We used Paul Kaplan's office to sell our house in New Haven. We had relocated across country before we had a chance to sell it, so we had to sell it remotely. Fortunately, we found some wonderful people to buy it and could do a for-sale-by-owner (FSBO) transaction, but we needed a capable seller's attorney's office to handle all the paperwork for us.
The entire transaction was as smooth as it could possibly be. Paul's office was very competent. We gave Paul a limited power-of-attorney to handle the transaction for us. Aside for a last minute scurry to find a notary public here (hint: use Yelp) here, there really weren't any problems at all. Anytime I had any questions at all, I knew that I could call Paul or toss him an e-mail and he'd call me right back.
After closing, Paul's office wired the balance of funds as soon as they settled the books (one business day!). Because of wire fraud, they were careful to make sure I was really me, and my bank account was really mine, which I appreciated.
Over all, I couldn't have been happier. Well, I could have been. I would have liked to have shaked the hands of Paul and his team for doing such a great job. What could have been a stressful situation (remotely selling a house) was instead a dream.
Now we have the funds to fix the fixer-upper we bought on the west coast!

First of all, Attorney Boni-Vendola is an outstanding lawyer and I give my strongest recommendation.
Attorney Boni-Vendola is my third lawyer for my divorce case, and I only regret I didn't find her earlier. My first lawyer is from a pretty well-known firm and was referred to me by someone I work with. But very surprisingly, she went to the judge's chamber and made a deal on behalf of me against my will (even though I was very clear about what I wanted before she went to see the judge). Furthermore, she pressured me to sign the agreement. Thinking back, I don't think she was ill intentioned, she just wanted to get me divorced as soon as she could and she may not have enough experience for cases like mine. After talking with other professionals, they all suggested me to change a lawyer. With a friend's referral, I started with my 2nd lawyer. He is super nice, but he is very busy and didn't have much time for my case. I had worked with him for a little over a year (COVID made all the divorce cases delayed) and felt very frustrated. That's when a professional recommended Attorney Boni-Vendola.
Attorney Boni-Vendola is a completely different experience! She is very experienced (you will know by the suggestions she gives, how she works with another party and the judges), efficient (never waste your time when speaking with you, and get right to the point), listened to what I wanted and fought on my behalf, would not let me waste money on things not necessary. Most importantly, she was after me for what I should do, not the other way around. Examples include knowing that I wanted the divorce trial to happen ASAP, she filed for objection right after my ex-husband submitted his request to postpone the trial date. I only found out these activities through online notifications altogether with judge's approval to our objection a couple of days later. I really appreciate the way she handled this and her consideration because it would only add my worry if I knew. She also standed on my point of view to think and gave me invaluable advice. Mostly importantly, she did not pressure me on anything.
I am very grateful that I had her as my attorney and I strongly recommend her without any reservation.

I retained Attorney Feldman for the negotiation and handling of the sale of our property in Hamden. Since I had already relocated overseas most of the transaction happened over phone, Skype and e-mail. Literally 1 Day!!
My wife and I decided to separate. After meeting with another attorney first who wasn't listening to our needs we where referred to Attorney Smith , she helped us prepare all the paperwork, charged us a fair price for her time and made it super easy. Attorney Hwang, in my opinion, did a great job coaching me through "the process". Sure, I was furious, and ready to sue my former partner (probably at great expense) but Sung-Ho showed me reality (at least for my case) and helped apply enough pressure to capture what was a good settlement. There's always risk in doing business but it was refreshing to see the process actually work. Specifically, Attorney Hwang help me recover funds that were invested in a (former) friends company via a convertible note. Later on, after the business failed, rather than providing assets/IP to the lien holders, as the owner should have, he sold himself all of the company IP, subsequently exchanging it for a large position in yet another company. The owner told me the IP had no value but yet he exchanged it for nearly 30% of another company? Anyway, a morally and ethically corrupt former friend got what he deserved and I got a reasonable settlement. I learned a hard lesson. Good coaching, reasonable fee, and I got closure and a good settlement.

Nina Pirrotti, Went above and beyond what I think she had to do. I'm still not out of the woods in my situation, But she lead me in the right direction. My situation was very complicated and she took the time to figure it out. I will say that the lawyer's system is a little slow to get started with filling out paperwork, But once you pass that hump, It's well worth it. Attorney Katz was engaged by our family to handle a very unique situation involving the burial of my father and mother in a local cemetery. Our father died first, and his cremated remains were buried at the cemetery and a headstone placed at the cemetery's direction.
When our mother died, she was supposed to be buried with my father’s urn. But the cemetery buried her in the wrong plot, and could not find my father’s urn. Eventually the cemetery moved her to the correct plot, but my father’s urn was still missing. The cemetery company told us, “We believe we have filled all of our obligations.” Attorney Katz then filed suit on our behalf. Ultimately, through his efforts, my father’s cremains were found, we had a proper funeral and received a settlement in compensation for all that our family had been put through.
At all times Attorney Jonathan Katz was reachable by the family and he worked tenaciously to get this matter resolved.
I have spent 30 years in law enforcement, and I understand what good lawyering is.
Thank You Attorney Katz for accepting his unique legal matter and seeing it thru to the end bringing closure for the family.

jonathan was fabulous during this ordeal, he was thorough and spent alot of time thinking the situation thru and discussing all of our options and possible reactions from opposing counsel, he went far beyond the call of duty to with our insurance company to resolve this issue.

I greatly appreciate the advice and assistance Scott was able to provide after my mother had an accident and couldn't live at home anymore. It was difficult situation as I am often, and he was able to make sure my mother received quality care. He put together all the vendors to get her house ready for sale and sold. He worked with us on finding the best place for my mother to live, and did the medicaid application when it was time, but he helped us to make sure she had everything she needed and found a way to set aside a fair amount of money for my sister and I. He even looked at copies of my mother's medical chart and suggested some changes in her care we should request.
I am very satisfied with Scott's legal services, but what my sister and I really appreciated was his being on top of things and available. I've had other attorneys where that just wasn't the case. The process of getting my mother placed with benefits took almost two years, and even when there wasn't something specific going on legally he would check in a couple times a month, and if we called him he answered his own phone, or he might call back after dinner or the next morning.
I would recommend attorney Rosenberg to anyone who needs help applying for Medicaid or transitioning a parent to any kind of assisted living placement.

I researched Tax Lawyers on Avvo and found Eric’s information. I emailed Eric and asked him if his initial consultation was free. Despite the fact that he was out of the office, he responded to my email and then called me to answer a Tax Liability, negotiation point, question with regards to my divorce. He did this at no charge! He’s a saint…No one does that in this day and age! I wish there were more lawyers with his good heart and not always out to make a buck but instead helping out his fellow man, or in this case woman! Thank you Eric!
