I was recently watching YouTube regarding lawyers in California who are drumming up business in ADA lawsuits to extract money from businesses in that State. It's nice to know that Washington has this kind of attorney who can extract money from businesses that try to help guardianship clients, and get a lot of money to do so. Money first!

Rob advocates for abusers and charges outrageous amounts for filing pretty paperwork courtesy of his staff. He has no idea what is really going on. He manipulates situations to support abusers and potentially puts children in harms way. Money grabber to support his lifestyle.

This lawyer tells stories just like he said. He takes things and twists words to provide a story that the judge likes. He has helped multiple abusers further abuse and does not understand how the abuse cycle works or he would see through it. He takes on clients that have track records of abuse, addiction, and poor behavior and helps them get custody of children. I will never hire him again

Hired attorney Going in circles 2.0 stars Posted by anonymous June 23, 2016 I am a injured worker and have been fighting back and forth with L&I for several years. We hired Elijah Forde for my case. Mr. Forde was great at telling us what we wanted to hear in a very comforting way but never actually delivered. He would get all riled up like he was ready to go to bat for us then back off the second L&I would show the least bit of resistance. We did most all of the footwork on our own case, had a difficult time getting a hold of him by phone or email and would have to keep close eye on my claim for any upcoming appointments as his office would never let you know of any upcoming appointments. This happened for all but maybe 3 over almost 5 years. I would fire him now if I could but claim is coming to a close so not sure if I can. This is not a lawyer i would recommend to anyone. Very unprofessional and not very helpful and his office staff also never responds to email or returning your phone calls.

My family and I have had a very difficult time getting the final documents to close our parents estate from Samuel. From Janury to now (mid July) we've made weekly phones calls and sent numerous emails with almost no response. He does occasionally tell my sister he will have the final documents to her for review "this Friday". Every Friday comes and goes, with no documentation or response. It's a simple estate . He has had the case for 2 years. The courts show the cases as archived. We would like this wrapped up ASAP.

Dustin has probably doubled or tripled the stress and anxiety that accompanies an early medical retirement. His lack of communication and legal acumen have left me floundering in a time that I cannot afford to be off. Nothing ever went how he had explained it would. I went 4 months with zero compensation right after my retirement date. I hadn’t recognized his incompetence before this, but I am continually reminded of it. I only had one major request- ensure that post-pension care is covered for this injury. He assured me it was a done deal!! Then I start getting billed by my Dr, My medications are no longer covered, I can’t even access my retirement accounts (WC and L&I) because he has control. Worst experience ever. My case was a slam dunk. All he had to do was to file the correct documents on time. Guess that was too much.

Dustin is the best L & I lawyer. I was injured from long term, repetitive work and L&I denied my claim. I live in Renton and the drive to Olympia to have Dustin represent me was well worth it. I connected easily with Dustin, being that he worked in Public Works in his early employment and understood from experience the type of work I do. I felt he truly cared about my wellbeing and getting my claim approved. His knowledge of working with L&I is top notch. I would hire Dustin in a heartbeat if I had to do it all over again.

After using the service of Scott Sage for my divorce proceedings, I found his service to be average and very expensive. His charges are highly inflated and overstated and rounded off to the next highest figure. I paid for a lot of unnnecessary service that was of no value to my case. With no paralegal services, which would be one half the cost of Sage's charges of $250.00 an hour, one can understand the frivolous charges.

We hired him and put down a retainer of $3000. We told him it was all we had. He not only dropped us before the case was finished, he then sent us a bill for $2,000. We lost because of him and we have never lost before. We were going up against my fiancé ex wife, she had 2 child protection order placed against her, he didn't even motion to get them! He never added my declaration at all which I did all myself anyways! He did no work at all! My fiancé has never missed a child support payment, he is a good father. Now his child support payments have been raised as high as they can get and we're not sure when we will get to see the kids again. We no longer can afford to have a lawyer so we gave up til we can afford to go after her again! We will never go through him again and we warn everyone else before you hire this heartless con man person. He will loose and take all your money.

Mr. Quinn is the most honest, persistent and patient man I know. He went above and beyond to protect my daughter and make sure that all court actions were in her best interest. He skillfully handled revision of parenting plan and many other actions that came with this as it was a high conflict case. He tried to negotiate and settle when necessary. He is fair, honest, reasonable and dedicated to his clients. I highly recommend him. He acted ethically and was always well prepared. He will always look out for your best interest and your children's too! He is well respected at the courthouse and by other attorney's.

Patrick Quinn put his own fees above the cleints needs He fumbles through oral testomony. He fails to keep his cleints informed and files motions that have not been approved by the cleint. The final straw was when he failed to notice an serious error in the orders from court. This cleint tried to tell him that he failed him and he quit. Some $4000 waste of money on this lawyer with no gain and in fact he put me in a worse place that when I started.

