Troy is rude, does not listen, is incredibly aggressive and argumentative. These are all traits that were exhibited outside of any kind of case. He is not somebody who works cooperatively he would like you to treat him as a God, which makes for a really bad attorney. He also didn’t seem to understand the nuances of the laws that we were referencing, which is incredibly concerning given that he is a landlord, tenant lawyer.It was very clear that he did not go over any of our case information before our phone call and so he just took money from us and wasted everyone’s time. He was more concerned with being right than actually addressing our case in a real way. Would not suggest working with this person as he immediately throws temper, tantrums like a toddler.

Troy is absolutely amazing and I am SO glad I was referred to him! I was in the process of being evicted from the extended stay hotel where I've been living since March and no one I'd reached out to seemed to want to take on my case. Out of sheer desperation, I emailed Troy 24 hours before my court date and within 15 minutes, he gave me a call! I was amazed at how fast he reached out.
We talked more about the case and he discovered the hotel had made a very big mistake when filing the eviction and Troy immediately agreed to take on my case.
He kept me in the loop the entire time and his communication was great. Within a few hours, he actually got the opposing lawyer to file a dismissal and I didn't even have to go to court today!
I really just cannot recommend Troy enough. He took a huge weight off my shoulders and I'm very grateful.

A few good things. Troy has helped me and my wife twice before and we were very successful with his advice the first time, thats why I choose him again, he even gave us free advice sometimes. The second time was more to assert a point. Ayway, I had a slip and fall case that is my old landlords fault and no attorney wanted it, let alone reply to me. I consulted with troy (350$). We even had a meeting with my doctor, after this it turned out he thought I had a case. Some time went by over the holidays and Troy helped me submit a lawsuit right on Time and interrupted his holiday for this (after I searched almost a year for a pi attorney). He actually contacted me and told me I had to do it now! At this point he wasnt representing me but gave good advice. We talked again after the holidays on how to proceed and after he heared that there was a hiccup with a "liability waver" that our landlord had us sign (which is also against the law by the way and I also later pointed ors90.245 out), I feel like he instantly was not interested and thought it was too complicated and he also couldn't do it pro Bono. I followed up with an email discussing my decision and asked another question but literally never heared from him again. In search of other attorneys, he was still always the first recommended and this expierience doesn't line up with our first expierience with him. Nobody is perfect but as a lawyer there should be better and more timely communication. I am rather disappointed and feel a little misled, I did have to pay a substential consultation fee twice plus a expensive filing fee. Unfortunately throughout my journey of reporting my landlord everywhere possible, I found out that Oregon does not enforce tenant law. If you are poor, you are doomed. If you are rich, you can take them to court. But literally NO Agency exists that will help. Troy was my last chance in getting justice and failed me...."sticking it to the man.." yeah sure.

I retained (McKean Smith) Annelisa's services the day I met her for initial consultation. She was referred to me by a common friend.
Annelisa worked with me from start to finish on my divorce, to end my 21 years of marriage, that should've been settled amicably from the get-go, as all I wanted was for there to be no disruption to my kids' (2 teens) lives at home from the parenting plan, and I was ready to give up my house, and 100% child support, and allow both kids to stay with their mother 24/7 for that, with me visiting kids at their home only to care for them when they wanted me to, no different than our usual routine. Where do I start? From the moment I contacted Jake I felt at ease. Facing criminal charges is no joke and to say I was stressed out would be an understatement. Jake listened to my side of the story and spent nearly an hour with me. He went over several different ways he could approach my case, including ones that didn't involve hiring him. I decided to have him represent me and it was the best decision I could have made. Jake's knowledge of the legal system was amazing. Through the whole process he was easy to get a hold of and worked around my schedule. Even at 9 pm he was working on my behalf. Jacob Braunstein is the only attorney I'll ever work with if I can help it. He has represented both me and one of my adult children on different issues and I couldn't be happier with his services. I sought help from Mr. Braunstein when I needed to file bankruptcy. He and his staff function like a well oiled machine and I recommend him to everyone I know. Mr. Braunstein is very patient and obviously cares about his clients. I had a ton of questions but he didn't treat me like I was a bother and he took a lot of time to answer all of my questions. He was also able to work with my schedule, which meant meeting me on the weekend. He's a great attorney who really seems to care about his clients.

