Cameron was wonderful to work with. We came for a living trust and he walked us through the process and answered every question (even “silly” ones). He was efficient with our time but never made us feel rushed. We are completely comfortable and satisfied with our experience with him. Grateful to have a fellow Christian to help us prepare our will and trust.

After my Mom passed away, there were so many questions about what to do with estate planning and the future for my dad. Peggy Timmel was there for us. Her help and knowledge was invaluable. She could have charged us an arm and a leg, and we would not have known any better. Instead, she spelled out exactly what we needed, what we didn't need, and how to preserve my dad's assets. I can't thank her enough for all that she's done for our family!

I would not recommend using Koehler. They were great to work with up front. I had to file a Chapter 13. One of the creditors listed in the bankruptcy filed a lawsuit against me. I called and was told they’d look into it and get back with me. I never heard from Koehler’s but did receive a default judgment from the other attorney and the courts. I called and emailed several times. Finally someone I emailed said she forwarded my email to a person who would take care of the lawsuit. I now have a Chapter 13 coming out of my check and a garnishment summons that I have to attend. Instead of relying on Koehler I have contacted the creditor’s attorney to try to get this stopped. If not, I will have to miss a day of work to go to court, all of this after paying Koehler’s a lot of money to ensure I didn’t have my wages garnished. I’m very disappointed with this firm.

I found Amy to be highly unprofessional, and highly ineffective with my case. I was rear-ended badly while I was stopped at a light and injured. I could never get in touch with Amy, nor her minions she assigned to help. There was little to no communication for weeks at a time. They never made me feel like I was important enough for their time. I missed a few PT appointments due to Covid and a snowstorm. She blamed that for my laughable settlement. She must have had friends and family write all these reviews, unless she just decided she hated me for reasons unknown, and decided to treat me unfairly. I can't imagine there would be a much worse option out there. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for an attorney. to Covid

I was referred to Andrew in 2012 after two failed attempts with the VA regarding my husband's death, age 56, in 1998. He was a USAF retiree Vietnam, physically and psychologically ill. So many years had passed. Andrew's knowledge of military law, his fortitude and the compassion he showed to me and our case kept me going. He is a fighter and persevered. His appeals were outstanding and October 2017 the VA sent a favorable decision of 100% service related disability at time of death. I was also to receive DIC and SBP proportionately. I then needed Andrew's intervention between the VA and DFAS as both said the other was to pay retroactive benefits and DFAS said no to SBP. Thanks to Drew, the VA provides 100% DIC monthly benefits and paid the retroactive benefits. Due to Andrew's professional skills, knowledge, experience and a fine innate quality one doesn't always find in lawyers today, the favorable decision wouldn't have been achieved. I highly recommend Drew to veterans and their survivors.

I WAS RECEIVING 10% DISABILITY AND ANDREW WAS ABLE TO GET ME 100% TOTAL AND PERMENANT DISABILITY. I DEALT WITH THE SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS TO GET HELP BUT WAS UNABLE TO GET MY CASE SETTLED. IT'S NOT EASY. YOU HAVE TO GET THE PROPER PAPERWORK AND YOU HAVE TO DO YOUR RESEARCH(COMPUTERS,LIBRARY, ENCYCLOPEDIAS. YOU HAVE TO DO THE LEG WORK,BUT IT PAYS OFF. YOU HAVE TO BE PATIENT. ANDREW IS A HUMBLE MAN THAT IS A TRUE ADVOCATE FOR VETERANS. ANDREW I JUST WANT TO SAY THANKS. I'M GETTING OLDER AND IT WAS A TRUE BLESSING. I LOVE YOU BROTHER. TOMMY

I was seeking representation for my va claims denial for increase percentage after having failed. Mr Rutz did get me a higher rating and is now representing me in trying to gain my TDIU rating. I can honestly say that Win, Lose or Draw he has always been available and I only have the utmost respect for how he really tries to help you win the awards the va doesn't think you deserve. I truly believe he is concerned and dedicated to his oath to help his clients get a fair shake from the va..no doubt about it..he is worthy.....the best....!!!!