When I explained I was divorcing an abusive narcissist who had a lot of money to burn and loved playing games with the family court, dragging everything out to deplete my resources she used it as an opportunity for her instead of a chance to protect her vulnerable client. She did not follow through to settle anything after my ex withheld spousal support, put all the debt in my name cashed out my retirement and lied on financial disclosures. Her advice and actions made me feel like she was protecting the ex and dragging it on instead! It was crazy! She did not get aggressive or push for a settlement on so many opportunities when they were available to end the nightmare for me. In the end I walked away with nothing but debt I mean nothing! but a broke down car that had to go to the crusher months later, 70k in attorney fees (45k were hers ) and 50k in community debt. The worst is my kids- Mid way through I had to move out of state for my physical safety and without my kids (because of the parenting plan) to become gainfully employed during Covid pandemic to try to make a life for them and to be able to keep paying her. When i couldn’t pay her and survive -even though our agreement was she’d be paid upon settlement which she wasn’t getting anywhere close to after 1 year- -she dumped me and put a lien on my home- so i lost that too. In the end I had no one to fight for custody after being the only parent at home for 16 years! supporting an ex who now earns 4x as much as me. Now I see only them 5 times a year. I pay all the support to him and get support to cover my kids airplane fare. ( otherwise id never see them) I went on to represent myself for another full year I hired someone to end it and they did in one month. But there was nothing left for me at that point and I couldn’t afford a trial to move my kids back to me. I often wonder if I had never met her where would i be ? In my house with my kids and even less than reasonable support until i could get them graduated after a 20 year marriage?. I still haven’t met another divorced mom whose outcome was this bad. BTW l later learned her firm was in serious financial trouble because of payroll theft by a by a former employee/ relative during my divorce proceedings so I cant help but believe the other reviews that peoples bills were run up with no results are factual we were all being used to recoup that loss Nothing will ever be nice about divorce most people so t love their divorce attorney that’s understandable but this one had catastrophic. results. Do your research well or it can really go this poorly for you!

Ever talk to someone who didn't care to listen to what you had to say. Welcome to a consultation with Shelley. She acted completely distant in our conversation, only spoke when prompted to, and provided very little feedback in the end. It was apparent from the beginning she was only there to collect her consultation check and had no attention in providing professional assistance.

I wish I would have seen these reviews before hiring Shelley. She was a nightmare! She takes you on at your most vulnerable, and has no empathy or compassion whatsoever! I was hoping to have representation that would fight for me, and look out for my best interests, but that could not have been farther from the truth. I have been screwed in every way possible. She would not answer questions that were asked of her repeatedly, her emails were rude and abrasive, and it felt like she was working for apposing counsel! As if a tumultuous divorce was not trying enough, I felt like it was an uphill battle with her constantly! From what I’m reading, it’s her MO to withdraw when she has racked up enough billable hours, or finds a new bank account to drain. She never concluded my case, and told me to either speak directly with apposing counsel, or take my ex to small claims court for the very things outlined in the divorce decree that I begged her to help me with! I would not wish her on my worst enemy, and my ex walked away unscathed.

I was billed for a 10 minute conversation I was not aware I would be billed for and which I did not initiate. I was not under any type of contract or retainer with this firm. When disputing the invoice I received an email directly from Mr. Lynch which essentially said “prove it”. I paid the $97.50 because for me it wasn’t worth the argument. It is however important for me to make others aware that they need to be clear about charges when speaking with this firm (especially if not under retainer). I would also be concerned about the qualifications and values of this firm.

We had questions about insurance following a theft and arson fire that destroyed our older mobile home and garage. We had coverage for $97,000 for contents, along with up to two years of living expenses while getting a replacement home, along with coverage for the dwelling itself. Our field agent from the insurance company told us to separate the theft losses from the fire losses because the $97,000 in coverage would apply separately to the theft loss and to the fire loss. Mr Edwards was shocked that the insurance company would consider those seperate claims, and expected them to make us a cash offer to settle the entire claim of somewhere around $75,000 which he recommended that we accept as complete payment for the claim. Coverage for theft of guns was limited to $2,500, but we also had fire damage to a dozen guns that were not stolen. He said that we were limited to the $2,500 yet the policy stated that the limit was for THEFT, and the insurance company is paying for restoration of the guns above the $2,500 paid for the theft. To date the insurance has paid us about $175,000 and we expect to get another $20,000 or so for replacement compensation. Mr Edwards made us feel like we have zero rights, and that we were at the complete mercy of the insurance company. Honestly, I said to my wife as we left his office, "we need to talk to another attorney" because his advice was so concerning to me. We did talk to another attorney a week or two later that gave us advice that was about 180 degrees opposite to what was recommended by Mr Edwards. Our insurance company actaully represented our interests far better!

(5)The fact that I had a friend call animal control while I was in the property .(6)contact of the neighbor weather she recognized me or not she did remember talking to some one around that time . I wrote a letter complaining about her fee and she only refunded $395. I am posting this review to warn others to avoid being victimized like me.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:

  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