I was referred to Jake by one of my good buddies who'd gotten into some legal trouble before. He said, "Call Jake. The dude's awesome!" So I called on the weekend expecting to get a voicemail and he actually picked up the phone. I explained my situation and he said he could meet with me that afternoon since I work long hours all week. First off, my friend was right. Jake is really laid back and easy to talk to. He didn't judge, he just wanted to hear my side of the story. He didn't try to push a contract at me or pressure me into hiring him to help me with my case. He was straightforward, honest, and told me about all of my options, not just the ones that involved hiring him.
I ended up choosing Jake to represent me that day. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. He knew the process inside and out and he helped me every step of the way. It was obvious the judge knew him. She told me right there that Jake had gotten me the deal of the century and normally the prosecutor doesn't agree to things like that. I initially was impressed, but come the time of Arbitration, I realized they didn't know my case well, confused it with others and then Caleb forgot to file witness paperwork so was not able to ask them questions, which lost that part of the case. He told me at the time, I had the right to file Bar complaint against him, it was a pretty big mistake.
The owner of the firm was even worse professionally and made mistakes. JENNY JENNIFER CLARK... wow, so beyond unprofessional. Twice I got emails for other clients from her, one included the attached settlement! Other clients had similar names but not THAT close.
After my lawyer left her firm a days after my case settled, and I still needed help getting the landlord to adhere to agreement, and sent email as directed before he left.... JENNY CLARK replied that case closed and they are no longer were my lawyer and provided Oregon Bar website link to find another. It was pretty awful, left me hanging.
I replied how she was the senior partner on my case, sat in on my first appointment and said would be there. I was just needing the firm that represented me to make sure the other side does what they legally agreed. I ended that email with "Are you saying you won't do that?"... she replied alright...Can't attach here so SEE GOOGLE REVIEW ATTACHMENT of EMAIL FROM JENNY CLARK LOSING HER MIND. I get life was hard for her, but it was for me as well. That was why I hired them.
THEY GOT $20K BUT WOULDN'T HELP ENFORCE THE AGREEMENT THEY NEGOTIATED.
Do yourself a favor, keep searching for another firm. This one talks a good game but doesn't play well with others, especially the partner, JENNY CLARK.

He is always available to answer questions and do a through job reviewing my case. My case is very unique. I would highly recommend rick Davis for civil rights cases involving police. Very happy to have used Gregory Gudger for my recent divorce. Our family has relied on Mr. Gudger for most of our legal needs, from fighting housing related issues to creditor lawsuits. Mr. Gudger took on an old creditor that tried to take everything we own. He found a loophole had the lawsuit dismissed, saving us $100,000. The investment we made with Mr. Gudger was worth it. And, over the years, he has advised us with positive results. No lawyers are perfect, though some might think they are. Sometimes you have to pay to find out there's nothing you can really do. But, even that advise is valuable. In the eleven month period of Mr. Gudger as my attorney I'm in the same place as I was at the beginning of my child custody case. Mr. Gudger was at first, for a couple of months in seemingly helpful, yet there were things that just didn't seem accurate that he was telling me around my case. He didn't seem to know my case, or my name even, until I was beginning to show frustration from me leaving voice mails when he was not in and it would take days to finally reach him. He did not provide me with monthly invoices for services rendered, instead it was a telephone call requesting more funds but to no explanation of what for. I personally felt no reassurance for the last six months of mr. Gudger as my attorney. He failed to provide, a note of leaving my case of any kind yet he insisted he was no longer my attorney. I came to him in hopes of some justice to my case . I am still scheduled in court in January with him as my attorney but to my surprise he let me go with not so much as a phone call, email or written statement. I also paid a deposit for a court session to mr. Gudger for a court appearance that never happened which he just kept, and now he doesn't respond to my phone calls or emails.

Susan used her many years practicing law as her reason for charging considerably more for her services. She filed my trademark and a straight forward estimated to take 9 months to 1 year process took nearly 2 years. The delays resulted from: her poor organization, changing law firms, and mistakes on my application just to name a few.
During my phone consult she assured me hiring a seasoned lawyer (her) would insure my paperwork would be filed correctly and that I'd avoid common mistakes other less seasoned lawyer would make. What ended up happening was a series of problems which she kept referring to as unfortunate. She lied to me, she had a paralegal, she WAS NOT doing the work like she had told me during our consultation. So when the first round of mistakes popped up she blamed it the person she had do all the work and then turned around and demanded I must pay her $350 per hour to fix the issue. Since I'd already paid her over a thousand dollars not including the application fee's I was stuck.
When I hired Susan she had her own law firm. But then 9 months after filing my application (surprise) more problems popped up and she demanded I must repay the initial retainer amount ALL OVER AGAIN since she is NOW with a new law firm. She had merged law firms and not informed me. I kept pleading with her that I had hired her and not this new law firm but she kept insisting I must re-pay her all over again if she is to continue to work with me. After lots of going back and forth and lack of funds I had to contact USTPO myself to fix her errors.
Susan caused me so much stress and sleepless nights I wish I would have asked others who'd worked with her about their experience in working with her. I would have researched her a bit and inquired why her law firm has bounced around so much in 10 years.
Long story short, Susan seems like a competent lawyer on the surface. But she is not organize, not truthful and once you are her client you have to pay for her mistakes or start over with a new lawyer.
In summary, I feel she is unethical, incompetent and pretends to care about women and small businesses but in fact she only cares about herself and how much money she can squeeze out of a client.

I realize people are busy and do not want to give their time for free but you cannot hire an attorney if they are not willing to know what you're calling about. You need Lisa she will calm you down and do everything she can to win your case in trial. She did amazing research almost 1000 pages of discovery. She was very well prepared and works very well with jury selection and prosecution witnesses. She is amazing do not use anybody else she is the best.