I was referred to Attorney Streib by Jason, the Bail Bondsman. When I called Mr. Streib's office, his staff was the most professional staff I have ever encountered in the legal profession. They understood the urgency of the matter and assured me they would have him contact me expeditiously. Just as his staff promised, Mr. Streib contacted me within an hour. He was proficient, knowledgeable of the law, and informative of the court proceedings. He broke everything down in layman's terms for me and he made me feel very confident with his expertise and experience. If you want an attorney who is attentive, affordable, professional, and experienced, I highly recommend Attorney George Streib.

I had to appear at every court date for a year and a half just to get a new court date. Mr. Streib filed a motion to withdraw for lack of contact 4 days before my final pretrial conference. He sent an email telling me the date and time of the FPTC and the email like all the others said not to respond to the email. I paid Mr. Streib in full the first date I met him and planned on doing so for the trial but never got the opportunity. You would think Mr. Streib would have contacted me via text like he did to tell me he was withdrawing but he did not. Apparently Mr. Streib told the judge I refused to contact him because the Judge was very agitated that the case was a year and a half old which was completely Mr. Streib's doing. The judge was upset enough that he didn't even want to give me anymore time to find a new lawyer because it had drug on so long already and the only reason he did was he had already granted Mr. Streib his motion to withdraw. I would not recommend George Streib to anybody unless you are prepared to go out and take videos and pictures yourself to help your case and get a nasty attitude when you decide you want to go to trial. HORRIBLE waste of money

I can't say enough good things about CLLB. Steve Langdon and Dana have helped me navigate the Indiana Medicaid system, which is incredibly complicated. They have ensured that my mother's longterm care needs will be met while preserving as many of her assets as legally possible. All my questions and paperwork have been taken care of in a timely fashion and they took the time to truly understand our situation to provide us with the best possible outcome.

When myself and my husband decided to retain a lawyer to pursue a stepparent adoption, we were clueless on the process and honestly very intimidated. We knew this could be an uphill battle, and we knew that there were a lot of steps. From the consultation to the adoption hearing we had full communication and support. Dana was wonderful as well as all of her staff. Everything ran seamless, and they guided us through each step….From background checks to fingerprints to home-study waivers to notifying the biological parent and everything in between. We were well informed and well prepared. Nobody tried to waste our time to burn up our retainer with needless back-and-forth calls and emails and they kept communication quick and thorough. We actually had some retainer left, which was unexpected. (We put it towards an adoption party since WE WON) We wrapped up our adoption on August 9 and we are officially a family and it is all thanks to our Attorney Dana Eberle and the team at CLLB. Will recommend her to anyone looking to do an adoption or anything in family law.

Terrible experience with CLLB family law, I was told I'd be able to file based off previous filing from my ex. Didn't happen, and filing took several months from the date of providing my retainer which in turn increased investments and my overall loss. Was notified about my mediation from my 15 year old not my lawyer the Saturday before my Tuesday appointment. Communication was terrible, I was never provided my VFDS or the ex's VFDS to see what was disclosed and was left out on a limb. Costs were 3.5 times what was discussed upfront. I feel like the mishandling of my case cost me in the neighborhood of 6 figures. Lack of accountability and followthrough was the general theme and excuses were abundant. I really advise staying away from Ralph Melbourne and CLLB law. It's really ashame and has cost me dearly.

I would stay away. I wanted to go to trial right away as I know I didn’t do what I was accused of. Instead of getting surveillance footage and witness statements he starts to plea with the prosecutor. Then when I tell him no he acts all surprised as the offer removes all charges for a fine and some other things. Now the prosecutor has throw tripled the charges and we have none of the surveillance footage all because, he felt it was his job to ignore the client to save a week of his time going to trial. And I am getting another attorney once I get more money to go after this crook

I wouldn’t work with them again. Paid John Kraft to get a reinstatement payoff that needed to be done in a timely manner over a month ago. The deadline was July 12th. To this day I have received no communication nor the payoff from them. The only communication I received was when I reached out to them multiple times asking them to call me back and they never did . Johns desk was full of papers and I should have known better. I usually work with Rounsavalle title in KY for my Indiana closings but went to John based on a recommendation from my title company in KY.

