Matthew was able to resolve my ticket. I highly recommend him. We ended out entering a Plea and Abeyance which proved best option. 6 months and I had now record of the ticket.

I retained Matt for two reasons, his prices were reasonable and I was broke. To make a long story short, in a divorce with no assets, the entire process, including sitting down with my ex and her lawyer on three separate occasions, absolutely nothing was accomplished. In the end I went from being a FT father to seeing my kids on wednesday and every other weekend. Matt argued for nothing in my defense, and that worked out just the way you would assume it would...I got screwed. In the end we paid for a 3rd party to do the work (for 200.00) that Matt should have done. Still can't figure out how a guy like this keeps his license and makes a living at what he does....some people were born to work in food service, Matt should be one of them...

This attorney avoids returning phone calls, text messages, replying to emails, and has a tendency to disappear when you need help. This attorney is quick to believe non-credible people and non-credible information about his client and jump on the bandwagon / false narrative without getting the other side of the story or prematurely before getting the proven facts. If you communicate to him how you feel things are going with his "services" and improvements you would like to see, he is quick to dismiss your concerns, act in a rude manner by calling you a name and/or make false assumptions about you based on no evidence. He doesn't like getting constructive criticism.

I was in an extremely messy divorce process with a spouse who was making false allegation. I went from having supervised visitation to joint physical and legal custody, defended me successfully in mediation, he got me a good deal in spite of the negative experience a divorce is. Mr. Cahill gave me lots of advice before the divorce filed which was a huge help for me as a client in the legal issues I faced in the process. Highly recommended.

Trent Cahill seemed like a nice professional guy when I first met him; however, during the process of him representing me, there were many times where I felt he was representing the opposing party. He tried pushing me to make decisions that would help the opposing party. He would sometimes send time sensitive emails later than I would expect something of time sensitive nature to be handled. I tried to communicate that I would prefer to receive emails sooner. But I continued to receive emails late. I would recommend Trent Cahill if you want to spend a lot of money for subpar performance and results. I would not recommend Trent Cahill if you want to be strongly represented.

Hire another attorney he will not hear you and keep asking for money. Hired Rex Bushman through a referral from a law clinic. Because of My financial situation I borrowed money to be able to pay him. The custody case has no grounds I have been the main caregiver for years until my ex got married and wanted to move to a different state and take the kids. I requested through mediation to have Full custody and ex refused then my kids weren't returned to me for my parent time for months to then file change of custody. I had done all the paperwork with the clinic with all my evidence. All he was supposed to do was represent me and look at the paperwork we had worked on with the clinic and submit. He took the case didn't even look at my paperwork , response file, evidence of 18 pages and Bushman submited a page, 1 page of his version of response. When I saw what he had filed he said that he had to file something, was busy and will re file before the deadline. That never happened. But yet kept asking for money citing that he had use 5hrs with opposite counsel. Opposite counsel filed for temporary orders. Went to the hearing thinking he will represent me with all his law knowledge but didn't. The custody was temporarily granted to my ex because there was no evidence. Bushman never submitted my evidence yet charge me more to redo my paperwork since he didn't want to take what we had worked on with the clinic. The a Gal was assigned and he accepted citing it will be costly and I wouldn't afford it and didn't even ask me. Rex Bushman not only misstepresented me on my case he cost me to loose my kids. Yes It's temporary but he never presented the correct facts to the court if he would have at least read my paper work my case would have had a different outcome. Hire another attorney he will not hear you and keep asking for money.

He proffered wisdom of great worth, urging me to heed his counsel in the knowledge that he, in turn, would attentively heed my own. His compassion knows no bounds, his commitment unwavering, ready to champion my cause with unwavering resolve. With heartfelt gratitude, I offer thanks to the remarkable Mr. Dodd!

Commissioner Snow is the most outrageously biased human I’ve ever seen. Not even my case, but a friend’s who I’ve witness repeatedly get a raw deal and I’m just blown away. She doesn’t follow her own orders and picks a side and then argues for that side and then threatens I have never witnessed a worse practitioner of law. If you’re a woman, you will lose if your case goes before her.

Marla was my attorney for my divorce. My ex husband told her that I was cheating on him, and she believed him and swayed the entire case his way. She dragged her feet and things took forever to get finished. She also refused to put in the decree that I could get his wages garnished through ORS. I had her assistant put it in last minute without her knowing. If I hadn't done that, I never would have seen a penny of child support. All that because she felt bad for his fake sob story. Never did receive half of the retirement due to her negligence.

I intend to propose to my long-time girlfriend later this summer, so that we can move to Las Vegas together by the end of December. After that, we needed urgent help fixing our credit. I had a car loan, student loans and credit card debt. I also had another debt (mortgage). My girlfriend had 93k in consumer debt, with 75k of it on credit cards and the rest on her Acura. She does well in her career (makes $120k/yr. gross) which she has a spending issue. Well, I sought help online and I read quite a lot of good reviews about a credit guy called PINNACLE CREDIT SPECIALIST. I contacted him for credit help. We got started and after a couple of days, PINNACLE CREDIT SPECIALIST cleared the debts on my credit profile and eventually raised my score to 811. All these miracles happened in March. Feel free to contact him by email:

Our experience with Dean Zabriskie was very disappointing. The Zabriskie's were very promising and attentive, until they got the retainer check, and then the grand promises began to erode. Phone calls were refused even at previously arranged times. They never once visited to discuss the case or defense strategies, relying on very brief meetings outside the courtroom right before a hearing, and then primarily to demand more money(even though the agreed-upon retainer was promised to be enough to handle the case until resolution). Retaining the Zabriskie's was a terrible mistake and he would not recommend them to anyone.

