me to give in .

Five stars isn’t enough and I can’t recommend this mediator highly enough. My former spouse chose to spend almost a year revenge-fighting with attorneys despite my agreeing to what he wanted from the beginning. We met with Mr. Julian after the judge ordered mediation. It is very clear that Mr. Julian is an astute judge of character, and he was able to quickly assess our situation and the best manner to facilitate a quick and equitable agreement. He ended my marriage and associated legal fees almost immediately and I could not be more grateful for his help. He’s a great person who cares about his clients, is able to view each situation objectively, communicate with each party in the most effective manner, and will get the job done for you.

We hired this attorney and we settled our case for an amount well over our medical bills and attorney fees. Yet 18 months later no medical bills have been paid Either. She will not communicate with us. Took 6 months just to get part of our case files for new attorney we had to hire to sue her. Refused to give us all of our case files. Was told by attorneys that are associated with her Sample & Ames our money is gone and they don’t know what happened to it. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for help or you could be in the same boat as we are.

I had the the pleasure of working with Dina for the past 2 years on a personal injury case. The case was handled in a professional manner and I was communicated to at all stages of the case. Dina's experience, legal knowledge, and professional network was a critical factor in the outcome of my case. I would highly recommend her.

I was faced with all manner of false allegations and the nightmare of losing my four precious children. After all was said and done, Mrs. Steele pursued my case more aggressively than I ever considered possible. In the end, the horrific false allegations against me were completely dismissed, my former spouse was not able to break the geographical restriction and move my children out of state, my child support was lowered to the accurate amount, a restraining order was placed on an aggressive step-parent and most of all, I received more visitation than I had ever asked for! Bottom line, all anyone could do was talk about my hardship and losses; Mrs. Steele not only counseled with me, but was then able to do something about it. She strategically, and aggressively applied the law to each situation. Mrs. Steele saved my children, my family, and restored hope in the midst of utter hopeless despair.

I've used David Heiman in two different situations. One was for custody/child support when my son's father just stopped showing up to pick up my son when we had joint custody. David got me full custody and a fair amount of child support in less than 5 months. He worked hard and was always available when I needed anything. I used him again two years later when my husband's ex called CPS unwarranted on us when I was 8 months pregnant. CPS called my phone at 6:45am and then had the nerve to write in a report that I sounded like I was on drugs. I had just had a baby and was exhausted! Long story short David saved my family from the vicious claws of CPS and got them to drop their BS case and leave us alone! I am so incredibly thankful for his dedication to our case. He was a tad hard on me but I could tell he was just making sure we were being truthful. Once he believed me he really pushed and fought hard for me. I would definitely recommend him!

Now he had been my lawyer a year with nothing started or finished. I ended up pregnant during the process. He wanted to charge me another 3k in fees and i wanted tempory rights started he said that would be another 1500. A total 5k for what was supposed to only take 6 months. Now 1 and a half years later u hured another attorney and he refused to give me my money back. He is lazy and rude. Amd treats people like they are nothing. The entire time i meet with him hr was on his phone! Do your self a favor and do not hire him

Extremely grateful for the help of this law firm. My case involved being owed money from a small business and Mr. Charles Beachley immediately knew what to do and how to help. The result of the case ended with me receiving the money I was rightfully owed. Ms. Layne Roberts was also very polite and professional anytime I spoke with her. Highly recommend this law firm for your legal matters.

Hunter was easy to work with, kept me informed and we had a great outcome on my divorce. He listened to my thoughts and I remained always open to his advice. A divorce case is a difficult and emotional time and he helped me maintain my sanity throughout it all. I would definitely recommend him to any one.

