This law firm is all about how they can get money from someone. There isn't no free legal advice here. They will trade files or take other lawyers money if the money is right. Look you straight in the face throw your case and lie in your face before you even step into a courtroom. They already talked to the other attorney got money or a file that puts money into their pockets. Give you some line why they can't help you or low-key snitch on themselves telling you they talked to the other lawyer. Make you agree to something you shouldn't. See I'm educated on how lawyers are greedy and dirty. Known top lawyers most of my life. So I know all lawyers dirty tricks. This law firm needs everyone lawyer there fired and have new lawyers that care to really help or just shut it down 👎 for good. Everyone there has nasty attitudes. Be careful laying in bed with snakes.

Her questionable interview tactic of bringing her big, brown, scary barking dog to our house to talk to our young kids has ruined my situation, still, 4 years later.

Everyone at Strong Law Offices is always helpful. They are great at getting back to you. Anytime my WC checks have stopped, they have gotten on it ASAP and the checks have been sent. They have also helped with getting medical procedures accomplished when WC was blocking them. I was also having problems getting my medications and now I get them on time.

Went thru a nasty accident and was not able to work. Even though it was not my fault, it seemed that I was being blamed for everything. Mr Strong stepped in. It took a couple of months, but it was all worth the wait. I wish that I had contacted him sooner.

I was very disappointed with Mr. Strong. He did not return phone calls, and did not fight for me. He suggested that I file bankruptcy to get creditors off of my back. He got 1/3 of the settlement that he initially told me that I was eligible for. I had to go find a different job, making only half of what my earnings had been previously.

I hired the law firm Parker & Halliday to represent me. Drew and Rob Parker represented me in my divorce. My divorce trial was Sept 27, 2011. Rob Parker and my ex-wife's attorney pre-arranged a meeting with the judge mid-day in the trial to discuss maintenance. After the meeting Rob told me the judge would award 50-60% of my gross as permanent maintenance. He and Drew told me I had the option of continuing with the trial or reaching a settlement. Continuing with the trial surely did not look like a good option. I ended with a settlement that has financially devastated me. After a Motion to Vacate was filed my ex-wife's attorney confirmed I was told the judge would award 50-60% of gross pay because he was part of it. Later the judge issued an order stating he never said he would issue 50-60% of my gross pay as permanent maintenance. Therefore Drew and Rob Parker along with my ex-wife's attorney, Ed Murphy lied to me.

Kevin was courteous and professional. He met with us before trial and discussed our case. At the end of our meeting he said he could help us. Kevin called the day of the court hearing to tell us charges were dropped! Kevin did fantastic and surpassed any expectations I had. I highly recommend Kevin as he is THE expert in defending traffic related cases!

I thankfully only met Rodney a few times while he was working with my sister. He was rude sad soon as I met him and did NOTHING to help my sister. He offered her a payment plan because she is a young single mother and went back on his word knowing she was struggling. He is not very professional and not good in the courtroom. Please find someone better to work with! You’ll regret it.

Honestly, when I first met Rodney, I felt so confident in my case. He made me feel like I was listened to. But that was the first appointment. Since then, he has questioned my intentions and has been very difficult to work with. He’s not sensitive to conflicting schedules in any way so if that’s something you need, I would not suggest him. He is also rude, arrogant and awful in the courtroom. He was extremely insubordinate and mean to another attorney who was just trying to get up to date on the case. Rodney, I sincerely regret hiring you and I hope this stops anyone else from making the same mistake as me.

Well I hired Pete Lynch for a family court case a year ago he was doing ok the last court case I had I did not feel like he was putting forward and speaking in cross-examining my ex about things that would have closed out the case and and the permanency hearing got continued on and then it got continued again just to find out that they could have done it in September but since Mr.Lynch wasn't available until October 4th well I've been trying for a month now to get him to withdraw from the case he has been putting me through a runaround along with the rest of the office they even charged me for a office meeting that didn't actually happen all I did was show up and I speaked to the receptionist to see if Pete or Kaylee was available so I can sign some papers and they told me they were busy and sent me on my way and told me the paperwork wasn't ready yet and it's been weeks and still nothing. To charge somebody for something that didn't actually happen is fraud if this is the type of behavior to expect the ARDC would love this place.

I needed an attorney. I new of a few who I thought were respectable; however I had requested to see Mr. Hoppock before I knew for sure who I could lean on the most. Mr. Hoppock did what was needed in my situation and beyond. He answered questions when I needed an answer{even when he did not seem to have time}. He returned my calls and was very honest with me. Not only was he prepared when we met, I noticed "true grit" as I would call it. Mr. Hoppock helped me when I needed help the most{ and justly so}.He earned my respect . That is rare in attorneys these days.n Trust me when I say , he is well worth your time. I am a satisfied client; and yes he will be the first one I talk to if I ever need legal help. Thanks again Mr.Hoppock. God bless.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Communication throughout the entirety of my case was almost nonexistent. There were many instances when I called the office and was told he was not in and that they would leave a message for him to get back to me and he did not. He prides himself in giving out his mobile phone number to his clients, but getting ahold of him was not much better than calling his office. His voicemail (both for the office and his mobile phone) were almost always full. I sometimes went months without hearing back from him even when I was told I would hear from him within the week. I practically had to hound and beg him and the office anytime I needed to communicate anything relating to my case. The only real time I was able to communicate with him was after complaining about the lack of communication between us. Communication was better for a fewweeks, but then the problems continued soon after. Additionally, I had several medical bills that went to collections and are now hurting my credit because he and his office overlooked them when going over my case, even though I had supplied his office with every medical bill I had received. When I conformed him about my concerns he became upset and accused me of misrepresenting him. He got my money though, so I suppose that’s all that truly mattered to him. I would not use him again and would never recommend him.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
