Best lawyer I’ve had! Represented me on a case where crooked police charged me with a gun I’ve never seen before. At our initial meeting she believed me! Which was a huge relief because my previous lawyer (Mark Pecora) suggested I take a plea!! Ann went to trial and fought for me like it was her freedom in the line! She shed tears, even almost got held in contempt! I had five police lying in me in court! Five! Four officers & a sergeant (all no longer officers, felons now) coming to court lying. Well she went in there and beat the case!! Very passionate about her work and will fight for her clients.

My family and I hired her for my son in 2016. She told me that because someone jumped on his case (that was in jail) and was going to testify against him. She (Anne Bowe) told me that if my son didn't take the D.A. offer of 15 years then she would drop him (my son) as a client and testify against him. So, I would advise anyone not to hire her at all.

She answers all my questions text and calls she even returned my call while sick with a sore throat barley able to talk on a Saturday! I appreciate her so much for taking time out for us we need more people who have such a kind spirit.

I contacted Paul Strouse to complete my Chapter 7 Bankruptcy in April of 2019 and I am still having problems because he and his staff did not file all the required documents. He is very unprofessional and slow to get things done. He showed up to my court hearing wearing flip flop sandals and a shirt that didn't cover his overhanging belly. I wish someone would have told me not to hire him before I spent my money.

Attorney Kevin Dunn did an amazing job in my child custody battle. Kevin made himself available at all times. Kevin never gave up on me or my son. Because of Kevin, my son has a better life. He never game up, never encouraged me to settle. He did everything I asked and more. The best part of Kevin is he is calm and keeps you calm. Kevin was right when he said, "worrying is a waste".

Atty Dunn was appointed to my paternity case to evaluate the best custody and placement arrangement for our infant. This was an incredibly stressfull and very uncertain time in my life. Atty Dunn was very professional, and handled this case with sensitivity and discretion. Most importantly, legal jargon is very intimidating and he took the time to explain things to me. He is a trustworthy lawyer, who practices with a high moral ethic. I will recommend his services to friends in the future.

Very unprofessional if you ask me ! I never even talked to Robertits always his snotty assistant Donna . I make all the phone calls and send in all letters to SSI and she I confront Roberts office to help I get excuse after excuse !

I thought what I got for property damage was fair. But pain and suffering not even close. I was in a motorcycle accident an 80 yr. old lady coming from opposite direction turned left in front of me. She first said she didn’t see me. Then quickly changed to I gave it more gas to miss him. The speed limit changes right in this area from 45 to 35. I made the mistake of talking to her insurance. Because they said they needed to talked to me. I told them I was going 35-40 why I said that I don’t know maybe because I was just hit by a car? And I was bleeding to death internally? If I was speeding then so were the cars in front of me. The motorcycle I had was not built for speed but for going off road. I was most likely not speeding. Kind of hard to speed with a car in front of you. I hit the brakes when I seen her start to turn. She gave it more gas, but this was my fault in any way? I don’t turn if I see someone coming from opposite direction! I had 2 surgeries on right leg and still have pain in knee. You can just look at and see it’s painful. It just makes me sick to think about what this lawyer didn’t do for me. I should have went to smaller law firm. One that would actually take time to fight for me.

I just wanted to take a few moments, although words cannot express my gratitude to all involved at your firm, to say "Thank you." for helping myself and my family through our recent ordeal, following my motorcycle accident. From the initial consultation, through the property damage claims, medical claims, the pain and suffering work, and finally the recovery work, my experience with Hupy and Abraham has been as fantastic as any experience like this could be. While I wish there would have been better coverages in place for all involved, I truly feel that your firm fought as hard for me and my family as you would have had there been millions of dollars on the line. It speaks to all of your character and it made a huge difference in the outcome, and my life, as well as my family’s. Please allow me to take this one final opportunity to thank you from the bottom of my heart, and my family’s heart, for taking care of us in our hours of need. We know that without your efforts the scenario would have played out very differently; my bike would be long gone, we would be in financial ruin, and likely would have struggled just to keep our house. You really do strive to reach your goal of making an ordeal like this as painless as possible, while allowing your client to heal. In my case you’ve reached it, possibly eclipsed it. I have learned a lot and if I ever need you again (hopefully not, no offense!), I will not hesitate to call. I also plan to share my experiences with anyone that will listen. THANK YOU!

However Lori stood firm on the rights of a person in the justice system. She went over and beyond her duty of defense in order to get the case dismissed. She stood firm on the Truth with facts and data. I never would have been given this opportunity to have a second chance at life to seek a career get married have child if it wasn't for Lori Kuehn. I had never seen an attorney that you can not reach by telephone. When you call her number she has an voice message that states "text her the message and she will get back to you". Karen was recommended to me. My time of getting divorced was end ‘21 to mid ‘22 so all meetings were done on Zoom or by email or phone call. Things seemed rushed at the last minute all the time. Little pushing on her part to get my ex moving with information or answers. The decisions to be made were pretty straightforward as most of our finances were consolidated in our retirement. In the end I did not realize how important it would be to have an outside person oversee the division of finances regardless of how simple it seems. A red flag was one financial advisor was dividing the money for both of us. I got no advice on this from her. There was so much haggling on the financial disclosure for small stuff to the penny. No creativity for ways to really equalize life insurance, differences in monthly retirement income, etc. she said the differences were too small to bring before the court. When you are retired and don’t have a lot of money even $500 a month is a lot. The divorce was finalized and the division of finances was a mess. My ex ended up with more than me. On calling Karen back about this I only received words she supported me and no real help as she said she would do. I was on my own and never did get an actual record of the division of finances. I put hours into this on my own after I discovered the problem. Divorce is basically a financial transaction and her work really fell short.

Shocked by these glowing reviews. Not my experience at all. I was told she was a great advocate for women. I did not find this to be the case. I felt totally alone throughout the entire process. I found her to be lacking in any empathy. Many times throughout the process she did not fight for me and tried to talk me into agreeing to something that clearly was not in my best interests. Thank goodness I was able to fight for myself against her. I truly regret not finding another attorney. I would not recommend her to any woman.

Just like the review from Amanda Hanson. Recently just filed a grievance against Mr. Rupich with the OLR. No call, no show at court, every court date this cat always had a crazy excuse why he could not get things done or show up. You have not seen the last of me. I trusted you and you took my daughter's life savings. You should be ashamed of yourself. Just like A. Hanson I will go through every possible proper channel to make sure you cannot do this to anyone else ever again. Mr. Rupich I am simply asking you to do the right thing for once and return the money that is owed to Makayla and all the other people. If someone would ever happen to trust this guy make sure he puts the money in a trust and this should be indicted on the contract. He will try to talk you out of this because then he can take your money and do what ever he wants. If you make home put it in a trust then he is legally bound and only then will this guy try to somewhat help you. One year later and still nothing from this guy. This guy looks for people that he can specifically do what he did to my daughter.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