Dean knows his way around a courtroom and is very good with the judge. However, he proved to be pretty unreliable when it came to keeping me informed. He also didn't keep his word with things he told me he would do. He would ask the judge for time extensions on numerous occasions, so he could do more things, then by the next time we went to court he hadn't don't anything and had to ask for more time. The judge was angry about it. He was able to pull off some things a public defender wouldn't have, but for the price he charges I would not recommend him.

It started with his underlings and went all the way up to him. All of them lied over and over about what I wouldn’t be liable for in my divorce and how bad they would fight for me. They didn’t fight for anything. It almost like they were sharing lies with my ex. I should’ve fired him.

Jason White is the type of lawyer that gives all other lawyers a bad name. He is extremely lazy. He did not keep his word. He overcharged me. He did not help me at all, in fact he made my legal situation 1000x worse. I had to pay a new lawyer just to fix what Jason White messed up.

Do NOT waste your time and money with Jere. We hired him to represent us in a DCFS case, not a divorce. Regardless, he absolutely does not have the best interest of his clients whatsoever, and puts in zero effort. Even with the smallest, easiest things such as asking our judge a very simple question regarding visitation, he did not ask because that would require he actually do something! Every meeting with him did not include conversation regarding our case, only conversation about our family member he romantically obsessed over. The final straw was when he made us completely miss our hearing because he was too lazy to set up his computer ahead of time then blamed it on “routine internet problems.” Even if there was internet problems (which idk how that’s possible when he didn’t even have a computer turned on) he was 20 minutes late, and showed no hustle when I told him everyone was waiting on him! We finally fired him after that. He then sent us an invoice which did not AT ALL match the price we agreed on. Not only did he put double the time he actually spent, he charged us for TEXTING. Even when he was the one who text us to see how things are going. He is lazy, and crooked. Don’t make the same mistake we did by giving him the benefit of the doubt. Take the advice from his reviews and find an attorney who actually has your best interest.

I would give 0 stars if I could. Very unprofessional and rules without facts. She should be removed immediately. Took a 6 year old little girl from her loving mother and loving family who she loves more than anything on this earth and placed her in the hands of her abusive stepmother! with absolutely no evidence. Going to the media with this as she is destroying a innocent little girls life. Dirty cops being relatives of the father played a huge role in this.

I hired Lacee Whimpey to assist with an amicable divorce. Our initial meeting was productive. It took a couple of months for my wife and me to work through asset division, but when we finished this I sent this information to her (March 23). That's when she stopped communicating. She didn't read my email. Failing to receive an acknowledgement, I sent a followup email on April 2. She acknowledged she failed to read the first email, and replied "I'll be in touch" (April 3). I requested a progress update by email on April 26 but again received no response. Finally I called on May 7. She was in but would not take my call. The receptionist said she would have Lacee call me back. Two days later I sent an email indicating that she had lost my trust and requested that she restore it immediately by responding or I would need to find a new attorney. She responded by apologizing that she was too busy to assist with my case. She promptly returned the balance of my retainer. In short, I do not question her competence. Rather, my poor review is due to complete lack of professionalism associated with failure to communicate. Divorce is painful enough, but Lacee made ours more painful by failing to respond in a professional manner during a seven week period.

In April of 1988, I retained David D. Jeffs, of Jeffs and Jeffs, Provo, Utah, to create a trust in order to protect my real property and personal assets against potential legal claims and to save them for my offspring when I died. Mr. Jeffs assured me that the assets placed in the trust would be protected. Over the years, I needed to file amendments to both the trust and will. At first, Mr. Jeffs would quickly get those changes made. However, there came a time that after THREE (3) months after a request and he had not made a much needed change, I created the amendment, signed it and had it notarized and then sent him a copy for his records. From that point on, I created any amendments to both the trust and will where Mr. Jeffs had failed to preform the task he was retained to do. I would send Mr. Jeffs emails during the interim which he would not reply to. In March of 2016, I contacted Mr. Jeffs to check on a rumor that I had heard that trust law had changed significantly and my assets were no longer protected. Mr. Jeffs told me that on July 1, 2004, Utah adopted the Utah Uniform Trust Act that changed the protection of assets and in fact, did away with any protection against potential legal claims. Mr. Jeffs indicated that he as a trust attorney had known of the proposed changes for sometime and changes to my trust could have been made to protect my assets under the proposed trust act changes. Yet, Mr. Jeffs failed to notify me of the upcoming changes so that working together, we could have made changes to the trust and protect those assets that were in it. Mr. Jeffs' lack of due diligence and professionalism to me, his client, needs to be made known to the public. He has violated several Rules of Professional Conduct including Rule 1.4, of Chapter 13, Communications with his client. I am posting this negative review on Avvo so that anyone looking for a trust attorney will be warned that David D. Jeffs lack of due diligence and professionalism and his inability to communicate with his clients. Due to my personal experience with Mr. David D. Jeffs, (#1654), of Jeffs and Jeffs, Provo, Utah, I cannot recommend him for any type of legal work especially if it is regarding a trust and will.

Did not care about my case what do ever he sat and watched my rights get violated I've asked to see evidence against me now I'm going to trial still haven't seen any evidence against me , watched as the court let the 2 witnesses against me testify in front of each other so they could get their story straight and sat silent. Should be ashamed also filling a complaint with my our text messages between each other with the bar association.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
