In my opinion, Gail is a threat to the safety of children. Based on the overwhelming number of reviews saying the same, I am sharing how to report her conduct. It is easy to file a report with both regulatory boards/commissions. Use the link below if you have used her in the capacity as a Psychologist: https://idfpr.illinois.gov/admin/dpr/complaint.html Select “Professional Regulation” and fill out the information in the form. Use the link below if you have used her in the capacity as an Attorney: https://www.iardc.org/Files/Request_For__Investigation.pdf In my opinion Gail is a danger to children and families. In my opinion, she puts children at risk of serious harm. In my opinion she must be stopped.

We used Gail for divorce mediation. She was late for every appointment. She clearly hadn't ever review anything prior to our meetings and then never sent us our final documents. She was supposed to connect us with a lawyer at the end who 'she works with' to finalize and file our case, she did not do that, she completely disappeared once our last payment was sent. I called and emailed many times and no one responded. She was slow during meetings and wasn't much help with any questions we had. If it hadn't been during a pandemic we would have changed mediator. Ours was a simple divorce, I would hate someone in the middle of a stressful divorce to have to deal with this unprofessionalism on top of that.

This women will continue to try to convince you that abuse of your children is okay. She as a mandated reporter will hide abuse in order to assure she will receive a paycheck from you as long as possible. She will make excuses for the abuser and lie to Judges/Child representatives/DCFS, because if the children get removed from the abusive home she loses you as a client. Please make sure to report this woman to the state of Illinois if anything like this has happened to you. A hospital Doctor that had to care for our children said that Dr. Gail Petrich’s actions are “disgusting and she should be ashamed of herself”. We cannot let people like Dr. Gail Petrich continue to practice.

I had him represent me several years ago and that was the biggest mistake ever. He had me wait outside of the courtroom, he came back in 10 mins and said this is the best I can do. I ended up with a felony, which should have been a misdemeanor at best. He doesn't fight for you and if you believe what propaganda he feeds you, then it's on you. I warned you. This guy is a joke.

We had requested a thirty minute consultation to determine the feasibility of our case in person. It went over to an hour long, which we were fine with paying for that extra time. What we were NOT fine with is that we were not consulted on any pre-meeting billable hours nor had we approved any pre-meeting billable hours. What turned from a small consultation fee turned into a nightmare of him sending us a bill for hours of "service" on the topic that probably took no more than 15 minutes for him to write up, totaling up to over $1,000! I have visited with several attorneys in the past on consultations and no one has EVER tried to bill me in this proposterous manner. I would never never hire or recommend this individual. Luckily, we fought that bill and sent him a check for the consultation fee amount which is what was the AGREED upon fee, after all, we did not HIRE him to do any research. IT WAS A CONSULTATION.

The worst experience I have ever had by far. Hired him to mediate maintenance issue. After paying for the initial consultation separately and then paying a retainer he never produced. Would not return phone calls. After his lack of professionalism I requested a refund of retainer, it took him three weeks to provide that and a billing statement where he had double charged me for the initial consultation and marked it half price and charged for bogus hours looking over paperwork related to the case. Took two weeks to get a response from him where he reconciled the double charge and reduced his hours billed. It cost me two months because I was referred here by a friend. Do not go here, you have been warned.

We hired him for house purchase. The whole time, the only job he does is to forward emails to the other lawyer. No consultation about strategy. No information about legal procedure. Do not even answer questions through phone call or emails. The only reason we have to use him is that IL requires a lawyer for house purchase legal agreement. Other than that he provide no value at all.

Mr Levy refused to see me in his office, he only communicated with me via email. He told me to gather all of my charts and information, asking specific questions of the documentation that I had no way of requesting from the individual providers. When I did send him charts, they sat unreviewed until I notified him I sent them. After months of this back and forth emailing, with Mr Levy often using terse, demanding language, still having never met him, he said that I needed to deposit funds to pay for an expert to review my charts to see if I even have a case. His number was $100,000. When I said I didn't have that much money, two months before the deadline to file, he said, "then there is nothing left to talk about."

Zero stars given if it was possible. The absolute epitome of blood sucking lawyers. Nobody will return emails or call you back. If you're hoping to get anything done or talk to someone, forget it. They don't care about you. They just want money. Do not waste your time.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:

Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:

Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:

Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
