Jason drafted wills for my husband and me. Our estate had some twists and turns in it that took some time and creativity to work out. Jason was patient with all my questions and emails. He worked hard to make sure our intentions were reflected in our wills. At the signing, he carefully explained the provisions to us and answered all our questions. He wanted us to be fully informed as to what we were signing. I have recommended Jason to a couple who needs to establish a guardianship for one of their children. I highly recommend Jason.

When I heard that my mother-in-law might be eligible for VA benefits, a friend suggested calling Shepherd Elder Law Group. They were able to provide me with all paper work that was required, a list of items that would be needed and then explained how to obtain needed documents. After paper work was completed, we had a meeting to check that all was done correctly, so that process would not be slowed down by missing or incorrect documentation. The benefits were received very quickly and I could not have done it without them.

Michael returned my request for information over the weekend. He was quick to get me into the office to talk about my case and I was surprised that he had all the answers to my questions and gave additional information i didnt think to ask about. I give him a 10 star rating and I want to thank AVVO for putting his firm on the list to contact. I waited for three months and was not getting medical care. A week after retaining his firm I was getting the care I should have in the beginning. Ashlyn is five stars!!! A dear friend recommended Ashlyn to help navigate a dispute between my ex husband and myself. I was blown away by Ashlyn’s attention to detail and familiarity with the court system. When it came time for the trial I wasn’t sure what to expect and was pretty nervous. They say getting divorced is never easy. Add to that getting divorced after 10 plus years to a very mentally ill spouse during a pandemic. I could not have done it with out Ashlyn. During the consultation with Ashlyn she did something that she may not have even realized. She gave me hope, with her understanding of the mental illnesses that my ex spouse has. Ashlyn gave me hope by her experience being a guardian ad litem (an attorney representing the child and what the best interest is for the child.)
After she took my case, Ashlyn used her skills and ability to calm down the bull dog attorney that my spouse hired. In court Ashlyn represented me and my interests exactly, and was able to speed up the divorce process. (At that point my ex was stalling wanting to move forward.)
I pray that no one ever has to divorce their spouse. If they do, I hope that they are lucky enough to have Ashlyn or an attorney of her caliber represent them.

Penny was outstanding to work with during my divorce. She listened to what was really important to me and guided me through the process with facts. I really liked that Penny was always available to answer my questions. It did not matter if it was after hours during the week or the weekends, Penny was always there to help. She always made me feel that I was the most important client she was working with. Due to the size of our assets, I would ask Penny to run through different scenarios and advise me what was best. This was extremely helpful to me as I made decisions on how to handle asset division. As I child of divorce myself, it was extremely important to me that I did not become a “every other weekend Dad”. Jeff Koons represented me in a rather complex bankruptcy case, both personal and corporate. Jeff is extremely knowledgeable in the field of bankruptcy and corporate matters. Jeff is meticulous and detail oriented regarding all negotiations with your creditors. Jeff worked very hard in saving my home from being taken by a bank that had duped me into signing a deed of trust to my home for a loan that was for granted to an LLC. Not only did he manage to save my house, he also got the bank to refinance the entire loan at a rate lower than prevailing interest rates. Professionally he is above reproach.
Personally, at a time when I felt at the end of my rope, no self esteem or hope, Jeff gave me hope and the desire to keep striving and moving forward. Jeff made me realize that I was not alone and this kind of thing, even though it is a difficult situation to go through, happens to many people in all walks of life. I've worked with Matt for two different cases. I had a pending DUI charge in Olathe, in which the case looked pretty bad for me. However, Matt was able to convince the judge to not only keep my license with no restrictions or suspensions, but I was also granted diversion. Therefore I have the potential to not be charged with a DUI, given I complete diversion successfully. Luckily Matt had been encouraging through that process so far. Unfortunately I got myself into more trouble, and was arrested for domestic battery. Matt managed to have my charges for that case completely dismissed. I'm really thankful to have had an attorney that was so experienced, and was very cooperative with working with my busy schedule. Any lawyer is expensive, but Matt made this series of unfortunate events affordable for me and I'm confident in saying that with any other lawyer I'm not sure the results would've ended up in my favor. He wants the best outcome for his clients, and goes above and beyond to make that happen. I intend to stay out of trouble, but he'd be my go-to-attorney if need be. Wouldn't think twice. Thanks Matt!

I can't recommend Scott enough! He is a good communicator and expedient - he's quick to respond to emails and quick to get things done. He won't drag out your case any longer than it needs to take. He is to-the-point, direct, very knowledgeable and experienced.
