Please do not work with him. He is not honest about whether he will take your case or not. He promised me he would take my case and strung me along for months (valuable time in a wrongful death case) before getting his junior associate to tell me he would not take the case.

I can't say enough good things about Kristen and her team. I was referred to her by a friend who had gotten great results for her divorce to a narcissist, and who won her custody case. I was quite reassured after working with Kristen to discover she is a solid lawyer with proven experience and expertise in family law. I had started my divorce case with another lawyer, and when I wasn't getting good results, I went in search of a new lawyer. The issue I had was that Patrick case load was so high that he had to do all my hearings except 1 by remote session. Even when he said we would show up in person he later sent me a remote hearing request. Judges are human so they will naturally favor the litigants who are standing in court instead of the ones appearing online. Unless both litigants agree to appear remotely a lawyer should never request a client to do to a remote hearing as Patrick made me do. Another lawyer told me that he had never heard of a lawyer appearing remotely for an initial RFO hearing. This shows to the Judge that you are not serious. Judges are not Robots so they definitely feel a type of way when one litigant is appearing online and the other is in the courtroom.
It would take weeks to get an email response from him or even a callback. I had to go to the office unannounced in person several times just to get in contact with him. It also took too long to get a hearing date due to the number of other clients and hearings he was scheduled for. Even once we had a date, he was still unable to appear in PERSON to the hearing due to his full calendar. Later the opposing attorney who won talked to me and laughed asking why I did not show up in person to my own RFO. I am sure the Judge shared the same sentiments.
I later switched lawyers and went with a lawyer who only had a few reviews on Google/yelp because I knew they would have time to work my case without too much overhead and too many other clients. The number of clients/reviews Patrick has negatively affected the quality and service that he was able to deliver for me. I was also not comfortable with how his office solicited me to write a review while he was in the middle of working on my case.
Naturally, a client will feel pressured to write a good review while the case still being worked on. Beware of any business that solicits a review before service is completed.
I removed 3 stars for 3 reasons.
1. I was ignored: (many unanswered emails and phone calls)
2. I was lied to: (Through email he agreed to show up in person to a hearing which he later made me do remotely).
3. I feel ripped off: (The amount of money he charges /hr should automatically come with the understanding that he will do all hearings in person unless the client requests otherwise). I feel he did my hearings remotely so that he could simultaneously work on other client’s cases, which benefits his business but not me as a client.

I hired Mr. Nelson right after he told me I could file for an adjustment of status during the same month I was notified of being selected for further processing for a diversity visa, also commonly known as green card lottery. I signed a retainer that described the filing of adjustment of status and paid half of the retainer. Shortly after, I realized something was wrong. The only email communication I got from Mr. Nelson was "we can file right away" which happened after what was advertised as a free phone consultation. After that email only the paralegal Tonette started communicating with me and she simply emailed the forms I already downloaded online on my own and asked me to translate in English my birth certificate and provided me with the contact info of a very pricey notarized translation agency. I started talking with a pro bono attorney and ended up consulting with more attorneys and everyone at that point told me to run as fast as I could. Not only my birth certificate was already in English (proof that my documents were not even carefully reviewed) but also the regulations of adjusting status in the US through the diversity visa clearly state that adjustment cannot be filed before the fiscal year starts which cant be October 1st. So I could not file in May as Mr. Nelson falsely promised. Mr. Nelson said that my Visa lottery number was a very low number and therefore I could file in May instead of October but that is simply a lie. Any immigration attorney who knows the laws and regulations can confirm that. The other attorney I consulted with told me clearly that Nelson would have jeopardized my chances to get my adjustment approved if he sent my application in May. Another issue that came up was the fact that no adjustment of status could have ever been filed unless my student Visa was kept alive and in active status, obviously. If there is no status, no adjustment of status can be processed. When I brought up the topic to Mr.Nelson he said that keeping my F1 Visa valid and in status was not part of the agreement and was not in fact included in the agreement and in the amount of money included in the retainer. After complaining a lot, he emailed back saying that he constructed my email as an indication to stop working on my case, except he never started working on it, at all. Nothing was done other than the paralegal sending me the forms to fill out on my own and telling to translate my birth certificate which was already in English, and even if it wasn't translate in English all it needed was a simple free declaration from a friend speaking the language, no certified nor notary service was necessary to translate a birth certificate for adjustment of status. I was left with absolutely nothing in the worst situation possible and Mr. Nelson did nothing described in the agreement I signed. I asked for money back in every possible thinkable way. I even filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the complaint is now public record available on the BBB website and the case is #411053 under the BBB of the Counties of Los Angeles, Santa Clara, San Benito, Santa Cruz, and Monterey. Mr. Nelson replied that he worked a lot on my case and he deserved half of the retainer, which is a fat lie. He also said that normally he would refund me but due to my behavior he won't but I didn't misbehave with him nor anyone else at his office. He then apologized and admitted I didn't get anything of the things I was supposed to get but still refused to refund me. I filed for free mediation with the Department of Consumer Affairs of Los Angeles but he refused to participate which says a lot about his character. He never presented me with my specific rights to arbitrate the fee and lastly he clearly emailed me that he will never refund unless a court orders him too. I must sue him to get my money back.

