I had him as a lawyer and this has to be the worst ever. He never returns any messages or staff. They are so unprofessional and would not recommend him at all. Don't hire him as you will forever regret it. I would rate them a below 0 but will not allow me to.

This has got to be the worst office, my husband had him as a lawyer for 4 months. His wife-Paralegal yelled at my husband when he called and asked for a milleage form and some questions about his case.My husband would call and leave messages with no response. He has injuries that require a Dr because he is in pain and he sent him to a chiropractor. We switched lawyers now this office wants$10,000 for supposedly working on my husband's case for 4 months which I'm not sure what he did besides sending him to a chiropractor. And he has the oddasity to not releasing my husband's case file. Now he can't even go to the Dr either because of what this lawyer is doing.. STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE YOU WILL REGRET IT!

If I could give a rate to this place it would be a 0. The law attorney, Esequiel Solorio, has been working on my mother's case for 4 years and still has not solved her case. He has failed to send her to the doctors within the first 2 years up until last year; now she has gotten worse from her injuries. He doesn't want to advance her case, based on my observations. It seems like he just wants my mother to give up and settle with the 58k for her permanent disability on 2 injuries knowing she has 3 injuries! It's upsetting, because as an attorney, you should do everything in your power to fight your client's case. Also, her assistant, Cecilia is not attentive. NOT RECOMMENDABLE.

All legal bills were paid on time. All requested paperwork was provided on time, perfectly organized. 2 weeks before a critical court date- I was notified that my case was too difficult for my attorney to handle and that they were no longer going to represent me. I was then forced to represent myself in front of the judge at the hearing as 2 weeks is not enough time to obtain a new lawyer. Then having left me to represent myself with no time to get a new lawyer they had the audacity to send me another legal bill. They actually billed me for preparing the notice to inform me that my case was to difficult for them to handle.

I was in a bind and risked my ex moving my children out of the county. I never signed for anything other than the retainer I provide and don’t recall even getting a receipt. Complained of me needing to be available when she calls, but had a full time job. After everything was said and done she made decisions I never agreed to. Then months later I get a bill of charges that clearly my retainer should have paid for two meetings and two court dates.

Hired her to represent my 98 yo WWII vet father. She knew he had limited financial resources. Failed to provide promised documentation and delayed refund of retainer balance after poor performance, saying "There won't be much left." Talked a good game but didn't deliver, showing poor preparation for court and making excuses for failures. Often didn't respond to phone calls or emails and then complained about poor communication. Unprofessional in attitude and conduct.

Multiple times she procrastinated on things that I asked her to do, thereby costing me money. Because I had no money with which to pay her at the end, she quit doing anything for me, including things the Judge ordered her to do. She charged me for things she did that I did not ask for, and charged me for them. She was noticeably quiet in court when she should have been representing me. I could not recommend her for anything at this point.

I had a workers comp accident over 5 years ago, the paperwork and dealing with the W/C insurance was way over my understanding and time I had. I seen this attorney's office while driving through Modesto and went for a consultation. I talked to John Gonzales and he insured me that he and his staff would take care of it all and make sure it gets handled correctly. After signing the papers hiring this firm, I have not been able to speak to the attorney I hired even once since. They are so far behind on my case that they were sending me letters saying my MRI was denied and they were not going to file against it, when I had a actually already had the MRI and even the surgery over 6 months prior to the letter. This firm is such a disappointment due to there lack of client compassion, do not keep up on my case at least or have any desire to call me back and file what I ask of them and have completely dropped me from getting information that I desperately need. Now what ? I can not find any attorney to take my case after John Gonzales had it, they will not work for me and when I go into the office and demand they talk to me about my case, it seems as if they just gave up working for me and or got paid off by my employer, which is a big company in the local area. Had to have 5 surgeries and a joint replacement, the other joint is bad also due to this injury and still they do nothing.

I have been trying to get on Social Security Disability for sometime and I have waited for over a week to 10 days to have an phone interview with Sharon Kelly and I have been very stressed over my situation and I was trying to explain to her what was going on. She and I were only on the phone for less then a minute and she told me that I talked to much and just Hung up on Me.. That was Wrong.!!! I don't care how much education you might have. There is such thing called Good Manners and companion. Because of her arrogance and narcissist attitude I Would Not Recommend her as an attorney. I don't care how good she thinks she is. If she wanted me to slow down in my conversation she said OK, slow down and take a breath and let me talk.. Instead she said that I talked to much and just Hung Up On Me... Less then on minute of a conversation with her. Sharon Kelly Just Don't be a hateful, inconsiderate person and just Don't Hang Up ON A Person.. You Should Not Waist Your Time with This Law Office.. There are other and Better Attorney's then Sharon Kelly.. Just to let you Know so you Don't get hung up..

He will do everything he can to keep you out of court. At great cost to the client. There is a reason he does not want to go to court. He is unethical and incompetent and the judge will side for the other party. It is crazy that judges expect lawyers to know and follow the law. If your time and money is no object than he is your man. However, if you hope to win a case. You might try someone else.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:

  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