We used John Kraft to close a real estate transaction. He clearly explained the transaction in a friendly and informative way. The transaction took very little time. The deed was filed and ready for us the same day. They also took care of filing the homestead exemption for us. The office staff were knowledgable and kind. I would recommend for anyone wanting to close a real estate deal. They were about a third of the cost of using a chain title company. I would recommend John Kraft to anyone and would use him again in the future.

Consulted with he and his assistant, Ms Carroll about a custody case. They took over 40 days to get back with me after the initial meeting, only to confirm information through what they called a p.i. that they sent out. I left custody paperwork that they asked to look over and if they could hold on to but then when i requested my paperwork back due to lack of communication that has been a totally unprofessional situation. Ms. Carroll emailed on Nov 2nd that she was mailing them back, now today after nearly 40 days, 2 more emails and several attempted phone calls................she informs me that it can be sent out COD with me having to pay the 10-15 dollar fee. Absolutely pathetic communication, lack of effort and the most unprofessional office i have dealt with in years. Don't know if it him or his staff but either way, it was a very disappointing situation.

Derwin Webb has taken care of several legal matters for me in the past and I am currently using him in a child custody matter. Mr. Webb is very professional and has always delivered on everything we have discussed and planned for with my case(s). He is also very easy to talk to and he takes great pride in his work and in helping people. It is not hard to get in touch with Mr. Webb and he takes the time to explain things thoroughly and in detail. In my opinion, he is a GREAT ATTORNEY!!!

Had legal matters in both Kentucky and Indiana. Mr. Webb was able to handle both matters, which saved me money. He also coordinated my court dates, so I could attend. I'm thankful that all worked out for the best. He fought for me and gave his all.

Had some law trouble over 15 years ago. Was a young kid and had made a couple mistakes, dont believe he was out to do the best he could. As I look back 15 years from now I believe he did not even try though at the time he may have acted like it. Would not recommend for any defense, doesn't really care about results just money!!

Will tell you he can get you the best case scenario possible just to get your business then once you've gotten paid off he starts changing what he said and not holding up to his word. so you end up getting railroaded. Also is never on time. And does not communicate with you very well. Because he didn't communicate with me right I ended up having a warrant twice and going to jail for a failure to appear. all because he wouldn't communicate with me and tell me that he rescheduled my court dates I guess he thought I was supposed to know on my own, but that's his job to let me know when he does something for me.

Accepted a retainer, and failed to supply any services or maintain any reasonable contact. She failed to return phonecalls and certified letters. She even failed to reply requests to return my documentation so I could obtain other council. A frustrating waste of time.

Had one meeting with him. He emailed requesting different paperwork brought to him. After 2 months,of working with him mostly through emails he files to be excused from the case 7 days prior to court date (including a weekend). Paperwork said conflict of interest. Still not sure what he found after 2 months to suddenly drop my case. Needless to say he did not offer to refund money and did not return original copies brought to his office as of today's date. Simple mailed me paperwork of filing.

It was such a let down today. The Judge, Carrie Stiller, allowed her motherly emotions to control her judgement. She just decided/ordered a father to pay for college to a daughter that will have nothing to do with him. We had evidence of reputation that had a time span of over 10 years to current The judge said if anything that happened when she was younger than 18 couldn't be heard.... that she would only accept evidence from the age of 18 on....but then turned around and used an old text from the same time frame of 16 as the bases for her decision. Then had the audacity to scold him as a father over the 1 text. Not even acknowledging all the mounds of evidence. It makes me feel she didn't even research the previous hearings. I'm not speaking on her overall performance throughout being in her position. I'm solely speaking on her judgement with this case. Very disappointed. Justice was not served.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.

Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?

  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.

Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