I hired Hunter to represent me in a child custody case. Leading up to my trial everything was fairly ok as far as communication and so forth. I provided Hunter with everything he needed to fight for me in court. When it came down to the trial Hunter did not present any of the documents he had right in front him, he did not defend me at all whatsoever, so you can guess who lost in court that day. It was an easy win for the opposing attorney. I would not recommend Hunter as a lawyer. As a result of hiring him I have since had to hire another attorney and am having to do everything all over again from scratch and Hunter is to blame, he did not defend me and he did not tell my story. He did absolutely nothing. I would recommend anyone that is considering hiring Hunter or any other attorney to thoroughly do your research .

I would not recommend Bob as he started out great at first, but has trouble finishing his job. We hired him and paid him in full due to a lawsuit, then we just can't get a hold of him as he would never respond to our calls, emails or text messages. Until finally he responded and apologized and finished the job and even offered some free service. Three months later he still did not provide the free service that he promised and again cannot be reached. It is very frustrating for us and unprofessional on his part.

I reached out to Roberto to see if he would take my case. He agreed he would and would send over a contract. I waited for over two weeks to get said contract. I called and emailed multiple times. I even asked if he doesn't have the time, just communicate that so I can find another attorney. Nothing. Dead silence. I would not recommend working with him. If this is the level of communication he provides before starting a case, image how it is during a case. No thank you.

I hired this office to handle my father's probate. It's been over a year and I still have no results. I made a partial payment when we began process and it didn(t get logged to my account. Thank goodness I had requested my receipt so I could prove later I had made a payment. I have only had a phone consultation with Ms. Stokes. At no time have I had any other contact with her. After a few months of waiting, I called and asked the receptionist to have someone contact me if they heard any news about my probate. I was told in a sarcastic tone that, " yes, we're good that way." Yet still months went by and not one call. So maybe they aren't that good in that way, hmm? Time marched on, but, still, I didn't call because I felt like I was bothering them. Finally, almost a year later, I called again to check status and was told the court made some kind of error in the case number and it would be done in a week. That was 2mos ago. Still no call from them for updates. I finally went in and paid off my bill thinking that would get them going. The receptionnist called someone about my case status and I was told that the judge had said they were going to call Ms. Stokes regarding my case and Ms. Stokes found that odd. But, she (Ms. Stokes) was on vacation for the next few days. Crickets. Weeks later still no call. I will say that didn't get a bill until almost a year went by and the bill WAS very reasonable compared to other attorneys. And, they didn't pester me to pay immediately which was nice. And, Ms, Stokes seemed very nice during our phone consult. But, the lack of communication from this company and lack of results in a long period of time makes them a poor choice for doing business. Sitting on my dad's property and paying his bills for over a year has been a real harfship for me. My neighbor recommended her and loves her. Wish my experience with her office was better. I think them just COMMUNICATING with me would have made a huge difference in my experience even if the process had been as long.

Billable hours did seem to be, in my opinion (and that of the previous reviewer), more important to Mr. Price than anything else. Witnesses were never contacted or used. Evidence was never looked at or used. Phone calls and emails were not returned. Things that needed to be filed with the court were not filed when he said they would be (In several cases, months passed). He didn't seem to be prepared for hearings. He didn't even seem to remember what the case was about and who everyone was. In short, we were unimportant to Mr. Price and it showed. Trustworthy: No, not when he told us one thing and did another. Responsive: No, not even close. Knowledgeable: About our case? No. We constantly had to remind him of the facts of the case. Kept me informed: I want to laugh at this but I'll just say no. To sum up, researching a lawyer before committing would have saved us money, property, and heartache. A mistake we won't ever make again.

Mr. Price, in my opinion, has primarily one objective, billable hours. In my case, he seldom returned my phone calls (never in a timely manner). He waited until the "eleventh hour to prepare for trial. He attempted to contact witnesses the day before trial. His representation was very poor. His firm billed my credit card $1,600 without my authorization which I learned after the fact. My advice to consumers--research your attorney and the law firm prior to hire...Had I accessed this page prior to selecting Mr. Price for my case, I could have saved my self heartache and headache. Mr. Price's over-all attitude towards my case was one of indifference. An attoney is an investment and I made an exceedingly poor one!

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
