My husband and I hired Mr. Wurtzel for the closing of our house. It was a stressful time but the fact that he was responsive to our calls and emails and open to hearing our thoughts (the previous lawyer we used was not), made the process easier. He also has a calming temperment, which is VERY RARE from our experience, and he works efficiently. His years of experience were evident in his clear thinking and in his succint writing. We felt like we were in good hands so we also hired him for a separate deed transfer. His fees were very reasonable, especially for the amount of work he put in (the buyers were difficult and Mr. Wurtzel handled the additional negotations). I recommend this level-headed, hardworking, and kind lawyer.

Andrew consulted with with first via phone and then in person, free of charge. He drew up a flowchart of how to proceed to get my Mother Medicaid and into a nursing home. I hired Andrew when my mom’s managed long term care agency denied additional hours of home health care that she needed due to worsening health. He successfully represented her interests at the fair hearings which reversed the denial of additional hours so that she now receives the necessary amount of home health care. My mom also had hired Andrew several years ago when she needed to update her power of attorney and healthcare proxy, as well as to establish a family trust so that she would be able to remain at home rather than go into a nursing home if she ever needed home health care. A few years later she needed home health care and Andrew processed her Medicaid application. We were fortunate to have had his legal counsel and representation.

not useful and we felt pressured to settle when it was
contra-indicated. He was also poor at follow-up and

He does not respond to you in a timely fashion.
He does not do what you ask of him.
There have been complaints filed against him with the Brooklyn Disciplinary Committee. We did not know that beforehand.
We had to find another lawyer to handle our case.
I would not recommend him.