Let's just stick to the facts shall we? I was the plaintiff in a contingent medmal case, 1) He didn't file special interrogatories and was sanctioned by the court. 2) Prepped his client for a deposition, that never took place, after 1.5 years. 3) He didn't confer with his client to let him know he would not be opposing the defense's MSJ, which he didn't and was a complete no show at the MSJ hearing, again, did not inform client or court that he was going to abandon the case. 4) Lost my case, because of no opposition, no evidence offered. IMO this lawyer did not represent his client to the best of his abilities. 5) Refuses to return phone calls and stick to phone call appointments. 6) No communication for months, especially the last 2+ months of the case when 0 phone conversations were held. Client had to find out about the case by reading about it in the court's docket. 7) He enjoys belittling and condescending his client and gives the impression that you are wasting his time by wanting to talk about your case. 8) Reminds you multiple times that your case doesn't bring in a great deal of money (medmal cap in California) and isn't something he normally does, making you feel insignificant. 9) After a month, still refuses to forward the case file to myself. 10) For a different case in his past, he was sued for malpractice and settled out of court. (lawyer's name, amount and case # withheld for privacy) I wish I would've known what type of lawyer he really is. I have to live with his neglect, malpractice and lack of representation for the rest of my life.

I spoke to Dilair on the phone. We set up a consult meeting after he asked me many questions. At the meeting, he came in tennis shoes and a hoodie. He took a 16 minute personal call in the middle of our meeting. I asked a legal question about my issue. He said there was no such thing and then to my surprise said,”I am not going to discuss this further with you. Go hire the people who told you that. “ When I asked him if he was sure because a lawyer had told me that and it changed the grounds for me getting a lawyer to begin with. He repeated the same thing, “I’m not discussing or explaining this. Go hire the people who told you that.”Then he charged me for the free consultation after I told him I would get back to him the next day, after telling me if he got the job tomorrow with another client he wasn’t going to take mine. He said,” I either need my retainer right now or you need to pay me for my time.” I was intimidated, so I paid him. I was by myself. He asked me as I left why I didn’t retain him. He seemed detailed and motivated initially and confused why I wasn’t retaining him then and there. Perhaps with some time and experience he will develop his people skills.

My Wife had an argument with her sister of the condo they bought together with the down payment of their parents. However the title was on the name of the sister. Sister started to evict my wife. Bruce assured my wife he would get back the condo. And the other party would pay the wages. He conned my wife to also take responsibility of her eviction case then Bruce charged my wife $30,000 just to lose the case. The other party also took $30,000 from her bank account. And still taking twenty five percent of her wag

During my juncture with Jack A. Fierstadt, As a former client I discovered him to be untrustworthy and not knowledgeable about the law. My concerns range from misrepresentation involving wrongful filings, and procrastination. Jack A. Fierstadt simultaneously misfiled cases, failure to know/properly apply the law, procedural errors, and procrastination in performance causing harm to "client interests". As a lay person when you hire a representative you except for them to be thorough, knowledgeable and loyal. Based off my experiences, I would not recommend Jack A. Fierstadt under any circumstance.

Jack and his team have done an excellent job in keeping this case on track and giving me hope of righting a serious wrong. He is knowledgable and skilled at strategy in litigation. This case is involves fraud , conspiracy , conversion and malpractice against trusted family members who took advantage of their position. The case is complicated and Jack has done an excellent job at keeping the opposition from clouding the issues with misdirection and lies. My opponents are formidable but Jack has turned their arrogance against them by repeatedly pointing out their false logic to the judge. This case is ongoing and details must be withheld for now.
