We have used Paul Lauto many times, as has our family and friends. No one has ever been disappointed. He is committed and dependable. You don't have to wait until he "gets around" to calling you, he calls you back promptly if you have a question or just need to talk to him. I have never met a more honest and professional person. We recommend him to anyone who has a need for his services. Mr. Lauto has helped us with car accidents, caused by a drunk driver and a bad fall I had years ago. He also handled two car accidents a friend of ours had, and she was completely satisfied, as were we.

I've consulted with Mr. Lauto on various legal issues and matters for many years. He always takes the time to speak with me and returns calls quickly if he is unavailable. I appreciate the fact that he fully explain things so I can understand the full legal impact of my decisions. I have always found him to be well versed and knowledgeable in the areas of law that impact most of us on a daily basis. Most importantly, I found him to be honest and concerned with providing quality representation. I would, and have, recommend Mr. Lauto to anyone who wants a competent attorney who cares about you.

I have used Tim Davies’ legal services for many years now. Tim helped plan and create my dad's will and estate. He advised us about everything we needed to know to prepare for the future. When my dad passed, everything we had to do, including the sale of his condo, went smooth and effortless because of his great planning. I highly recommend Tim’s services - not only because of his vast legal knowledge, but also because he is a very caring person.

I used Doug for several years concerning issues revolving around my son’s disability and the school district’s lack of common sense and Very aggressive poor response to my son and his needs. I was very happy and satisfied with not only with Doug’s legal expertise in representing my son but was grateful for his personality and honest assessment throughout all of it. I typically don’t like lawyers and certainly never trust them but dare I say it??? You can trust this guy. He really is exceptional at what he does.

Let me be absolutely clear when I say there’s nobody more competent than Mr. Ray and his entire staff. I highly recommend if you have a legal issue that you don’t waste your time with others and contact his office if you want the job done professionally and expeditiously. I couldn’t have hoped for better representation. Thank you Mr. Ray to you and your associates from the bottom of my heart.

I had Steven j wilutis in 1992. I went to trial and was sentenced to 10 years. This lawyer got 7,000 dollars from my parents and did not help me at my trial. I saw a article in the newspaper that he was working with the judge he was just out to get money. I'm trying to get my life back and the 7,000 dollars to. I would like to talk to him. Thanks for you're time Steven Destefano.

Mr Wilutis is not only a great attorney, he's a great person. I was charge with felony assault after I had a discussion with person"s that stole items from where my son resided when they broke into his house. After explaining my situation Mr Wilutis my sure that I could not be question by investigators and after arranging voluntary surrender that I would be release without bail. Mr Wilutis handle everything for me without having to go to court and got me a plea bargain of disorderly conduct. I also used him for my son, who was falsely accused of drag racing, and numerous other violations and had all summons dismissed. His vast knowledge of law is unsurpassed.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
