I hired Ball Morse Lowe for a divorce and was from the beginning, heard and understood on not only the family dynamic, but what I wanted out of the divorce. BML held my hand along the way and made sure I understood my responsibilities. I did have a successful divorce with minimal argument. I would highly recommend this firm to anyone who is looking for a family law practice.

I just wrapped up my first and only experience with Mr. Nedwick. He did what I needed him to do but the entire process took months and months longer than it should have. This particular case stemmed from bogus accusations to begin with, which Mr. Nedwick acknowledged initially, and acted as though the process would be quick and simple and relatively inexpensive. Six thousand dollars and seven months later, here we are. Mr. Nedwick informed me there was a chance it would be dismissed before ever going to trial, yet he deliberately waited to attempt to get it dismissed prior to trial until after a member of his office staff, a woman named Rachel, had called and demanded an additional two grand for "trial fees" a week before Christmas. After that amount was paid, Mr. Nedwick informed me that it had indeed been dismissed. I contacted him in regards to getting what I had spent on "trial fees" back and was informed that he was too busy to discuss it with me. I ended up having to challenge a transaction through my bank to recieve any sort of refund. For anyone choosing this firm, highly recommend you deal with Nery as much as possible because Rachel is very unprofessional and very pushy, even going as far as to suggest ways for clients to come up with the money. Keith is a liar and a con-artist, (personal opinion) and will tell you what you want to hear. I won't be back

I haven’t personally met Judge Stanley, yet. I’ve heard nothing but great things about her.. I have spoken with her secretary several times, she never returns phone calls, and when you finally do get her to answer the phone she’s rude and very uncaring. My sister and I both called this office for months . Thank God I just happen to know someone who is a paralegal for a different law office. She had what I was trying to get for months the same day. If you don’t like your job or dealing with the public get a new one

TODAY I received my "Exhaustion of Benefits" letter from my previous auto insurance, so now is a good time for my review. I had three lawyers, a legal assistant AND ended up being referred to an out of state attorney (due to my out of state policy) work on my auto accident/personal injury case. In the end I was convinced to settle below policy limits of the AT FAULT driver's auto insurance. I was VERY hesitant to do this because I had never been in car accident like this and wasn't sure what care would be needed in the future. Little did I know how much this decision to settle would haunt me physically, emotionally and financially. The turn over with the legal staff at the time of my case was a red flag, but I was a year plus in. I was frustrated by what the attorney (Tanner France) at the time was doing on my case that I said I would start working on it as well. HE AGREED. Let that sink it! I didn't. I sent numerous emails with my concern of how my case was being handled to Woody. He was always professional and addressed them timely and I assumed with Mr. France since things would finally start to progress. I recently asked for my case file and when reviewing it I found another client's information in it. I am grateful my car accident did not result in more injuries, but should have never settled while still receiving treatment. I should have been referred to the out of state attorney from the beginning.

Excellent criminal attorney. Great communication. He fights for you and he isn't scared or lazy. He does his job. I recommend him for anyone who is having legal troubles in Cleveland County. He is smart and he knows the law. I wanted to add an update to this after my hearing was complete. I have been involved in the criminal system since 1998. Before that I was fostercare kid. I have never in my lifetime had anyone fight so hard for me and my freedom as Mr Hall did. He did an outstanding job! I will always be grateful!

Kristi Gundy represented my youngest son, who at the time was too young to defend himself during an unfortunate and unusual divorce that was tough for everyone. Kristi Gundy helped and led us through our divorce and even out performed our own lawyers in pursuit of the best possible outcome for our son and I will always be grateful for Kristi Gundy’s service and dedication to our son and her responsibilities. I have hired Richie in the past for custody issues and the outcome was good. I felt very taken care of. Here I am again, dealing with custody issues with my 15 year old daughter, after my ex abandoned our other daughter at the age of 16, because he just couldn't handle her. Now he wants full custody of my baby. Richie is very understanding and thorough. His assistant, Rachel, is super sweet and has walked me through the discovery process this time. I'm very thankful for her and her understanding my difficulty in answering some of the questions and helping me find answers. I hope I never need a lawyer again, but if I do, I'd call Richie! Thank you guys so much for your help ❤️

After several years of fighting for custody and firing three previous attorneys I found Sam Talley and his team (Katie M). I needed someone that would come in and not just take my money but, to help me get fair custody of my son. They by far exceeded my expectations. Katie M. was always there to answer everything. I would ask they would answer, I suggested, and they allowed me to be involved with in my case. The only mistake I think was not getting Mr. Talley and Katie M. as my attorneys sooner. I will never forget what they said to me when I sat down to meet them "We will be your last attorneys and will get this done for you" They followed through, and I couldn't be any happier!

Sam Talley was so arrogant he would not listen to facts, would not present the reasons contempt of court was filed to the judge, waited until last day to work on paperwork and it was inaccurate. Promises never kept as per timelines or work he would do. Sam took my divorce case then took on 3 cases to defend criminal rape. My case always came last. He was always angry. He would not allow me to speak and I always left in tears, which is not like me. Expensive!! He hired other attorneys to do the work and brought them to court without ever telling me he was, and charged me a fortune for it. He received money from Judge to go to me and removed thousands of dollars that was after the case was over, and I still don’t know what it was for!! He said it was to finish up case, but I was done with him. I had to hire another attorney to straighten out all his errors!!

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
