Where to begin...Alison was recommended through a friend. Tim just settled a personal injury case for me. Second one I've had but WAY different with Tim than with my last lawyer. Unlike my last lawyer, Tim answered my calls (ALL of them), kept me up to date on my case, made predictions about what would happen next , how long it would take to settle the case, how much more we could likely get if we did A, B or C, whether we had been offered their highest and best, and he was right every time. You know, like he had done this a thousand times before and was an expert in handling the kind of case I had. He would even tell me why he thought the claims rep would be replaced with another one (which also happened about a week later!) and thta the new one would agree with our argument that the prior offer was too low. My last lawyer never called me back when I called, never picked up, didn't know what my case was about when I did hear from him and took almost FOUR years to resolve the case. I had to take time off from work CONSTANTLY too. Tim got it done in 6 months, I never had to ask him how my case was going because he would text and call me every time somethinig happened, and negotiated more money than I ever thought I would get. I kept wanting to accept offers and he would say, "no, not yet," not forbidding me but just advising that the insurance company would recognize that they needed to offer more. And he was right. BEST lawyer. Warm person too, free with any sort of advice for my entire family (never rushed me off the phone), which really helped out my family and saved my son's driver's license too.

This is the second time I've used Tim McEnaney for a closing, and the experience was even better than the first. Mr. McEnaney is to understand, very friendly and easy to reach (He even game me his cell number and I was able to contact him after hours and on weekends). Mr. McEnaney is very knowledgeable, not only about the closing process, but also about renovation costs (he's experienced in real estate investment and "flipping"), and about town code issues, variances, etc. Both times, he took his time to answer all over my questions (no matter how stupid) and never rushed our conversations to get off the phone. Mr. McEnaney even reviewed the inspection report with me over the phone and took the time to explain everything I had concerns about, which was quite a lot! ;) He really set me at ease and negotiated a substantial price reduction for some items that came up in our inspection. I cannot say enough good things about the experience. Highly recommended!

NEVER HIRE THIS ATTORNEY!!! Mr. Carpentier represented me during part of my matrimonial action. Mr. Carpentier presided over my case which involved over 100 adjournments, with none of the issues being resolved. Mr. Carpentier billed me over $200,000 and there was never as much as a hearing on the issues. Then, this "attorney" had a lien placed on my file, attempting to prejudice my case. Ironically, the attorney who took over the case resolved all of the issues in the case, and needed absolutely NOTHING from Mr. Carpentier. My 2nd attorney won the case, and I'm a man who has full custody of my children. My new attorney was successful in a fraction of the time, and at 1/10th the cost of Mr. Carpentier. (HE ACTUALLY GOT RESULTS WHICH PROTECTED ME AND MY CHILDREN.) Then, Mr. Carpentier drove me into bankruptcy, attempting to garnish my wages, etc, all the while FIGHTING ANY ADJOURNMENTS to the case... Ridiculous. If this guy was half as aggressive when he was representing me as he was attempting to collect his fees, maybe I wouldn't have needed the 2nd attorney. If you are looking for someone who gets nothing done and wastes everyone's time and money, Robert Carpentier is your man. There are thousands of other lawyers out there... do yourself and your family a favor, keep looking.

Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you EVER hire this lawyer. Mr. Carpentier represented me during my matrimonial case, and billed me over $200,000 without resolving any issues. No trial or hearing on the issues ever occurred. My case involved over 100 adjournments. He is an inept attorney in my opinion. Then, he placed a lien on my case file, prejudicing my case. Ironically, I hired another attorney who resolved the issues in my case without a single piece of paper from Mr. Carpentier's precious file... in a very efficient manner. I now have full custody of my children. Finally, Mr. Carpentier drove me into bankruptcy, where he appeared and opposed ANY adjournments after allowing an unreasonable amount of adjournments at my expense while representing me. Mr. Carpentier is way more aggressive attempting to collect fees for his firm, than he is aggressive when representing his client. There are many other lawyers out there... I'd be very careful when dealing with this guy. Do yourself a favor, start looking for another lawyer if you need legal services. He works for Albanese and Albanese law firm in Garden City, N.Y. He is "of counsel," not a partner.

I can vouch for part of the prior review regarding the Pattis firm - they'll fly through a retainer fixing preventable sometimes truly damaging mistakes, which does nothing to decrease the stress for clients. They deride the client for bringing it to their attention. And the firm is notoriously indiscreet. This firm never returned the most sensitive data turned over to them, which was put literally in the hands of John Geida, and refuses any explanation. The file returned to me contained book orders from Pattis's other business, which is a book store.
A sense of chaos and disrespect of clients reigns at this firm.

I haven't had much experience with lawyers but John Geida in Norm Pattis' office in Bethany CT is one of the most incompetent attorneys out there for employment law. Not only did he make a painful experience of on the job harrassment MUCH worse, but he failed to understand the most basic tenants of employment law, resulting in me having to locate another attorney to clean up his mess. He has no negotiation skills and virtually no knowledge of employment law -- no further insights than what you tell him. This law firm has very little concern for clients -- just running up the meter to run out your retainer (I attempted to raise the concerns to Norm Pattis as well but he was non-responsive too). I am reporting Geida to the CT Bar -- BEWARE!!

My husband, his former colleague and I were stirred toward Max Krotman by an acquaintance of my husband's colleague. After we explained our needs and qualifications, we were told that for a fee of $2,000 this man will find us a business to buy out right, or buy into. He didn't come up with anything for months. Funny thing, right after we called to find out what was going on, he came up with a practice that was exactly what we were looking for. We met with the owner who actually didn't seem interested in selling to anyone. That was the one and only business Max Krotman found for us. I don't believe the practice was legitimate solely because it is very rare the one and only thing that comes up is absolutely perfect until it isn't. I believe that this guy has very few connections in the NY area and basically makes a living from swindling innocent people.
